June, 2015

June 6th, 2015, 1:56 p.m. - Jason Derulo, I need you to stop

So You Think You Can Dance – Memphis and Dallas auditions: Nobody really impressed me all that much, except Vishonda and Ladia. I don't like Jason Derulo. Paula is...whatever. I'm excited to see lots of Travis and Twitch this season, though. Rating: 3 fewer sob stories than usual

Hannibal – "Antipasto": Nothing really happened, but it was kind of fun to see just Hannibal and Bedelia interacting. I'm so glad Gillian Anderson is going to be a regular this season. Rating: 3 rabbits dripping blood

June 7th, 5:39 p.m. - I don't get it

17. The Three (Sarah Lotz)
I have no idea what happened at the end, but the rest of it was interesting. It's like an oral history of a possible terrorist attack/alien invasion/some other weird happening. Too many people to keep track of, though.

Up next: The Tale of the Dueling Neurosurgeons (Sam Kean)

June 13th, 2015, 2:25 p.m. - America, I need your favorite dancer to be Christine

So You Think You Can Dance – Detroit auditions: So much better than last week. I especially liked Christine, who I think has the whole package and could easily go all the way. She's my early pick for a favorite. Rating: 4 karmic rewards for using the word "ghetto" like that, white girl

Hannibal – "Primavera": Is the whole season going to be Will hunting Hannibal? Because part of the magic of the show is the two of them having scenes together, so if that's not going to happen, we might be in some trouble. I'm also worried that the season will be Will talking to dead people. That might be less of a problem. Rating: 3 historical improbabilities that Hannibal could be the Monster of Florence, but whatever

June 20th, 2015, 1:33 p.m. - Yay, Jack!

So You Think You Can Dance – L.A. auditions: I remember Avo...and Jaja...and the swing dancer...and...uh...that's about it. They were good, though. Maybe I'll start remembering names when the numbers pare down a little. Rating: 3 impossibly high leaps by Avo

Hannibal – "Secondo": Can we get some better lighting? I can't see anything. Though sometimes that's okay. And can we have more Jack? Thanks. Rating: 3 snails – enough with the snails already!

5:32 p.m. - Braaaaaaaaaains! Braaaaaaaaaaaaaains!

18. The Tale of the Dueling Neurosurgeons (Sam Kean)
Fascinating! I learned something on every page. I'm definitely going to try Kean's other two books.

Up next: Day Four (Sarah Lotz)

June 27th, 2015, 2:28 p.m. - I could watch Kenya and Connor dance all day, though

So You Think You Can Dance – New York auditions: Wake me up when we get to Vegas. Rating: 3 ballroom dancers who will never get through because there aren't enough spots this year

Hannibal – "Apertivo": Yay, finally an episode I really liked! This is what I want – characters actually interacting with each other. It looks like we get three episodes of this, and then the time jump and Red Dragon stuff. I'll have to appreciate it while I can. Rating: 4 injections that possibly killed Bella

June 28th, 2015, 5:53 p.m. - Call Mulder and Scully, 'cause this is an X-File

19. Day Four (Sarah Lotz)
Exactly my type of thriller: Eerie, tinged with the supernatural, and full of interesting characters. There are some things I wish had been explored more, but overall, a terrific read. Oh, and by the way, I'm never getting on any of kind of boat ever again.

Up next: Dietland (Sarai Walker)
