November, 2018
November 2nd, 2018, 8:08 p.m. - Forgettable
44. All These Beautiful Strangers (Elizabeth Klehfoth)
Up next: Dark Matter (Blake Crouch)
November 3rd, 2018, 1:32 p.m. - "How dare she steal the identity I stole!"
Modern Family – "On the Same Paige": It was creative that, instead of a plot where Gloria thought Jay was having an affair, the plot was that Jay thought Gloria thought he was having an affair. Also, I figured Phil's plot would end with another student dropping the class instead of Paige. So that was creative, too. Rating: 4 eyepatches
Supernatural – "Mint Condition": I can't believe no one commented on the fact that the female version of Sam was also named Sam. Also, I'm going to need Dean to wear glasses more often, because HOT. Rating: 4 hatchets
The Good Place – "A Fractured Inheritance": Between this and American Horror Story, Leslie Grossman is having a good year, huh? This needed more Jason, Chidi, and Janet, though. Well, everything needs more Jason, Chidi, and Janet. Rating: 4 eggs on paintings of eggs
Speechless – "N-E-NEW JJ": Everything was funny this week, but especially Ray. Great work from Mason Cook. Rating: 4 perfectly tossed beanbags
November 10th, 2018, 2:08 p.m. - I should read more sci-fi/fantasy stuff. I always like it more than I think I will
45. Dark Matter (Blake Crouch)
Up next: Family Trust (Kathy Wang)
November 11th, 2018, 4:08 p.m. - "Can you believe my high school voted me Most Likely to Die Young and Unaccomplished?" "You did die young and unaccomplished." "Fair enough"
Modern Family – "Did the Chicken Cross the Road?": An ad from last week spoiled that someone would find out she was pregnant in this episode, and it was obviously going to be Haley. They should have gone for a real shock and made it Alex. Rating: 3 chairs Claire couldn't stop moving
Supernatural – "Nightmare Logic": If Mary and Bobby don't come back as a couple, this was all a waste of time. Rating: 3 magical djinn IVs
The Good Place – "The Worst Possible Use of Free Will": Again, not nearly enough Janet, Jason, and Chidi. Come on, guys. Rating: 3 puppies I also would have had a lot of trouble choosing between
Speechless – "S-T-STAGE MOM": Ray's plot was so good, I'm surprised he hasn't been used as a mole before. It felt like it had a mafia vibe, which made it even more fun. Rating: 4 lobsters Jimmy got to enjoy
November 17th, 2018, 1:27 p.m. - "We don't want to run up and tackle some regular guy just 'cause he's into weird fashion." "Mmm, don't we?"
Supernatural – "Optimism": This would have made a great Valentine's Day episode. That said, there were three things I was really excited about: a) Charlie, b) Alexander Calvert finally growing on me, and c) Dean got to eat pie. Rating: 4 books returned by your zombie, necromanced boyfriend
The Good Place – "Don't Let the Good Life Pass You By": This show uses guest stars so well, and Michael McKean is an excellent example of that. I hope we see him again, and that he gets to save many more snails with scotch tape. Rating: 4 pool cues used as epees
Speechless – "C-E-CELEBRITY S-U-SUITE": Yessss, the return of Melanie and Logan! Too bad Logan didn't get to say anything. Rating: 4 Borat boards
November 21st, 2018, 3:55 p.m. - Crazy not-so-rich Asians
46. Family Trust (Kathy Wang)
Up next: Nine Perfect Strangers (Liane Moriarty)
I've already forgotten it.
The middle drags a little, and Amanda is a completely pointless character, but this book completely deserves to be called a thriller.
