August, 2004

August 4th, 2004, 4:41 p.m. - It's strange, it's not like anything we've faced before...

This is the first time in my life that I haven't had to think, It's August - time to begin the back-to-school countdown. On the one hand, it's weird, knowing that I'm out of school, most likely for the rest of my life. On the other hand, ha ha to all the people who have to go back. You know I love you, but still - ha!

August 10th, 2004, 12:46 a.m. - I will always love you. No, not you, 311

Does anyone else think that 311 completely ruined one of the Cure's best songs? I swear, if they ever touch "Just Like Heaven," we're going to have words.

August 12th, 2004, 5:44 p.m. - Let's get to the party part of the party

My parents are going to Canada for 5 days, so party at my house! You bring the onion dip, I'll break out Boggle!

August 16th, 2004, 4:16 p.m. - Ready, Randy? Ready, Joan

Synchronized diving may be the most mesmerizing Olympic sport.

August 21st, 2004, 3:39 p.m. - ...Boring, boring, boring, astonishingly boring...

As you can tell by the frequency of my updates, there's nothing going on around here. Surprise, surprise.

If I were going back to school, I would have gone back on Wednesday. New students come in today. I can't express how glad I am that I'm not a freshman. Today would be the most stressful day of my life.

August 25th, 2004, 12:38 p.m. - Guess I'm done with the book learnin'

It's so strange not being at school. All of my Eastern friends who haven't graduated started classes today. They had their first chapel this morning and they'll have their first Grow Group tonight. I almost (ALMOST) miss it. For the first time since I can remember, I'm not in school. I'm a freaking grown-up.

I also have a job interview this afternoon. I'd really like a job so I can stop going on interviews. Oh, and to make some money, too.

August 31st, 2004, 12:23 a.m. - Come September

Wow, August was really lame and uneventful, huh? For the record, I still haven't heard back about my job interview, and I don't know when I will. Grr. I really want that job, too.

Four things I'm looking forward to in September:

1. The return of some great TV shows, as well as some not-so-great ones that I can't give a reason for sticking with
2. Season 3 of Alias on DVD - September 7th
3. Season 4 of Angel on DVD - September 7th
4. The 11th book in the Series of Unfortunate Events, The Grim Grotto - September 21st
