I passed my government admin test. I'll be contacted in the next few weeks about an interview. This is kind of cool!
October 11th, 2004, 12:24 p.m. - Emphasis on "confused"
Richard Linklater is being sued by former classmates because he didn't get permission to use their names in Dazed and Confused. I think that's ridiculous. First of all, he didn't have to get their permission. Second of all, get over yourselves. Third of all, you're 45 - grow up. And fourth of all, I'm glad he lambasted his former classmates. If any of my high school classmates criticize me in the future for poking fun at them in my novels, I'll say, "Maybe you should've been nicer to me in high school."

I have a really cool new (unpaid) job - I'm going to write recaps for Reality News Online. My first assignment is to recap The Next Great Champ. Even if you don't watch the show and don't care at all about boxing, read the recaps and give me some feedback!
If they like it, it goes up. If it goes up, I'll link to it. If it doesn't, I'll post it here anyway. It was actually kind of fun to do.

Assuming it's for real, I just got an e-mail from one of the boxers I've been recapping in The Next Great Champ. I've already gotten fan mail, and now I've gotten fan mail from someone more famous than me! (Well, I guess in this case "famous" is pretty subjective.)
