General Hospital blog - April, 2024
April 1st, 2024
Jason goes to see Jake, who's understandably upset that his father made everyone think he was dead for more than two years and is now acting like he can come back to town and be a parent again. He confides to Elizabeth that it might be better to have a dead father than one who pops in, commits crimes, and disappears. Elizabeth supports his feelings and decision not to communicate with Jason, but she tells him that Jason probably won't give up on trying to connect with him. Sonny gets confirmation from Dante that Jason didn't shoot him, but he's still mad about the whole FBI informant/tried to marry Carly stuff. Dante urges him to listen to Jason's whole story about what he's been up to the past couple of years before he cuts him off. Dante thanks Jason for saving him, then confronts him for being an FBI informant. He guesses that some kind of leverage forced Jason into where he is, and he just hopes that everything doesn't end with Sonny in prison. Jason promises that he's been trying to protect Sonny and will continue to do so. Anna wants to get things moving with bringing Dex into the PCPD, so she talks to Bennett about enrolling him in the academy. She thinks they'll be able to take advantage of his knowledge of Sonny's organization, while Bennett is more realistic about the mess that might cause. Sonny basically asks Anna, "I'm not saying you should charge Jason with something for being with the sniper when he fired at me, but if you were, what would it be, exactly?" Anna's fed up and tells Sonny to stop expecting special treatment from her. With Sasha out at Deception, Lucy, Maxie, and Brook approach Blaze again, and this time she's ready to sign on. Natalia swoops in to renegotiate the contract, and though she's difficult and annoying about it, Blaze and Lucy end up okay with the changes she wants to make. Maxie and Brook are less okay, since they get cut out of the process, but ultimately, everyone's happy. Natalia's last request is for Blaze to be seen as a "woman of mystery," with her personal life left out of all interviews. After some brief consideration, Blaze says that's what she wants, too. Diane discovered that one of the lawyers who disbarred Alexis was Neil's brother's law partner, which brings the disciplinary board's impartiality into question. Alexis is hesitant to keep moving forward, since Molly's concerns about her drinking again have her thinking that she won't be able to handle a negative outcome. Diane points out that she's miserable at the Invader and is still sober, so odds are good that she'll be okay. Ongoing problems with the new gossip columnist push Alexis over the edge and she's now all in on getting her law license back.
I'd love for them to delve deeper into Jake and Jason's relationship. How much does Jake know about the reason for Jason's lack of involvement in his early years? Is he resentful of the fact that Jason claimed Danny but not him?
Aiden and Elizabeth shouldn't have been there for Jason and Jake's conversation. And nothing against Aiden, but why is he always around?
I really appreciate that the new headwriters were like, "Screw this – Sonny and Anna are NOT friends and we're not even going to entertain that thought anymore."
Natalia is incredibly annoying, but she was right about Blaze not doing home-shopping stuff. She's the celebrity face of a brand. You wouldn't make Jennifer Garner sell Neutrogena products on HSN.

Now that Jason is out at Pikeman, John wants to use him as bait to lure out other employees, hopefully including the new boss. Anna wants to participate, but John admits to not trusting her, since Pikeman dates back to her time in the WSB and they already know there are connections between the two organizations. John isn't happy that Jason told Anna that he's an FBI informant – in fact, it violates the terms of their agreement – but Jason's even less happy that John kept secrets about their history, and the consequences of that were wider-reaching, so John can just suck it up. During their discussion about all that, John reveals that his leverage over Jason isn't about Jason's crimes, it's about Carly's. Jason tells Anna that she can never know. Curtis is further along in his recovery than he's told anyone, and Stella is shocked when she catches him standing on his own. He hasn't wanted to spread the news because he doesn't want his family to have to watch him fail before he succeeds. Stella, of course, changes his mind, and he surprises Portia by taking a few steps. Bennett questions Dex about his work history and his time in the mob. Dex wants a job that makes him feel the way he did in the Army, like he's part of something and has colleagues he can trust and depend on. Bennett suspects that he wants to be a cop because he wants redemption for the things he did while working for Sonny. Carly has already guessed that Michael helped Jason while he was in hiding, but she doesn't expect Michael's revelation that Willow also helped. Willow tells her that she was willing to set aside her opinion on what was going on and take care of Jason because he's important to Michael and his family. She's surprised that Jason hasn't told Carly any details about what he was up to while he was away. Carly tells her that one of the great things about their friendship is that she trusts Jason even when he can't be completely open with her. Nina and Drew spend the whole episode getting under each other's skin and bugging me. In a nutshell, she whines that she's a pariah, he mocks her for never getting anything out of her attempts at payback, she taunts him for losing Carly to Jason, he points out that everything she's gotten recently was Carly's first, and she guesses that if he could press a button and get rid of Jason and make things go back to the way they used to be, he would.
While it makes total sense that Jason's doing all this for Carly, I think it would have been more significant if it were for Sonny, considering how he feels betrayed. Like, imagine Sonny thinking that Jason shot his son and is working against him while Jason put his own life on hold for more than two years to keep him out of prison.
Valentin running Pikeman would have been a nice, big surprise down the line if they'd held off on revealing it, but it's fun knowing and getting to see how both sides will adjust now that Jason's been outed as a mole.
I love that the most emotion Jason has shown in the month he's been back was anger over John making Monica think he was dead.
Interesting that Dex didn't tell Bennett that he was kind of undercover in the mob. And speaking of undercover work, Anna and John should send Dex into Pikeman as an informant.
I'm surprised Jason and Drew haven't interacted yet. I feel like Drew is the last person in town Jason will have contact with.
