February, 2005
February 1st, 2005, 4:38 p.m. - Oh, dear
I just did something that was either really brave or really stupid. I'm hoping it was the former, but in case it was the latter, I'm not going to elaborate until I get feedback. If I get the desired feedback, and if I'd done this in January, this could be the fifth thing I wanted to do in January and didn't get to list.
February 2nd, 2005, 12:31 p.m. - Technical difficulties
Happy Groundhog Day! I've stopped paying attention to the groundhog's forecasts. What does he know? Who payed for him to go to meteorology school?
That thing I did yesterday didn't quite work out, but I'll get to try again soon. I know I'm being cryptic, but it's better than completely embarrassing myself. Um, again, possibly. :)
Feburary 3rd, 2005, 1:54 p.m. - People are mean
I just wanted to go to CVS to get a prescription. First, I had to deal with a guy in a BMW who thought that the lines that mark parking spaces are just suggestions. So I rolled down my window and yelled to him.
Me: "Sir? You're parked in two spots. Could you move your car?"
People are nicer in Canada, right? I think I'll just go there.
6:11 p.m. - This is why Aaron rocks
February 4th, 2005, 4:23 p.m. - Four eyes
They won't be ready until next week, but these are my new glasses. Aren't they purty?
February 6th, 2005, 12:45 p.m. - "It's Just an Egg"
Denise rocks (sorry, Margo).
Is there anything interesting on TV tonight, other than the Super Bowl? Should I not ask that question?
February 7th, 2005, 12:21 p.m. - "Decisions, Decisions"
If Kris and Jon don't win, I'll probably cry.
11:05 p.m. - "Two Male Losers"
February 8th, 2005, 12:37 a.m. - My powers of deduction are masterful
I really DO need glasses.
11:36 p.m. - I know someone (kind of) famous!
This guy was on American Idol. And I went to college with him! I actually knew him! He was the student body president my freshman year (when he was a junior), and he was friends with Ruth and Jill, my suitemates! I thought I recognized him when I saw him, and I wasn't sure if it was just a guy who looked like him, but it's him!
February 9th, 2005, 11:43 p.m. - Odds and ends
1. Happy Ash Wednesday!
2. Happy Birthday, Aimee!
3. "Planes, Trains, and Automobiles" - the last Amazing Race awards article for...um...three weeks.
4. I'm offically focaled.
February 12th, 2005, 12:36 a.m. - I'm coming out of my cage and I've been doing just fine...
The Killers are nominated for three Grammys? How did I not know that until just now? I should, since I'm practically obsessed with "Mr. Brightside." I'm listening to it right now, and I'm incredibly happy.
February 13th, 2005, 12:43 p.m. - "Trading Staples"
10:31 p.m. - I'm insane
I've agreed to recap Newlyweds and The Ashlee Simpson Show for RNO. Will someone please send me some Valium? I'm going to need it.
February 14th, 2005, 12:06 p.m. - You choo-choo-choose me?
Happy Valentine's Day!
Here's my Valentine for The Apprentice's Kristen. Ha ha ha!
February 15th, 2005, 12:34 p.m. - "Surprise!"
What have I gotten myself into?
February 16th, 2005, 12:41 a.m. - RNO Awards
They're here! I wrote the one about the fifth season finale of The Amazing Race; it's on the sixth page.
12:16 p.m. - Thanks a lot, Dawn (no, not you, Dawn, a different one)
Not only is Denise, who got eliminated from last week's Wickedly Perfect episode, my favorite contestant, but I just got her responses back from an interview and she's HILARIOUS. Grrr. Now I'm mad at Dawn for voting her off.
4:29 p.m. - "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Living Room"
February 17th, 2005, 11:16 p.m. - Dang, I have so much to do
"Busy as a Bee" (Ashlee recap)
"The Great Christmas Tree Caper" (Newlyweds recap)
February 20th, 2005, 1:36 p.m. - "Survivor - Domestic Domicile"
9:45 p.m. - "The Scapegoat Says, 'Bleat'"
February 22nd, 2005, 12:09 a.m. - Why not?
Here's a break from me complaining about reality TV contestants - Songs I Hate:
And, Songs I Love:
February 24th, 2005, 12:13 p.m. - Snow!
Part of me hates it when it snows (from a practical standpoint), and part of me likes it, 'cause it's pretty. I'll let myself battle it out and get back to you.
"No Rest for the Ashlee" - pick a theme and go with it, editors.
"Worst Resort Ever" - seriously, wherever it was, don't go there.
February 26th, 2005, 11:27 p.m. - I'm so ashamed
So, my lack of distaste for Avril Lavigne is growing. I heard "Mobile" tonight and really liked it. A year ago, if you'd told me I would ever like Avril Lavigne, I would have laughed my head off. And now...turn it up.
February 27th, 2005, 12:25 p.m. - "Thumps Up"
Ew.
BMW Dude: "There are plenty of spaces."
Me: "Yes, but you're parked in two spots."
BMW Dude: "There are plenty of spaces."
Me: "I know, but it's really rude. Could you move?"
BMW Dude: (dismissive gesture as he locks his car and goes inside)
Me: (resisting urge to give him the finger and key his car)
1. "Rich Girl" (Gwen Stefani) - Shut up, Gwen.
2. "Right to Be Wrong" (Joss Stone) - Look, I tried really hard to like Joss Stone. I like her as a person, and she has an interesting voice, but I just can't stand this song. I'm prepared to be heckled by her fans.
3. "Better Now" (Collective Soul) - So, so, so bad.
1. "Mr. Brightside" (The Killers) - I'm a teeny bit obsessed with this song. It's pretty much all I want to hear.
2. "Ocean Breathes Salty" (Modest Mouse) - Too bad they never play it on the radio.
3. "Fall to Pieces" (Velvet Revolver) - Yes, still.
4. "Lonely No More" (Rob Thomas) - Even I'm surprised.
5. "I Just Wanna Live" (Good Charlotte) - I wouldn't say I love this song, but it cracks me up.
