December, 2002
December 2nd, 2002, 9:10 p.m. - Another one bites the dust
I can't believe the semester's already almost over! It went so fast! Just four more days until classes are over....
How ridiculous is this? It's December, I'm in Pennsylvania, it's frickin' freezing outside, and my room is warm, even though I don't have my heat on. Stupid dorm.
December 4th, 2002, 11:18 p.m. - Grrrr
I'M SO SICK OF DOING SCHOOL WORK! ARG!!!!!
So, is it snowing yet?
Decemeber 5th, 2002, 11:19 a.m. - Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow
It pays to ask the right question. SNOW DAY!
11:08 p.m. - To sum up...
The day in review:
6:00 a.m. Wake up because people down the hall are making a lot of noise. Overhear them saying that classes are cancelled because of the snow. Turn off alarm and go back to sleep.
11:00 Wake up again. Rejoice because 8:30 class is over forever.
11:30 Shower.
12:30 p.m. Walk over to Breezeway with Ravenna and Meg. Realize Breezeway is closed. Trek across campus to the cafeteria.
1:15 Return to dorm. Laugh as Ravenna and Meg get tackled into the snow by some guy from the dorm. Laugh not quite as hard when I'm tackled next.
1:20 Pull ice out of hair and bottoms of jeans.
3:00 Watch General Hospital with Ravenna. Cheer Courtney and Jason kissage.
5:45 Eat Chinese food with Ravenna because there's no way we're going back to the cafeteria.
8:00 Paul Rudd is funny.
8:30 Necessary weekly dosage of Scrubs' Dr. Cox is back.
9:00 Wonder why no one realized before that Elton John can actually act.
10:00 Wow, Pratt isn't as much of a jerk as he usually is.
10:59 ER's doing a backwards episode next week? What's next, a musical episode?
11:08 Type this up.
December 7th, 2002, 12:51 a.m. - Yeah, Midnight Breakfast
We have a tradition at my school called Midnight Breakfast. The last day of classes of the semester (TODAY! WOO HOO!) the faculty serves the students breakfast at midnight. (Though it started at 11 p.m. this year. Go figure.) I went over tonight and caught up with Dawn, Rachel, Aimee, and Jessica and we ate together. There was a huge Bingo game this year and Rachel won once, Dawn and Aimee won twice (they had the same card), and I won twice. I made the mistake of giving them Pixi Stix when they were already wound up, so I'm sure they won't be getting much sleep tonight. But it was one of the best times I've had this semester.
December 10th, 2002, 11:44 p.m. - Fun with toys
A local radio station does a fundraiser every year called Stuff a Bus--people come to them and bring toys for the military's Toys for Tots. This year they were camped out in New Jersey, about 45 minutes from here, and Ravenna and I drove over tonight to give them some toys. We wound up hanging around for a few hours, talking to the DJs and hanging out on their bus. It was great fun!
December 12th, 2002, 9:33 p.m. - Things are looking up
I get to go home TOMORROW! For a MONTH! That means I get to hang out with my family and friends for a month. I get a month of nights without music keeping me awake. I get a month without school. I get a month of sleeping in. I get a month of vacation! Woo-hoo!
December 16th, 2002, 11:56 p.m. - Isn't it ironic?
Remember when I mentioned that I was on the waiting list to change rooms and didn't actually think I would be moved? (See November 17th, 2002, 3:52 p.m.) Remember when I couldn't decide whether or not to remove myself from the waiting list because on the one hand I wanted a Gallup single (and my own bathroom!) and on the other hand I was okay with my hall? Remember how I decided to stay on the waiting list because I didn't think I'd actually get the Gallup single? Ha ha! The joke's on me! I got it!
My exact words were, "I think I'll stay on the list. The chances of getting into one of those singles is so slim it's not even funny, so I probably won't have to worry about it anyway." Hehe! It's even funnier in retrospect!
Sigh. I'll miss my hallmates, but I'll be happy to a) have my own bathroom, b) have air conditioning, and c) be away from Stupid Music Boy.
December 20th, 2002, 4:07 p.m. - Before you die...
If you saw The Ring, you should check this out. Heh heh heh. Thanks, Aaron.
December 22nd, 2002, 10:54 p.m. - It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...
3 days till Christmas!
December 24th, 2002, 4:01 p.m. - Deck the halls
Merry Christmas Eve! It's snowing! White Christmas!
December 25th, 2002, 12:01 a.m. - Just like the ones I used to know...
Merry Christmas! There is still snow on the ground, so it's technically a white Christmas. Yay!
December 27th, 2002, 4:03 p.m. - New toys
For Christmas I got a Simpsons trivia calendar and The Princess Bride on DVD (both surprises), and in a week or so I'll be getting Season 3 of Buffy on DVD. I can't wait!
December 31st, 2002, 4:03 p.m. - And we'll have fun fun fun...
Happy New Year's Eve! Beppe, Ellen, and Kirsten are all coming over to hang out tonight, which is great, because I haven't seen Ellen and Kirsten for a long time. This is the first year in a long time that I have plans before 8 p.m. Usually someone calls me around then and asks me over. :)