Can I just say that Carly and Drew don't seem too upset about their breakup. I wouldn't be surprised if she hasn't thought about it at all since it happened.

Tracy gets some advice from Stella on how to treat someone who has a terminal illness. She more or less admits that her lifelong coldness has left her without friends, and it's clear that she doesn't know how to make any. The two start to see that they're more alike than they thought, and Tracy might have a new backgammon opponent. Brook and Chase moved their wedding back to its original date, which means Gregory needs to keep himself going at his current level for another month. He tells his sons that everything's fine while he makes moves to keep them and Elizabeth from getting too much information about his condition. Kristina's in Nina's office when Maxie brings Blaze by to meet her, and Blaze basically acts like Kristina isn't in the room. Kristina's not happy to learn that Blaze accepted the role of face of Deception without telling her. Nina wants to use Kristina's pregnancy as an excuse to reach out to Sonny, but she's worried that she'll come across as desperate. Maxie's like, "You will, because you are." She doesn't support Nina and Sonny getting back together, and she admits that she never liked Nina as Mrs. Corinthos. Her status as Sonny's wife eclipsed the rest of her life, and Maxie wants the old Nina back. Sam vents to Dante about how frustrated she is with Jason and how worried she is that Danny's going to act out again, probably sooner than later. She's pretty determined to keep the two of them apart. Kristina asks Dante to spend some time with Sonny, since he's struggling the most with Dante's shooting. Also, somehow Dante is already going home, despite only waking up the equivalent of two days ago. Chase wants to give Brook a honeymoon more special than just a trip to Palm Beach. I'm sure nothing will go wrong there. Sasha and Cody are filler.
Tracy practically has a neon sign over her head blaring, "JEALOUS OF ALEXIS."
I'd love for Stella to go over to Crimson's offices and tell Nina that she uses too many white models.
So Blaze came out to Natalia and...that's it? She's stopping there?
When it comes to her lack of patience for Nina, I am Maxie.

Laura and Kevin both notice changes in Heather, who acknowledges that she's ruined her life and done some horrible things. Kevin even asks Alexis about legal precedent for someone in Heather's situation to be cleared of the charges against her. Portia strongly objects to any thoughts the Collinses might be having about getting Heather released, and she vows to fight them if necessary. Terry thinks that Tracy might be depressed, so she urges her to find something that keeps her active. Tracy wants to rekindle her love of riding, and Cody is happy to work with her. He and Sasha agree that her bark is worse than her bite, though she does still have some bite. Also, Tracy says that Terry's probably the only person aware that it's her birthday, but Olivia manages to get her a cake even while trying to take care of Dante, which is just another example of how Tracy's family loves her even when she's not at her most lovable. Trina's still holding off on making any decisions about her future, especially related to her education. Curtis takes her to Bobbie's for lunch, but she has trouble being there because she associates it with Spencer. Curtis tells her to think of her grief and recovery like his recovery from his injury – she'll have to do some work before she gets where she wants to be. He also assures her that at some point in the future, she'll love again and be loved again. Josslyn finds out that Dex is applying to the PCPD and tells him he's an idiot because it'll make him a bigger target for Sonny. She admits that she's thinking of giving up pre-med because of all the work she'll have to put in as a doctor. Blaze smooths things over with Kristina about her new role at Deception, then warns that she's going to keep her personal life private, but only if that's okay with Kristina. Kristina's satisfied as long as they can be their authentic selves with each other and their families. Olivia puts Sasha to work cooking for Dante and is impressed with the results, so that could be a hint to what Sasha will end up doing for her next career. Laura wants to give all city employees access to medical treatment at GH, something Terry fully supports. I don't know if this is going to turn out to be important, but here it is on the record.
I'm not exactly a fan of Portia's, but she deserves a round of applause even bigger than the one Curtis got at Bobbie's (that was really sweet, by the way) for the reality check she gave Laura, Kevin, and Alexis. Portia, come join me on Team I Refuse to Endure a Heather Redemption Arc.
Seems to me like Heather's only remorseful about Brando's murder and no one else's.
Bold of Kevin to violate HIPAA within hearing distance of his boss.
So we have Alexis about to go back to law, Sasha leaving modeling, Josslyn thinking about switching her major, and Carly and Felicia both changing careers in the past few months. What's with the game of musical jobs?
How nice of the show to have Curtis mention the societal struggles of people with disabilities after they more or less wrote his out.
Josslyn, mind your own business. While you're at it, shut up.
April 5th, 2024
Josslyn tells Carly that Dex is joining the PCPD and rants about how much danger that'll put him in with Sonny. Kristina overhears and stands up for her father, which leads to a big fight between the ex-stepsisters. Molly tries to make peace, but Josslyn just drags her into it, urging her to show Kristina evidence that Sonny beat up Cyrus so Kristina will have to accept that her father is a ruthless killer. Anna questions Brennan about Pikeman, thinking that he used the money from that top-secret case they worked decades ago to fund it. Brennan claims not to know anything about Pikeman and implies that he was framed for his alleged crimes (though he also hints that he was sent to prison because someone didn't like the direction he was taking things with regard to Anna). She asks who's running Pikeman now, not believing that Brennan wouldn't hand-pick the person taking over something so important to him. He continues playing innocent, and she continues being in the dark about what Valentin's up to. Danny doesn't come home with Rocco and Scout, so Sam immediately thinks that he went to see Jason. She claims to believe him when he says he didn't, but she's going to turn on the tracking app on his phone, so you can forgive him for thinking that she doesn't trust him. Dante cautions her not to forbid Danny from seeing his father, since that'll just make him want to do it more. Sam knows that, but she has no idea how to keep them apart. John suspects that Drew and Jason will team up do to illegal things together, so he plans to dig around at Aurora and keep an eye on the good brother. Drew tells him he's free to do that, but Drew's going to make the unprompted investigation public, which the FBI probably won't appreciate. Natalia questions Brook's decisions as Blaze's manager, because if there's any area where Natalia can be difficult, that's what she's going to do. She mentions again that she wants to keep Blaze's personal life private, which Brook points out isn't part of her responsibilities as a music manager. Also, she knows that Blaze and Kristina are dating, and she knows that Sonny and Natalia are becoming friendly, and she warns that Sonny won't like it if Natalia tries to cover up his daughter's relationship. Speaking of Sonny and Natalia, they talk more about their daughters' sexuality and how much trouble Natalia's having accepting Blaze's. Sonny's still like, "Sorry, can't relate." There's a problem with Lila's wedding dress, but Brook and Lois appear to have gotten it fixed, so...good for them. Looks like they're still testing out a possible Drew/Jordan pairing.
