January 1st, 2003, 12:26 a.m. - A new dawn, a new day
Happy New Year! Hope everyone's having a good time.
January 2nd, 2003, 2:28 p.m. - Music critic
And now, Songs I Hate:
And Songs I Like:
January 3rd, 2003, 7:02 p.m. - Birthday girl
Happy Birthday, Beppe!
January 7th, 2003, 2:47 p.m. - Oh, happy day
Today is a glorious day for Buffy fans: the third season is now out on DVD. We Buffy-holics are a strange bunch. I know of one person who met with a Barnes and Noble "connection" in an empty parking lot at 12:30 a.m. to get her DVD before anyone else. The Buffy community at Television Without Pity, which consists of a number of rabid and/or obsessive fans, is probably the most excited. Mine just arrived. See you in 22 episodes. :)
January 8th, 2003, 10:12 p.m. - Grrrr
So, now I'm being told that I have to be out of my old room by Saturday night, which means I have to go back to school a day early. I wish someone would have told me this EARLIER! Why am I getting news about everything after the fact?
January 12th, 2003, 11:32 a.m. - Happiness
So, I love my new room. Love it. It's bigger than my old room, I will have air conditioning in the spring, I have my own bathroom, and it's quiet. Yes, I miss the girls on my old hall, but I didn't move across the country, so I'll still see them. I just love this! (Did I mention that?)
January 13th, 2003, 4:07 p.m. - To sum up...
The day (so far) in review:
10:40 a.m. Walk across campus for class
10:45 Grab an add/drop slip to add a new class
11:00 The Black Church in America
11:53 Get out of class. Have approximately 7 minutes to get across campus to next class. Run into Dawn and talk for approximately 30 seconds. Am excited to hear that she left a message for me; lament the fact that I don't have a phone. (Don't ask.)
12:02 p.m. A little bit late to Theology and the Arts; feel stupid walking in late.
12:35 Get out of class early; go back across campus to speak to advisor and ask about getting a new mailbox.
1:00 Lunch with Dawn, Ravenna, Kat, and Amber.
2:00 p.m. Go to Senior Writing Seminar. Ask professor if it's true that you're supposed to take the class when you're a junior. Am told it's not true and am asked to leave. (No, seriously.) Laugh, grab things, and leave.
2:02-2:32 Spend approximately half an hour looking for another class to take at 2 p.m. Can't find one. Find a 1 p.m. class instead. Look for advisor; can't find him.
2:37 Give up. Go to check on mailbox. Go back to dorm.
2:45-4:06 Laugh about absurdity of getting kicked out of a class.
4:07 Type this up.
January 19th, 2003 - Kiddies!
I'm really, really close to getting my job back for this summer. Yay!
January 27th, 2003 - Bored, boring, same thing
Wow, I'm really boring. There's just nothing to say. :)
1. "Jenny from the Block" (Jennifer Lopez) -- Shut up, "Jenny"
2. "Don't Mess With My Man" (Nivea) -- Don't mess with my eardrums
3. "Gimme the Light" (Sean Paul) -- In my opinion, the most annoying song on the radio right now. I just can't describe why
1. "She Talks to Angels" (Chris Robinson) -- I love love love this song. I just adore it. It's beautiful and emotional and it's just the greatest thing out there. I'm so excited about it! :)
2. "Landslide" (Dixie Chicks) -- I didn't think I would like this song, but I love their version. It's a beautiful arrangement.
3. "She Hates Me" (Puddle of Mudd) -- I don't know why I love this song, but I do. It's the ultimate rock-out song. It's just great.
4. "Don't Know Why" (Norah Jones) -- I sing along every time I hear it. That means I love it.
