January, 2006

January 3rd, 2006, 2:06 p.m. - She's 24, like the TV show!

Happy Birthday, Beppe!

January 5th, 2006, 1:45 p.m. - Apparently she hasn't heard the "fully loaded" jokes

Are we supposed to be shocked that Lindsay Lohan is now admitting that she's tried drugs and has bulimia. Because, hi. I have eyes. You take one look at her and you can tell she's a lot thinner than she was about a year ago. And she's, what, 19 and lives in Hollywood and parties all the time, so of course she's tried drugs. If she really wants to shock people, she needs to let it slip that she eats puppies or kills kindly old grandmothers with their own knitting needles or something.

January 6th, 2006, 6:35 p.m. - It's not just me!

Entertainment Weekly likes True Life, too!

By the way, if I ever see Julie or Josh from "True Life: I'm Moving to New York" in real life, I might have to do some hair-pulling.

January 14th, 2006, 10:38 p.m. - Ho-hum

I wish my life were more interesting. January is basically half over and I've barely written anything here. Pretty much all I do is work, read, write, and watch TV. And I'm not recapping right now, since none of my shows is on, so I don't even have articles to link to. I'll try to think of more interesting things to say from now on.

January 15th, 2006, 5:12 p.m. - Just for the record...

Things I don't currently care about:

- The fact that Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are having a baby, or what they'll name him or her, or where they'll all live, or if they're going to get married. I bet that baby will be cute, though
- Whether or not A Million Little Pieces is real or fiction (I couldn't get through it, but it still has the coolest cover ever)
- Anything involving Dancing with the Stars

January 25th, 2006, 10:11 p.m. - Um...oops

So, I might have killed Chris Penn.

Here's the thing: I kill celebrities. It started a couple of years ago with Gregory Peck. My sister-in-law and I started a random joke about him (well, she started it and I just went with it, because that's what you have to do with Claire) and about two days later, he was dead. In fact, when I saw on the news that he'd died and told Claire, she didn't believe me. Then, a few months later, my mom and I were joking about Marlon Brando (the context was Sonny on General Hospital), and a couple of days later, he died.

On Monday, my dad and I were talking about Sean, Michael, and Chris Penn. We didn't say anything mean. We didn't say anything about not liking them. Chris' name just kind of came up. And now he's dead. And I almost lost my mind when I read about it.

Am I going straight to Hell, or can I make a pit stop at a 7-Eleven on the way? 'Cause I'm thinking a Slurpee would really be helpful down there.

January 30th, 2006, 9:13 p.m. - Random thoughts

My office is so hot (how hot is it?) that we greeted everyone today with, "Welcome to the sauna."

I really want to see Bubble. Maybe it's just loyalty to Steven Soderbergh, since Ocean's 11 is my favorite movie, but I really want to see if it stands up to all the hype.

I'm so glad ABC Family is showing Gilmore Girls reruns on Monday nights. I have nothing else to do right now, and I don't get to see the reruns during the week, since I'm usually at work.

Whatever happened to Jackie on Veronica Mars? Pretend I care.

January 31st, 2006, 10:43 p.m. - And so it begins (again)