Josslyn, see above re: shutting up. Then shut up. Seriously, enough with her and Kristina fighting. No one wants to see it.
Who under the age of 80 uses the word "ingrate"? You okay, Kristina?
I assume that Danny knows that Sam doesn't need a phone to track him.
Kudos to Danny for not point out when Sam said Jason lives a dangerous life that Dante kind of does, too.
Drew's been bugging me a lot lately, but if John does investigate Aurora, he should absolutely make it known to the public. Sounds like he would easily win a harassment suit.
"We have people in common" is such a funny thing to say about someone you're related to by blood.
Natalia should talk to Alexis, since she also had trouble accepting that Kristina was bi. No, wait, never mind – Natalia should go away.
Yeah, Sonny would never reject Kristina because of her sexuality! He only rejects his kids for keeping secrets and (checks notes) hiring people to protect him.
April 9th, 2024
Jason still owns half of Corinthos Coffee, so he tells Diane that he's going back to work there, apparently not caring what Sonny thinks. She's working on getting his money back to him, since his estate has been in probate this whole time and was never dispersed to Danny, Jake, and Carly. She tells him about the Nina saga and how Carly's been put through the wringer but is too resilient to let it stop her. Sonny eventually hears about Jason's return to work and goes to shut him down. Michael and Willow go to the Metro Court for an early anniversary dinner, and when Nina finds out, she goes overboard trying to help them celebrate. They get her to back off, which sends her whining to, of all people, Drew. She wants his help to convince Willow to get her another chance, which Drew refuses to do, of course. While they're fighting, somehow his shirt comes open, and she becomes hypnotized by his chest and they start making out, and I swear I am not making a word of this up. Carly comes across John as he's being jumped and chases off the assailants. He won't let her take him to the hospital, so she babysits him in his hotel room. Kristina catches up with Sonny, becoming the first person to notice that he's drinking again. Ava lurks around and eavesdrops as they talk about Josslyn, Blaze, Nina's return to Crimson, and how Kristina's okay with Blaze keeping her out of the spotlight because she wants to be known for her own accomplishments rather than a partner's. Willow seems to already be done with nursing, since the hours are so long and she doesn't get to see the kids enough. Michael suggests that she become a professional philanthropist, basically. Olivia pops in for three minutes of screentime, venting to Carly about Nina before disappearing for what will probably be at least two weeks.
It's a good thing Jason's estate didn't get dispersed because Carly would have lost that money, too.
Drew! Nina! You stop that right now! Don't make me come over there!
Also, thank God she can't get pregnant.
I have to say, I didn't expect Nina to hook up with someone before Sonny did.
If Drew did what Nina asked and talked to Willow about connecting with her, she'd be like, "You need to go to the hospital because I think you have a brain tumor."
Wherever this Carly/John stuff is going, stop it.
On top of not wanting to see Josslyn and Kristina fight anymore, I also don't want to hear about it anymore.
Ava, what are you doing and what's up with your hair?
"I know how important nursing is to you." Obviously not that important if she's thinking about leaving after less than a year.
April 10th, 2024
Sonny basically threatens to have Jason killed without saying it straight out. Jason won't back down from claiming his half of the coffee business, and he won't tell Sonny the details of his work for the FBI, so Sonny thinks he's being betrayed again. He's so paranoid and disbelieving about Jason ever being an ally that Jason thinks he's stopped taking his meds. Sonny happily says he is, which means Jason can't use his mental health against him, but since Ava takes some (because they cause drowsiness and she wants to fall asleep, you see) and they have no effect on her, so the lower-dosage pills are already in play. Sonny eventually okays Jason running the coffee warehouse, as if he's doing Jason a favor by allowing it, but he makes it clear that he doesn't want any kind of relationship with him. Drew and Nina have hate sex, after which she accuses him of orchestrating the whole thing because [logic not found]. She wants to spin their activities into a partnership that will get her back on Willow's good side [again, not logic not found]. Drew is amused by the whole thing and tells Nina that if she wants his help, she'll have to make it very worth his while. Since John refuses to go to the hospital and Carly thinks he has a concussion, she refuses to leave him alone overnight. He totally has a crush on her and she's totally feeding it, and I don't know where that's going but it can't be anywhere good. Blaze isn't completely convinced that Kristina's okay with keeping their relationship out of the spotlight, but Kristina thinks she's the one who has a problem with it. Blaze is inclined to go with what Natalia wants because she's always made good choices for her daughter. Kristina is a little surprised to realize that for once in her life, both of her parents are okay with her decisions. This leads to a conversation about Ava, who Kristina doesn't trust since Jeromes love power and Ava's always been shady. Portia shares her concerns with Curtis that Heather's convictions could be overturned. That seems to be what Kevin wants, since he'd feel better about his choices related to Ryan if Heather ended up rehabilitated. Plus, she could have a meaningful role in Ace's life.
