March, 2004

March 3rd, 2004, 1:04 a.m. - Oh, Mario, sit here by the window

Mario Kart will be the death of me! Stupid game.

March 4th, 2004, 5:46 p.m. - Caveat emptor

So, some guy I met at Merchant's Tire & Auto gave me his phone number. :) I'm not going to call him, but it was kind of funny. And now I have a fun story to tell!

March 5th, 2004, 12:18 a.m. - If memory serves...

Friday Five:

What was...

1. ...your first grade teacher's name? Mrs. Boggs. (Amazingly, I think I can remember the names of all of my homeroom teachers from elementary school.)

2. ...your favorite Saturday morning cartoon? I watched a bunch, but the only one I can think of right now is Garfield and Friends.

3. ...the name of your very first best friend? Kelley. (We went to school together from preschool through high school.)

4. ...your favorite breakfast cereal? Golden Grahams. Wow, I haven't had those for a long time.

5. ...your favorite thing to do after school? Kelley and I would always go to my neighbor's house and play.

March 7th, 2004, 8:41 p.m. - Gone, all gone, what a pretty song

Bye-bye, spring break! I'll miss you.

March 9th, 2004, 6:31 p.m. - Today is about change

Soon I will say goodbye to Angelfire and move to...my own domain! Yes, I finally shelled out the money and purchased www.undo-it.com. The transaction should be finalized in a couple of days, and then I'll start moving stuff over there. Yay!

Oh, and "undo it" comes from Buffy (try not to act surprised). It's from the episode "Pangs":

(Buffy stabs an Indian spirit, which turns into a bear)
Spike: "A bear! You made a bear!"
Buffy: "I didn't mean to."
Spike: "Undo it! Undo it!"

March 10th, 2004, 4:52 p.m. - Here I am!

Welcome to www.undo-it.com!

March 12th, 2004, 12:44 a.m. - 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 (again)

Friday Five:

1. What was the last song you heard? "Drawn to the Rhythm" (Sarah McLachlan)

2. What were the last two movies you saw? Thirteen and Spellbound

3. What were the last three things you purchased? Soda, juice, and a sandwich.

4. What four things do you need to do this weekend? Read for my classes, write a letter, go to the library, and sleep.

5. Who are the last five people you talked to? Beppe, Claire (does it count if I sent her an email?), Kari, my mother, and Dawn.

9:32 p.m. - Music...makes the people...come together...

It's time for a surprising Songs I Like:

1. "Yeah" by Usher, Ludacris, Lil' John - love it. Love the beat, love Usher, love all of it. The video is hilarious, possibly unintentionally so.
2. "Toxic" by Britney Spears - shut up.
3. "Don't Tell Me" by Avril Lavigne - shut up again. I know, I'm an avowed Avril abhorrer (I had to go for the alliteration there), but this song isn't that bad.
4. "Away from the Sun" by 3 Doors Down - I just think it's nice, is all.
5. "This Love" by Maroon 5 - oh, like you don't like it?
6. "Are You Gonna Be My Girl?" by Jet - yes, Jet, I will be your girl.
7. "The Reason" by Hoobastank - I'm turning into quite the Hoobastank fan. And it's fun to say. HOOBASTANK!

March 15th, 2004, 3:19 p.m. - Where everybody knows your name...

Attention every charity organization volunteer in America: I am a woman.

Somehow I wound up on some master list of charities, and I've been receiving letters and free return address stickers from every charity I've ever heard of, plus some that I haven't. That's not really a problem in and of itself, because I like helping out people who need it, and though I can't give to all of the charities, it's nice to know that I'm in the loop. No, that's not the problem at all. The problems are: 1) I'm graduating in two months, so all of the address stickers I get with my college address will be pointless then, and 2) all of the address stickers say Mr. on them. That's right. Apparently Jenn is now a man's name.

Seriously. Fact-checkers. Look into them.

March 17th, 2004, 3:29 p.m. - Kiss me, I'm...well, I'm not Irish, but you can kiss me anyway

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

March 19th, 2004, 12:39 a.m. - If I left the zoo

Friday Five:

If you...

1. ...owned a restaurant, what kind of food would you serve? Italian or seafood. Or maybe both.

2. ...owned a small store, what kind of merchandise would you sell? Probably convenience store type stuff, like snacks and drinks. That would probably be popular

3. ...wrote a book, what genre would it be? Heh. Ask me after I get published

4. ...ran a school, what would you teach? English, probably. Or theater would be fun

5. ...recorded an album, what kind of music would be on it? That's a good question. Whatever I felt like singing!

March 24th, 2004, 4:02 p.m. - And then I'm going to marry Bob Dole and raise penguins in Guam

Becky, my writing advisor (I guess you'd call her that), just sent me the funniest link ever. Watch your step!

March 25th, 2004, 12:23 a.m. - Happy, happy birthday, from all of us to you...

Happy Birthday, Cara!

March 29th, 2004, 6:11 p.m. - Pocket Full of Kryptonite

Tonight Dawn and Aimee and I figured out the secret behind Superman: it's a metaphor for homosexuality. Superman has two identities, and uses one to mask the other. He goes into a phone booth (read: closet) to emerge with his true identity. Lois Lane is his beard. And he wears spandex! It's all a conspiracy! We figured it out - tell everyone!

March 30th, 2004, 12:46 p.m. - Music...makes the people...come together...again

A short addendum to the above Songs I Like:

8. "Echo" by Trapt - the first time I heard it, I thought, "Meh." But the second time, I actually listened to all of it and realized how great it was. The music and words are great separately, and together they're even better.
9. "One Thing" by Finger Eleven - as with "Echo," I didn't think much of it the first time I heard it, but not I love it. The instrumentals on the chorus make it great.
