I don't know what was up with that ending, but the rest was good. This would be a good book for a club or class discussion. Maybe they could figure out...you know, what was up with that ending.
Apparently the key to me liking one of Miranda's books is her writing a plot that moves backwards. This was a little slow in parts – too many characters and too much focus on them that turned out not to really be necessary – but it's one of Miranda's best.
Slow in the middle but otherwise solid. I like how Chavez writes dialogue, one of the things that's most important to me in a novel.
I would love a sequel to this. Actually, make it a whole series starring Ren. I'll read every book in it.