Wow. Ava is truly an idiot.
I need to just...never see Drew and Nina in the same place at the same time ever again, if that's not too much to ask.
"Port Charles is a safe place." Really? For who?
I'm extremely happy that Kristina is keeping an eye on Ava and knows she probably has an ulterior motive.
Do people not think that HIPAA applies to Heather? Or maybe Portia thinks that spousal privilege extends to sharing other people's medical information.
I have no need or desire to ever see Obrecht again, but if they want to bring her back to yell at everyone talking about Heather's convictions getting overturned, I'll welcome it.
April 11th, 2024
Carly and Brennan continue their thing where half the stuff they say sounds like they're flirting. Nina catches Carly outside his hotel room while he's wearing a towel and assumes that they slept together. Instead of protesting, Carly tells her to find another way to entertain herself, and also do her job better, because the hotel has definitely declined in quality since Nina started working there. Nina is thrilled by the thought of various people's reactions to the supposed hook-up and barges into Drew's office to share the gossip with him. Since Michael's there, she's more than happy to tell them at the same time. Anna questions Valentin about Pikeman, and he answers everything with half-truths and fake innocence. He's calm the whole time until she mentions that she might go talk to Brennan again. He warns her to keep her distance from both Brennan and Pikeman, since they're dangerous, but Anna isn't the least bit intimidated. Brook loves her redesigned wedding dress and wants Lois to find an outfit she likes just as much, instead of something she just thinks is appropriate for a wedding. The joy continues when Chase reveals that he's arranged a honeymoon in Florence, a place Brook has always wanted to go. She's not as gleeful when she learns that he sold his truck to pay for it. Alexis and Nina fight more about Nina's changes at the Invader, and Alexis looks closer to walking out than she ever has. Molly comes to discuss a piece about Heather that quoted an anonymous source from the DA's office. Everyone thinks it's Molly, so she wants Alexis to reveal the source and get her off the hook. Alexis may not really like her job, but she won't do that. Molly's day gets better when Alexis gets notice that her appeal is moving forward and she even has a hearing date. T.J. thinks that he made a mistake agreeing to have Kristina be the surrogate and just went along with it because it was what Molly wanted. Marshall advises him to focus more on his relationship with Molly apart from the baby. Drew wants Aurora to get into the fitness/wellness business, so he calls in Curtis and Michael to discuss it. Curtis likes the idea, and Drew thinks he would be a good person to head up the project.
I see Nina learned nothing from that time she thought Willow and T.J. were hooking up and couldn't keep her mouth shut about it.
I wouldn't be surprised if Anna talked to Valentin about Pikeman because she knows he's still involved with them and wanted to gauge his response.
"Have I been to see Jack Brennan in Pentonville? No." Hee hee. Technically, that's true.
I can't remember the last time we saw so much prep for someone's wedding. It's...not that interesting.
Sandrine, when you're done with wedding stuff, please have a chat with T.J. about why he should never wear a brown shirt with gray pants ever again.
April 12th, 2024
Drew, Michael, and Curtis basically roll their eyes at Nina, who taunts that Drew is probably upset that Carly got over him so quickly. Michael runs straight to Carly and warns her that Nina's telling people that she slept with John. Carly isn't that concerned about that spreading, but she does give Jason a heads-up, along with the news that she saved John from his attackers, who she thinks Sonny sent. Jason wants to buy Nina's half of the Metro Court and give it back to Carly. Diane doubts that Carly will accept it, but she puts the wheels in motion anyway. Nina's resistant at first, knowing Jason's endgame, but she considers selling and does some negotiating. Brook wants to get Chase a new truck to replace the one he sold to pay for their honeymoon. Tracy talks her out of it by warning that he won't want his rich wife financing everything in their lives. Brook starts worrying that, like all Quartermaine marriages, theirs won't last. Tracy convinces her that she and Chase are solid and there's nothing to worry about. Haven doesn't want to air a scheduled Deception segment since Lucy's going to appear instead of Sasha. Lucy blames Maxie's loyalty to Brook for the company's upheaval, while Maxie blames Lucy's self-centeredness. They call a truce and Maxie changes Haven's mind, so it looks like everything will turn out okay. Then Lucy does exactly what Maxie called her out for, talking about nothing but herself. Alexis is anxious about her hearing and the possibility of not being able to handle negative results. Gregory tells her to think about the situation as being like skydiving – it was a risk, but it was one worth taking. Sasha and Cody are, believe it or not, even more boring than they usually are.
I guess Nina isn't worried that Drew will tell Sonny that she slept with someone else, which will give him yet another reason to be mad at her.
Carly asking if Nina's going to put her and John on the front page of the Invader makes me think that she'll tell the gossip columnist and let him run with it.
Can we get scenes between Jason and anyone other than Carly, Sonny, and Diane? Where's Spinelli? Where's the inevitably tense Jason/Drew run-in we all know is coming?
It would have been awesome if Diane hadn't told Nina that Jason was the client making the offer on the hotel and the whole deal had gone through without her knowing.
Yeah, Lucy, Maxie's friendship with Brook is the problem here. It's definitely not your all-consuming hatred of Tracy.
ENOUGH WITH HOME & HEART ALREADY.
