April, 2023

April 1st, 2023, 4:47 p.m. - Everyone in this book is kind of awful

13. We Lie Here (Rachel Howzell Hall)
I called the ending pretty early on, so any time something happened that didn't fit my theory, I was like, "Nah, that didn't happen." It left for a kind of disappointing read, unfortunately.

Up next: Reef Road (Deborah Goodrich Royce)

April 9th, 2023, 5:37 p.m. - Everyone in this book is kind of awful, too

14. Reef Road (Deborah Goodrich Royce)
This was an okay book that, with some more work, could have been an excellent book. The premise is great, there were some nice twists, and it's paced like a thriller, but the spark just isn't there.

Up next: What Have We Done (Alex Finlay)

April 16th, 2023, 2:14 p.m. - Welcome to my list of writers whose books I will always read, Mr. Finlay

15. What Have We Done (Alex Finlay)
Paaaaacing! Yes! This is how you do it! Also, I want a whole series just about Jenna.

Up next: Every Last Fear (Alex Finlay)

April 22nd, 2023, 6:26 p.m. - Bob + Sarah 4eva

16. Every Last Fear (Alex Finlay)
I felt like there was too much going on here, but that might just be because I was trying to gather clues and was confusing on the wrong things. For most of the book, I had no idea who to suspect, but I did end up putting some of the answers together at the last minute. I still like Finlay's work a lot, and I'm thrilled that my favorite couple is in the one book I have left of his to read.

Up next: All the Dangerous Things (Stacy Willingham)

April 29th, 2023, 2:11 p.m. - While you weren't sleeping

17. All the Dangerous Things (Stacy Willingham)
I almost gave up on this a few times, because it was sooooo sloooooow, and the fact that the last 60 or so pages were a lot better and had some good twists didn't make up for that. Willingham may have lost me.

Up next: Love Will Tear Us Apart (C.K. McDonnell)
