February, 2017
February 4th, 2017, 1:26 p.m. - I would rather rewatch "Bugs" than ever see this week's Supernatural again
Homeland – "The Covenant": Still slow, but I think it's going to start picking up soon. I predict that either Sekou really is a terrorist or he'll turn to violence in response to his treatment, and Carrie will blame herself. Rating: 3 guns Quinn really, REALLY shouldn't have.
America's Next Top Model – "The Glamorous Life"; "The Comeback": Yay, Binta and Marissa are gone! And as much as I would have loved for Giah to come back, Tash definitely earned the spot. I thought she was cut too soon the first time around, so this makes sense. Let the twin drama recommence! Rating: 4 bottles of water Justine could have used
Teen Wolf – "Riders on the Storm": Confession: I was convinced they were going to kill off Stiles, and I spent the whole episode bracing for it. So thank goodness for a happy ending. This really should have been the end of everything, though – we don't need another half season. Rating: 4 baseball bats (yay, the bat's back in action!)
Supernatural – "Lily Sunder Has Some Regrets": I hope the writers have regrets as well. Namely, everything about this episode. Rating: 2 eyepatches
February 11th, 2017, 1:34 p.m. - "Dory?" "I'm not gonna apologize for loving that fish. Not to you, not to anyone"
Speechless – "V-A-L-Valentine's D-A-Day": I just...really love this show. It's my Valentine. Rating: 4 boxes of candy
Modern Family – "Do You Believe in Magic": I loved the ending so much, with Claire doing magic for Phil. So sweet. And I can't believe we've never seen Haley and Sal interact before. I need more of that. Rating: 4 things thrown off a boat
America's Next Top Model – "Platform Power": Can someone please give everyone involved in this show a lesson in feminism? Thanks. Also, Paige over CoryAnne? What?? Rating: 3 spoonfuls of ice cream Tatiana needs to calm down about
Supernatural – "Regarding Dean": Honestly, this episode was really a 4, but Jensen Ackles' acting pushes it up to a 5. Everything he did was so great, and especially welcome after last week's horrible episode. Rating: 5 Post-Its
February 12th, 2017, 3:29 p.m. - SHUT UP, MICAH
4. California (Edan Lepucki)
Up next: The Dry (Jane Harper)
February 18th, 2017, 1:25 p.m. - "Pointing out hilarious faces to you is a service I no longer offer"
Homeland – "A Flash of Light": Still meh, but things are going in a much different direction than I expected, and I think they're just about to pick up. Rating: 3 delivery trucks
Speechless – "T-H-The C-L-Club": Aww, Ray. He's such a great character. And that actor is going to have a terrific career. Rating: 4 fascinators
Modern Family – "Do It Yourself": VICTOR GARBER! That is all. Rating: 4 baseballs Jay can't throw
America's Next Top Model – "Celebrity Life": I think we're looking at an India/Cody final two, with a possible Tatiana spoiler. I hope India can step it up just a little more so she can show she really can win this. I like her the most out of everyone left. Rating: 4 wizard cloaks
Supernatural – "Stuck in the Middle (With You)": The only thing I liked in this episode was the return of the Colt. Oh, and Famous Original Lucifer is back, though I didn't recognize Mark Pellegrino's voice and only knew it was him because his name was in the closing credits. The rest of this was a waste of my time. Rating: 3 Pulp Fiction references that made me roll my eyes
February 22nd, 2017, 8:01 p.m. - A mixed bag
5. The Dry (Jane Harper)
Up next: The Most Dangerous Place on Earth (Lindsey Lee Johnson)
February 25th, 2017, 2:04 p.m. - "No caffeination without representation"
Homeland – "Casus Belli": Yay, stuff finally happened! I think we're looking at a swap here, where Carrie's the stable one and Quinn is the one no one will listen to. I hope the rest of the season stays at this level. Rating: 4 stuffed bunnies named Hop
Speechless – "O-S-Oscar P-A-Party": Everything was good except Ray's plotline. What was that?? Rating: 4 accommodations made for a deathmatch
Modern Family – "Heavy Is the Head": Fine, but I've already forgotten pretty much everything that happened, which isn't a good sign. Rating: 3 Rube Goldberg malfunctions
America's Next Top Model – "And Action!": So...I guess India's going to win by default? Because no one else left is going to. So much for my final-two prediction. Rating: 4 wigs
Supernatural – "Family Feud": Too much going on here, and none of it particularly interesting. Though I kind of appreciated them following up with Gavin, who I'd completely forgotten about. Rating: 3 lockets
Started off promising, but then nothing happened for 200 pages, and by the time things started to pick up, I didn't care anymore.
There were a number of points where I didn't buy the policework here as realistic, and that took me out of the plot. But Falk is a great character, and I would probably read more from Harper if she did a series with him. Also, Harper knows how to do a climax AND an ending, so that was nice.