April 15th, 2024
Carly and Jason talk about Sonny, specifically how he's changed since Nixon Falls and what Michael did to try to take him down. Part of Carly wants to turn her back and stop caring about her ex, but she and Jason both know they'll never be able to do that. Lucy goes totally off the rails on Home & Heart, so Maxie summons Scott to get her under control. When that doesn't work, Brook has Lois fetch Sasha. Sasha saves the day and the sales are worth all the trouble, but Lucy has no idea that she's done anything wrong, so she'll probably just do it again. Nina is disheartened with the lack of progress Ava has made getting Sonny to soften toward her. Ava tries to spin his avoidance of her as a conversation topic as a good thing. Nina thinks she can win some points by selling her half of the hotel to Jason, and Ava tells her that Sonny will definitely appreciate it. Tracy is quietly delighted to hear that Alexis won't be at the wedding after all, meaning she'll have Gregory all to herself. John thinks that Sonny and Jason are going to reconnect and be partners in crime again, but Anna tells him that Sonny tried to get her to arrest Jason, so that's probably not going to happen any time soon. Speaking of Jason, she's not happy that John is using him as Pikeman bait. Tracy, Cody, Sasha...whatever, no one cares.
Oh, good, Lucy learned nothing. That's fantastic.
Should've called your mom, Maxie.
I have no words for Nina's complaints about Drew barging in unannounced when she does the same thing all the time.
Those Lois/Gregory scenes were the epitome of filler.
Sasha and Cody are getting way too much screentime for characters with absolutely nothing going on.
April 16th, 2024
Brick lets Sonny know that a couple of his guys had an, ahem, encounter with John that was interrupted by a good Samaritan (he doesn't mention that that was Carly). Sonny is less worried about John than he is Dex, who's smarter. Maxie's still hesitant to get back together with Spinelli because she doesn't want to hurt him again and doesn't think she could handle another breakup. Felicia points out that her reunion with Mac worked out great, so it's entirely possible that Maxie and Spinelli's will, too. She also thinks that Maxie is more worried than Spinelli is, which means he's willing to take the risk. Laura tells Jordan that she can't figure out why she's been going easy on Sonny. She'd almost like to see him face the consequences of attacking Cyrus, but that's out of her hands. Trina's a little frustrated that her, Josslyn, and Dex's friendship has been disrupted and neither of them will tell her why they broke up. She reminds them that life is short, so they need to get it together. Josslyn and Dex agree that they can put their issues aside to be there for Trina, but Josslyn still doesn't like the idea of Dex becoming a cop. He explains his decision, seeming pretty confident that it's a good one and that Sonny won't come after him. Ava continues being Sonny's BFF, implying that she's annoyed with Nina for not giving up on their marriage. T.J. apparently isn't allowed to talk about anything except the baby and his reservations about Kristina, which means Gregory's appointment with him contains barely any conversation about his health. Jordan and Brick flirt, and she's obviously tempted to agree to go on a date, but she doesn't.
I really hope that all the actors who aren't currently getting significant screentime are being held in reserve for some incredibly exciting plots.
Unless Sonny's office is soundproof, Avery just overheard a lot of stuff she shouldn't have.
Oh, yay, more Gregory filler.
If Jordan's romantic options are Drew and Brick, she should stay single.
April 17th, 2024
Laura and Anna are on the same page about not giving Sonny special treatment and letting him deal with any consequences that might result from his actions. To that end, Laura suggests to Cyrus that he reconsider not pressing charges for his assault. Cyrus admits that he got his radio show from Nina in exchange for not going after Sonny, and that he provoked Sonny in the first place. That said, he ended his radio show and might be ready to pursue justice instead of mercy. Brook and Chase discuss the fact that they come from different backgrounds (though she maintains that her upbringing was pretty middle-class) and have different views of money. He suggests that they use the interest from her Quartermaine riches for their kids but focus more on the non-material things they want them to have. Alexis and Finn agree to support each other through their respective difficulties and help maintain their sobriety. Elizabeth asks Gregory for his insight on Jake and Jason's estrangement, since he has experience in that area. He basically says to give it time because Jake will get over it. Bennett updates Anna on Dex's progress applying to the PCPD, which has been positive. However, Bennett doesn't think he should be a cop – he's motivated by penance because he worked for Sonny, which could make him reckless.
So Laura thinks that Anna's gone easy on Sonny because of her and that Cyrus didn't press charges against Sonny because of her? I don't think the writers know who they're writing for.
Brook and Chase's relationship is too healthy for a soap. Something horrible is going to happen to them, isn't it?
Chase still has a wine guy. That's continuity, baby!
Gregory's awfully optimistic about Jake and Jason repairing things, as if he's forgotten that he and Finn were estranged for 30 years.
What is this, Everyone Opens Up to Gregory Week?
April 18th, 2024
Ava discovers that Sonny's pills are only at a fifth of the dosage they should be. She doesn't tell him, but she does let him know that Dex is applying to the PCPD. Michael teases Carly about her new "boyfriend," who Josslyn thinks she might actually like. She's definitely flirtatious with John, who jokingly accuses her of having him attacked, then gives her his number. Cyrus tells Anna he's ready to make a statement about his assault. He not only names Sonny as his attacker, he also mentions that Dex may have come to kill him. Later, he runs into Dex, who apologizes for what he almost did and says he's trying to make things right. Cyrus replies that he is, too. Lois bugs Sonny about going to the wedding, because apparently Brook's day would be ruined if the guy she kind of thinks of as an uncle and sees a couple times a month didn't show up. Dex is an ideal candidate for the PCPD, but Bennett's still unsure that bringing him on is worth the risk. Finn dropped the ball on Chase's bachelor party, so Dante spends his first day back at work trying to throw something together. Lois wants to wrest some wedding-planning stuff away from Tracy, as well as quietly make backup plans in case Gregory can't fulfill his duties.
