November, 2001

November 1st, 2001, 11:26 p.m. - Hope

It's almost the weekend! Huzzah!

November 2nd, 2001, 2:11 p.m. - Mmm...chocolate

Quote of the day:
"Any dessert that doesn't have chocolate is a pointless dessert."--Kate Beckinsale

9:35 p.m. - So bored

I think I've played solitaire 82 times today. Maybe 83.

November 3rd, 2001, 11:36 p.m. - Babbling

I have absolutely nothing to say. Except that.

November 4th, 2001, 11:31 p.m. - Babbling again

I don't think I did anything productive today. (Not that this is the first time that's happened....) I just wanted to share that with everyone.

November 6th, 2001, 2:09 p.m. - Being all patriotic and stuff

Happy Election Day! I hope that everyone who can does his or her civic duty and votes. I did the absentee thing a few weeks ago, so everything should be squared away. It's nice to be able to vote in another state and not have to hear the VA candidates' ad campaigns trashing everyone else. Of course, I have to hear the PA candidates' ad campaigns trashing everyone else. I'll be very happy when the polls close.

November 7th, 2001, 6:02 p.m. - Everyone left me!

I feel like I haven't seen anyone today! I went to chapel with Erin and Dawn, and I did see Shellie for about two seconds this morning, but other than that I've gone to class and been in my room, reading for Science Tech (stupid talking monkeys!) and interviewing Beppe for a Journalism profile. Sarah ducked in for a few seconds to ask a question, but everyone else has disappeared and I haven't seen them. It's kind of depressing. Where did everyone go??

8:18 p.m. - Oh, dear

Please help me. I was just singing along with the Backstreet Boys. Someone kill me, please.

8:43 p.m. - Oh, dear again

Oh, Christina Milian, you pain me.

November 8th, 2001, 11:07 p.m. - Read!

I put up a couple of new Hardhats if anyone's interested. No? Anyone? Oh, well. Your loss.

11:25 p.m. - Geniuses

I'm sending whoever left gum on the side of the sink back to preschool to learn how to throw things away.

November 9th, 2001, 7:17 p.m. - Reunion

I went to Wawa this evening to use the ATM and buy some juice and Ruth and Jill were there! It was really cool. I haven't seen Jill since she graduated (last May), so that was exciting. Plus, I'm very happy because I went to Blockbuster and got THE LAST COPY OF SHREK! I have a feeling it may be the last available copy in the whole Delaware Valley. It was behind the empty movie jackets, so I'll bet anything that people walked by the shelf and never even saw it. That's probably the only reason it was still there.

Harry Potter fans, check out this site Beppe found. It's so much fun! (Yes, I'm five.) You can be sorted into one of the houses (Beppe and I are both in Gryffindor, thank you very much) and make your own magical creature (I made an owl, she made a cat). Plus, you can play Quidditch. I racked up about 12,000 points as a Chaser.

11:33 p.m. - What the--?

I think someone's freakin' stealing stuff from me!!!

November 10th, 2001, 2:58 p.m. - Happy/not so happy

Happy Half-Birthday to meeeeeeeee!

Grrr. Someone is stealing from me. If you want to know more, head over to "Petty Theft, She Wrote" for all the details (and complaints).

November 12th, 2001, 11:04 p.m. - Hope

I had a test (Shakespeare) and a quiz (Science Tech) today, and I have a Justice test tomorrow. After 11:20 tomorrow morning I'll be free and clear for another week. Yay!

November 14th, 2001, 7:27 p.m. - Birthday girl

Happy Birthday, Lauren!

I never want to see the cafeteria again. I was just there for an hour. It was steak and shrimp night and the lines were SO LONG. Megan and Dawn and I had to stand there for about twenty minutes before we could even see any food. And we go to a small school!

November 15th, 2001, 11:23 p.m. - Another birthday girl

Happy Birthday, Leanna!

November 16th, 2001, 11:08 p.m. - Boo

For once, I am not looking forward to the weekend. I have sooooo much stuff to do. I have a paper to write for Shakespeare, one for Justice, and one for Abnormal Psych. On top of that, the Ab. Psych paper goes along with a presentation, so I have to work on that as well. Grrrr....

