July, 2004
July 1st, 2004, 5:42 p.m. - It's the thought that counts
My father just sent me a Canada Day e-card. I think he's forgotten that we're not Canadian.
July 2nd, 2004, 7:51 p.m. - Looking up
I have another job interview on Monday. It's for a clerical/data entry position, but at this point, I'll take what I can get.
July 7th, 2004, 1:32 p.m. - I love blog. Bloggy blog blog
Some people have wondered why I don't have a traditional blog. Here's why:
Because everyone has a blog.
Don't get me wrong - I have nothing against blogs. I'm soon going to start posting in a metblog, as I've mentioned before. I like reading other people's blogs, and I know that they're easy to maintain and update. The truth is, I just want to do something a little different. My journal is like a blog, just a little bit different. It's kind of unique. And I've already paid for this site, so I might as well get the most use out of it.
Also, I'm lazy, and I don't want to have to move stuff.
6:24 p.m. - We'll be rich, I tell you! RICH!
Screw getting a real job. Beppe and I are going to open a matchmaking service. Well...it won't be a matchmaking service so much as a "buy a man" service. But we'll be loved and adored and our names will be in lights. You'll see! You'll all see!
July 11th, 2004, 10:02 p.m. - Employment, here I come!
Yesterday I applied for a job with the government. I kind of never thought I would do that. It's clerical work, so you can't blame me for, like, market crashes or anything.
July 14th, 2004, 11:37 p.m. - No rest for the...uh...zzzzzzz...
I'd post something, but my brain went away.
July 15th, 2004, 11:34 p.m. - The latest news
The D.C. metblog is supposed to be the next one up. It should go up in the next week or so. I'll definitely say something when the time comes.
July 16th, 2004, 7:02 p.m. - Because I can
I think I'll cap off the week with "People Who Need to Shut Up":
1. Britney Spears - "Outrageous" sucks. I didn't think you could do worse than "Me Against the Music," but you did, so congratulations.
2. Jason Alexander, aka the ex-Mr. Britney Spears - You're not British. Stop talking like you are. And your fifteen minutes were over a long time ago, so go away.
3. Halle Berry - Catwoman? Seriously? What were you thinking?
4. Jessica Simpson - Do I really need a reason?
July 17th, 2004, 4:17 p.m. - "Don't Tell Me" I've lost my mind
What's up with Avril Lavigne? I mean, her last couple of songs have actually been...good. Wait...what's wrong with me? Did I really just say that?
July 19th, 2004, 5:52 p.m. - Working girl
I officially have a job. It's part-time, and I'm doing data entry, and I'm earning...well, I'll just say that it's more than minimum wage. But it's something, at least.
I promise, the D.C. metblog will be up soon. I'm not just saying that!
July 20th, 2004, 12:12 p.m. - I hate to say "I told you so," but...
...I told you so. The D.C. metblog is up.
July 22nd, 2004, 12:17 a.m. - Now hear this!
I HATE REMIXES!
Sorry. I've had a long day. No, wait. I'm not sorry. I don't have to apologize. I HATE REMIXES.
Maybe I should just turn off my radio and go to bed.
July 26th, 2004, 12:47 a.m. - That is where they wait
Have I mentioned how impatient I am to see The Village?
You may say that M. Night Shyamalan is a hack. I won't listen to you. You may say that you hated Signs. You're free to, but I'll never agree. You may say that Unbreakable sucked, was a complete disappointment, and made you lose your faith in movies. I'll probably laugh at you. Because I loved The Sixth Sense, Unbreakable, and Signs, and I'll probably love The Village, too. If I can, I'll see it Friday. Except I won't see it at night. I refuse. I saw Signs at night, didn't learn my lesson, and saw The Ring at night. I'm not making that mistake again.
4:06 p.m. - Single girl in the city
I'm making my first unaccompanied foray into D.C. tonight. 22 years old and I've never ridden the Metro by myself. (Pathetic, I know.) Mostly that's because I have such a horrible sense of direction that I'm sure I'll step off the Metro and automatically not know where I am. But I'm going to do it anyway. Because I'm crazy. And also because I'm meeting the D.C. metrobloggers. (Yay!)
July 31st, 2004, 8:57 p.m. - Delightfully satisfied
I saw The Village. It didn't suck. So that's good.