So much of this week has felt like filler. They'd better be gearing up for something big in the next few weeks.
Carly called Michael for help instead of Jason? Is she sick?
Do they really need mob security at a wedding that will be attended by a bunch of cops?
Way to wait until the last minute to plan the bachelor party, Finn. More like worst man, am I right?

Carly and Jason talk about his tattoo and how much they missed each other and blah, blah, blah, let's move on. Diane finalizes the sale of Nina's half of the hotel to Jason, who immediately gives it to Carly. She's a little disappointed that she didn't get it back herself, but she's not going to turn it down. Sonny feels like everyone he used to be able to trust (minus Dante and Kristina) has turned against him, so he's grateful for Ava's apparent loyalty. To her credit, she does try to stick up for Dex, but Sonny's practically plotting his death out loud in between talking about how he needs to defend himself against Jason. It gets worse when he learns that Jason bought Nina's half of the hotel to give back to Carly, and he says the three of them are traitors who deserve each other. Josslyn begs Anna not to let Dex join the PCPD, since it'll make him a target. Anna is sure that they'll be able to offer him all the protection he needs. Josslyn's basically like, "When he gets killed, I'm going to spend his whole funeral glaring at you." Anna then doubles down on bringing Sonny to justice, making plans to give the case to Molly once she's ready to pull the trigger. Molly can't convince her that having him prosecuted by a blood relative is insane. Nina is happy to offload her half of the hotel, still convinced that it'll endear her to Sonny. Drew somehow doesn't laugh in her face. When she hears Sonny calling Carly and Jason traitors, she seems to think the blame lies with Ava. Danny sneaks into Jason's room, like, do you want to be mistaken for an intruder and shot like Charlotte was? Brook, Lois, and Olivia are here to remind us that there is wedding stuff going on, in case we could have forgotten, which is impossible, because no episode has gone 15 minutes without a discussion about it.
What if Carly hadn't accepted Jason's offer and he'd had to go to the hotel like, "Hi, Olivia. How do I run this thing?"
I'm just waiting for Sonny to, like, plant a bomb in Jason's room and hurt Danny instead.
Josslyn...don't you have a class to go to or something?
Why is Anna so obsessed with Molly prosecuting Sonny?
Look, I like Brook and Chase. I do. But I don't need to hear about their wedding EVERY SINGLE DAY.

Nina calls Ava out for making her believe she was going to go to bat for Nina with Sonny, then making moves that benefited herself. She suspects that Ava has been manipulating things so she can have Sonny for herself. She threatens to tell Sonny that Ava knew that Nina was the whistleblower and didn't tell him, but Ava isn't worried, since she doubts that Sonny would believe Nina. She taunts that Nina doesn't know Sonny as well as she does and that Nina's spent the past two years clinging to someone who doesn't exist. Nina finally admits defeat, signing her divorce papers and returning her rings to Sonny. Jason takes Danny straight home, where Sam laments that just telling Danny to stay away from his father didn't accomplish what she wanted it to. She can't really blame Jason for Danny coming to see him, but that doesn't help her feel better about the risk his presence brings their son. Jason says he'll set boundaries and be honest with Sam when Danny comes to see him, but he can't change the fact that Danny's his son. Sam admits that part of her hesitance at letting them get close is that she doesn't know if Jason will be around long-term. Kristina demonstrates that she's a terrific aunt, whisking Danny away so his parents can fight and letting him open up about how he feels about Jason's return. He's thrilled about it and feels like Jason understands him better than Sam does. He also suspects that Sam isn't as worried about his safety as she is about the fact that he's a lot like Jason. In fact, he thinks that Sam wishes he were more like Rocco. Kristina tries to get him to see the situation from Sam's perspective and understand how complicated it is for her. Sonny goes on and on about betrayal and all that stuff once again, and for some reason, Carly thinks this is their final breaking point, as if they're going to stop having any contact with each other. Kristina expresses her concerns to Sam about how much time Sonny and Ava are spending together. Because of what Ava did to Morgan, Kristina can't fully trust her or be okay with her being around Sonny. Sam acknowledges that it's not an ideal situation, but since Sonny and Ava are adults and can make their own decisions, Kristina can't do anything. Drew throws Nina a bone (...not like that) by reaching out to Willow on her behalf. Lois and Maxie kill some time talking about Deception.
I hate agreeing with Ava. It makes me feel so wrong.
I'm surprised that Jason's the only person to suggest that Sonny's acting like this because of his bipolar disorder, because if I were Carly, that would be my first assumption.
Morgan mention – drink! Also, take, like, half a drink because Ava indirectly mentioned Kiki.
Once again, Josslyn gets shoehorned into something that has nothing to do with her.

Brook and Chase's bachelor and bachelorette parties are well-attended by people in good moods who want to celebrate them. But after a few strong drinks, Josslyn can't keep her mouth shut anymore about Sonny, and she tells Kristina that he ordered Dex to kill Cyrus. Some of the guys in the PCPD aren't welcoming of Dex, so Dante makes a show of welcoming him to the party and makes sure they overhear him mentioning that Dex helped save his life. He warns Dex that he's in for some rocky times with guys who don't like that he used to work for Sonny. Anna notes that of course they'll suspect that Dex is feeding information to Sonny, but she also suspects that Dante's worried that he'll give up something that will land Sonny in prison. Drew and Jordan continue getting friendly. Trina's hesitant to go to Brook's party, but with some encouragement from Stella, she has a great time.