November 17th, 2001, 7:12 p.m. - Procrastination

I did my Shakespeare paper ("Identity and Fašade in Othello") and am saving the other stuff for later. I don't really have to worry about them for a little while, so I'm just not.

November 18th, 2001, 11:06 p.m. - Yep, another birthday girl

Happy Birthday, Heather!

It's official: I don't care about anything other than going home for Thanksgiving. I have two more days of classes until break and I know that, like everyone else, I couldn't care less what will happen in them. I could probably try to care less, but I don't think I would be successful. All I care about is General Hospital, my new Caedmon's Call CD, and chocolate. That's it.

November 19th, 2001, 11:16 a.m. - Anticipation

As a P.S. to yesterday's entry, I also care about the new Harry Potter movie.

4:09 p.m. - SHUT UP!

November 20th, 2001, 9:18 a.m. - I wanna go hoooooooome

I'm writing from Eastern College's computer lab, where I've just finished my last test before the holiday break and am killing time between now and my ten o'clock Justice class, where I will sit for an hour and twenty minutes, watching the clock and waiting for my chance to get out of here and drive two and a half hours to Virginia, where I can sit around and do nothing for the next 5 days. (Except that I have two research papers to do. But enough about that.) In 45 minutes I will be in a classroom with 20 (uh...realistically, 10, if that) other students who want nothing more than to just LEAVE. Kanika and I will probably keep each other appraised of the time for the whole class period, and our minds will wander and we'll think about going home and seeing our families and eating turkey and sleeping in and NOT going to class for the rest of the week, instead of paying attention to Reverend Coleman's lecture on...what? I wasn't listening. I don't even know what he's going to talk about in class today. And you know what? I don't really care. I just want to go home. I've had enough of school. I want it to be 11:20 already!

There. I just killed 4 minutes.

November 21st, 2001, 4:42 p.m. - Birthday boy

Happy Birthday, Daniel!

Ahhh. It's so nice to be home.

November 22nd, 2001, 1:05 p.m. - Mmm...turkey

Happy Thanksgiving! Don't eat too much turkey.

We're having trouble with our preparations to see Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. (No one in my family ever does anything spontaneously.) We wanted to buy them online so we wouldn't have to wait in line to get them and find out they were sold out, but my parents are obsessed with cup-holders and will now only go to movie theaters that have them. When I was younger we always went to the same movie theater on Lee Highway, and now they won't go there anymore because they don't have cup-holders! So while we were online looking for tickets my parents refused to go to the Lee Hwy. theater, even though they had a number of screens and showtimes, because they don't have cup-holders. Is my family scary or what?

November 23rd, 2001, 3:02 p.m. - Another birthday boy

Happy Birthday, Aaron!

I finally saw Harry Potter today, and it rocked. Everyone should go see it. (Read the books, too.)

November 25th, 2001, 9:20 p.m. - Procrastination

Things I did this weekend other than writing my Justice and Abnormal Psychology papers:
1. Got my hair cut
2. Saw Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone
3. Read Heavier than Heaven
4. Watched Meet the Parents for the fifth time
5. Slept in

November 26th, 2001, 2:58 p.m. - I'm 19, by the way

I think that if you work in an office at a college and interact with students on a daily basis you should learn to be POLITE. I was just talked down to by a woman who works in the financial aid office. I went in to ask a simple question and she treated me like I was a) five years old and b) had a learning disability. Hi, thanks. My tuition probably helps pay your bills. Maybe you should be nicer to me. You can't see me, but I'm rolling my eyes....

6:35 p.m. - Sigh

Aargh, I feel like I've been working all day. Oh, wait, maybe that's because I HAVE. At least my papers are finally done.

November 27th, 2001, 11:07 p.m. - Sigh again

So...very...tired. I had to get up even earlier than usual today to be at class by 8 for my group presentation. The whole thing went pretty well (we hit the timeframe perfectly, even though we weren't sure the presentation would be long enough), but I'm so tired from being awake for so long. Need...eight hours...of sleep....

Quote of the day:
from Salem Falls--

Wes: "How do you like your eggs in the morning?"
Addie: "Unfertilized!"

November 29th, 2001, 11:08 p.m. - Huh?

It's Thursday already? Wow, this week went fast.

11:22 p.m. - Heh

Apparently it's illegal to cross the state boundaries of Iowa with a duck on your head. Huh. You learn something new everyday.