We need more episodes where a bunch of people get drunk.
After all this happiness, I'm surer than ever that there will be some big disaster at the wedding. So what will it be? Hostage crisis? Mass poisoning? Tsunami?
Lois and Olivia's ridiculous dance moves were hilarious.
"And then Josslyn and Kristina fight again." This is not good writing! This is the opposite of good writing! MAKE IT STOP!
I like how Brook and Willow, who never interact with Trina, didn't just say hi to her and then go off and hang out with other people. I know Brook was a little tipsy, but she acted like she'd been waiting all night for Trina to show up. Maybe Trina will start hanging out with people other than Josslyn.

Josslyn decides that Jason's the person to talk to about her fight with Kristina, which even she thinks crossed a line. Really, her issue is that Sonny turned Dex into someone who would be willing to kill for money, and now he sees Dex as a traitor. She thinks Jason should be more upset than he is that Sonny sees him as a traitor, too. Jason notes that Sonny is much different than he used to be and vows to keep an eye out for Dex. Finn and Chase find Gregory in the middle of a medical crisis that he tries to downplay. Brook, Chase, and Lois think it means he won't be able to officiate the wedding, and they consider canceling. Gregory guesses that that's what they're thinking and calls Tracy so she can order them to stick to their plans. Kristina goes to Molly to complain about Josslyn, who she thinks lied about Sonny sending Dex after Cyrus. Molly keeps her mouth shut and tries to stay diplomatic, even when Kristina paints Sonny as a great person who doesn't deserve all the hatred he gets. Sam vents to Dante about the danger Jason poses to Danny and how she can't do much to keep them apart. Dante can relate to a teenager wanting to know his father, and he wants to make sure that Sam doesn't make Danny feel like he's doing something wrong. She's worried that Danny will start gravitating toward Jason and get further away from her, making her the disciplinarian while Jason gets to be the fun parent. Like Dante, Anna acknowledges that Dex is in for an uphill battle joining the PCPD, but she thinks that once he shows his new colleagues who he is and what he's there for, they'll come around. See yesterday re: Jordan and Drew.
A WHOLE EPISODE of Jason and Josslyn talking before we get even one Jason/Spinelli or Jason/Drew scene. Sigh.
Hey, Josslyn finally became self-aware! It's a four-months-post-Christmas miracle! It's Kristina's turn next.
"Everything is going to be fine that day." Sure, Gregory! Nothing will go wrong!
Why did Lois and Brook think the only two options were finding a religious officiant or canceling the wedding? Just have Tracy get ordained.
April 25th, 2024
Jason tries to convince Sonny that if Dex were going to tell the police anything about his business, he would have done it by now. Sonny doesn't listen, of course, so Jason uses Kristina to pressure him to behave himself, since killing Dex would hurt her. Sonny thinks Jason should worry more about his own children than Sonny's, and he warns that if Jason gets in his way, he'll pay with his life. Kristina gets nosey about Carly's return to the Metro Court, and while Carly's resisting talking about it, she more or less confirms that Sonny sent Dex to kill Cyrus. Kristina turns to Nina, who rants about Ava and makes Kristina surer than ever that she doesn't have Sonny's best interests at heart. Nina also informs her that Ava suggested she blow the whistle on Carly and Drew, which means Kristina now has some ammo against Sonny's current biggest ally. Trina wants to spend more time with Ace, which Laura and Ava think might indicate that she's having trouble moving on from Spencer. T.J. continues worrying that Kristina's not taking good enough care of herself and will endanger the baby. Molly is a lot more patient about it than I would be. Brook doesn't like that Natalia is keeping Blaze in the closet, and though she acknowledges that coming out could lose Blaze some fans, she thinks it would benefit her to be open. She defers to Blaze, however, and since Blaze doesn't want to put her relationship with Kristina at risk, in the closet she will stay (for now). Drew is happy that Carly got her half of the hotel back, though he wishes that he'd been the one to make the deal. She's glad that almost everything is the way it should be, but he indicates that he's still working on something. I beg the writers to stop making us watch Drew/Nina scenes
In addition to the "do you want to have to answer Kristina when she asks if you killed Dex?" card, Jason should play the "do you want Dante to have you arrest you for murder?" card.
Hmm, this is new for Kristina. Usually she's the last one to know something, not one of the first.
Morgan mention – drink!
Also, thank you, Kristina, for alluding to the fact that Ava murdered Connie, which no one ever talks about.
"Clinging to the past"? Spencer's only been gone for three months! Let Trina hang out with Ace!
If T.J. trashes Kristina one more time, I might scream.

Sonny wants to commission and donate some art to the city, which Laura tells him won't be accepted. She warns him that no one is going to let him slide on anything anymore, and he needs to familiarize himself with accountability. Of course, Sonny just sees this as someone else turning on him, and of course, Ava sees it as another chance to be his ally. Finn wants Gregory to get a home health aide in case he has another emergency like he did when he was alone with Violet. Gregory objects to what he sees as being treated like a child, but Finn needs to make sure that Violet is emotionally secure, and if that means Gregory moves out, so be it. Tracy agrees with Finn, advising Gregory to suck it up and stay with his family rather than cling to his autonomy and move into an assisted-living facility. Finn discusses the situation with Alexis, who reminds him to prioritize his sobriety. Nina tells Carly that she should credit Ava with the return of her half of the hotel, since she's the one who convinced Nina to go through with it by making her think that it would please Sonny. She expresses her concerns about Sonny and Ava's closeness, and for the first time possibly ever, Carly finds herself agreeing with her. Apparently Sasha's cooking a few weeks ago was so good that Olivia wants to hire her to cook for the Quartermaines. The offer of a place to live along with the job is partly what seals the deal, but the fact that she'll get to hang out with Cody all the time probably helps. Molly asks Alexis to talk to Kristina about dropping her pro-Sonny crusade so T.J. will calm down.
Willow should be Gregory's home health caregiver. She'd have consistent hours and input into her schedule, but she'd still get to be a nurse.
Can we please get Gregory into a support group or something? His attitude is getting on my nerves.
Morgan mention – drink!
If Molly wants T.J. to chill, she should ask Stella to talk to him. Or lock him and Kristina in a room until he gets over his problems with her.

Valentin meets with Brennan and lets him know that their plans for Sonny are going exactly the way they'd hoped. They turn their focus to Jason, figuring out that some three-letter organization must have planted him inside Pikeman. Since he knows too much to let live, they plan to kill him and frame Sonny. Valentin is confident that Anna isn't suspicious of him, but Brennan, knowing that she's his weakness, warns him to keep his distance so she doesn't catch on. Anna thinks that her past with Valentin means she can't trust her judgment on Pikeman, so she asks Jason to work with her. Contrary to what Valentin thinks, Anna is sure that he's involved and is in a position to make decisions with Brennan. Jason agrees to get more information on what he knows and to see if Dex can provide anything helpful. Ava visits Nikolas and spends the whole time talking about Sonny. She confirms Nikolas' suspicions that she's buddying up to Sonny because she likes being part of his inner circle, mostly because, for once, Carly, isn't in it. She mentions Sonny's medication and her intention to find out who messed with it, likely so she can expose them and be seen as a hero. Nikolas thinks she's playing a dangerous game. Kristina asks Dex is Sonny ordered him to kill Cyrus, and though Dex won't answer, she can tell that it's true. Further conversation lets Kristina know that Sonny's behavior started getting erratic after the shooting attempt in Puerto Rico. Josslyn apologizes to Kristina for their fight, then tells Dex that she thinks he's in the clear. John learns that Carly got her half of the hotel back because of Jason, and it feels like he's starting to understand for the first time just how deep their relationship is. Also, he's really not happy that Jason's buying expensive things for his friends instead of looking into Pikeman, so he reminds Jason that if he doesn't do what he's been coerced to do, Carly will lose the hotel, plus everything else, because she'll go to prison. Drew wants Willow to be the spokesperson for a non-profit that coordinates bone-marrow transplants. For some reason, Michael gets input. Drew and Nina fight and then have sex again.
I love so much that Valentin has no idea that Anna's on to him and is 95 percent of the way to putting everything together.
How does Valentin know how isolated Sonny is?
It would be hilarious if Valentin got Nikolas' transfer halted just so he could keep going to Pentonville pretending to visit him.
I'm sorry, Ava's doing all of this because of Carly? Carly, who doesn't give a crap about what kind of power she does or doesn't have?
I can't believe Josslyn's head didn't explode when she saw Dex and Kristina talking.
Why did Drew invite Michael to a meeting that only concerned Willow?
April 30th, 2024
Valentin is so clueless about Anna's certainty that he's connected to Pikeman that he wants to rekindle things with her. She declines, but he seems to think she'll change her mind. Dex can not only connect Valentin to Hume, he can prove that Valentin was in Port Charles the day of the pool shooting, when he'd told Anna he was out of the country. When Jason shares this with Anna, she responds by agreeing to have dinner with Valentin. Willow narrowly misses catching Drew and Nina together but doesn't seem to suspect anything, even though it's glaringly obvious that something weird is going on there. Thinking that they've been having a budget meeting, Willow decides that since Drew has gotten past his problems with Nina enough to work with her, she might be able to do the same. While telling Maxie that she's had a breakthrough with Willow, Nina accidentally spills that she and Drew have hooked up twice. She admits that she hates herself for it, but she needs Drew on her side because he may be the key to fixing things with Willow. Sasha "auditions" for the job at the Quartermaines' with a dish that turns out to be a big hit. Before she gets the verdict, she nervously turns to Cody, who gives her the encouragement she needs. She rewards him with a kiss. They get interrupted before they can discuss it, but they'll have plenty of time for that because Olivia offers Sasha the job. She can tell that something's brewing between her two employees, and she tells them that they're free to do whatever they want on their own time (which she appears to support, since she thinks they're cute together), they need to keep it away from the various kids who pop in and out of the mansion. Jason lets Dex know that he's going to make sure Sonny doesn't go after him. In return, he'd like to know when Sonny started acting so unlike himself. It's probably going to get worse, since Dex has been accepted into the police academy. Natalia is suspicious of Brook and whether she's just a spoiled rich kid who sees music as a hobby. Maxie tries to reassure her that she has Blaze's best interests at heart, but after Blaze's experiences with Linc, Natalia is overly cautious.
Valentin to Anna after Charlotte's shooting: "I can never forgive you." Valentin to Anna after Charlotte leaves the country: "U up?"
With Charlotte gone, they need another teen girl for shenanigans with Jake, Danny, Rocco, and Georgie. I nominate Lila Rae.
I cannot believe that having sex with Drew is benefitting Nina's relationship with Willow.
Natalia really doesn't trust Blaze's judgment, does she? Like, hey, did you ever think that maybe your daughter knows what she's doing working with Brook? Don't you think that she's as wary as you are of history repeating itself?
