Laura, Portia, and Curtis arrive in France to the bad news that rescuers haven't been able to find Spencer and Esme. Though they're both presumed dead, Trina refuses to believe that Spencer's love for her didn't keep him alive. Laura's a little more realistic, but she doesn't want Trina to give up hope that he'll turn up okay. Portia's just sorry that her months-long wish that Trina would be free of Spencer came true like this. As Trina struggles with the thought of saying goodbye to Spencer and going home, his turtledove washes up on some shore. Lois has totally taken over planning Brook and Chase's wedding, and they're too chicken to tell her that they don't like any of her ideas. They figure that Tracy will handle that for them, but thanks to Gregory, who asked her to get along better with Lois, she just agrees to whatever Lois wants. Brook admits that she doesn't want to shoot down Lois' ideas because she's Lois' only child and can't dash her mother's dreams. Tracy agrees to play the bad guy and give the bride and groom the classy, fancy wedding they want. The rehearsal dinner, however, will be at Coney Island and will be nothing but fun. Drew's still mad at Michael for his part in the whole Nina mess, but he acknowledges that his anger is misplaced and Nina's the real villain here. Michael wants to resign from Aurora, partly because he doesn't like how Drew made the decision to fire Nina and replace her with Carly without consulting him. Drew asks him to stay on and help him get further revenge on Nina, ruining her life until Drew is satisfied that she's suffered as much as she made him suffer. Michael declines, not wanting to dig himself in deeper with Willow than he already has. But Drew is totally okay with that, and he appreciates that Michael expressed his objections and was transparent. That should mean that their continued partnership will go well. Adam's father continues to be a jerk, but Willow and Felicia shut him down and assure Adam that he gets to make his own decisions about what he does next and how involved he wants his parents to be. Before he does anything else, Adam thanks Josslyn for saving him and they repair their friendship. Then he announces that he's staying in Port Charles, changing his major to music, and will be communicating with his parents on his own terms.

Finola Hughes is going to have to fight Genie Francis for the lead-actress Emmy this year.

Reason #1,483 that Trina's awesome: She took the time to ask Laura how Kevin is.

Sorry, but the turtledoves just don't have the same impact as the dragon and phoenix.

It took Laura, Curtis, and Portia 24 hours to get to the boat? That jet's not so great.

Interesting choice to do the presumed-dead thing with a character everyone knows is coming back.

Today Mr. Wright learned that there isn't one woman in Port Charles he should mess with. (The rest of us already knew that.)

Kevin comforts Laura, who isn't too lost in grief over Spencer to tell Sonny that his attack on Cyrus was unacceptable and he needs to curb the violence. Speak of the devil, Cyrus shows up to offer condolences. As upset as Laura is with Sonny for assaulting him, she's much more upset with Cyrus for...well, take your pick. Laura then gets two more visitors who are sure to bring up more mixed emotions for her: Nikolas and Ace. Carly runs into a customer named John who mentions that he worked at Kelly's years ago. While Carly and Olivia are discussing the fact that Olivia hid the whistleblower stuff from Carly (honestly, Carly doesn't seem all that committed to being mad), John notices that Leo is anxious and using his fidget spinner. He distracts Leo, which might be sketchy in other circumstances, but he's an FBI agent and explains to Olivia that he has a son on the spectrum. Anna and Jordan set up a fake buy with an arms dealer who sells guns stolen from the WSB. Jordan fools him for a while, and he implies that he has another client in town. As Anna and Jordan are requesting his full client list, John and a couple other FBI agents burst in. It takes Anna a few moments, but she recognizes him as Jagger. Trina confides to Josslyn that she doesn't feel as certain about Spencer coming back as she was in Greenland. Josslyn uses her own experiences with Oscar's death to offer her support and empathy. Nina segues from "I'm sorry about your near-death experience, Ava" to "does Sonny ever talk about me?" a little too easily.

Who in the world was like, "You know what? Let's bring back Jagger"?

I thought Leo's last name was Quartermaine.

Snarky Jordan is the best Jordan. I also enjoyed Anna and John telling the dealer in unison to shut up, and him sitting right back down and going, "Okay."

What horrible timing for Eden McCoy to come back from grieving a death and have to dive right into a plotline about death.

"It seems the universe decided that one crisis at a time isn't enough." Welcome to February sweeps!

February 5th, 2024

Nikolas blames himself for Spencer's death, while Laura tells him that Esme is the only person responsible. She realizes that he doesn't plan to stick around, and she says that Ace would be better off without him if that's the kind of man he is. Nikolas agrees, feeling like he's lost his chance to be a good father. Laura convinces him to turn himself in for what he did to Esme so he can start making amends and one day have a life with Ace. Anna and Jordan try to convince John to deputize them so they can help the FBI find Curtis' shooter. John is reluctant even before they indicate that they'll share information with Sonny, since they think he was the intended target. He'll only tell them that the guns stolen from the WSB have been used in shootings all over the country. When Anna and Jordan won't agree to work with him on his terms, he arrests them for obstructing his investigation. Lucy's annoyed that Scott hasn't made any progress with Tracy, but it's not like she's fully focused on their plans, since she's distracted by Martin's radio silence after their fight. She tracks him down and tries to make up with him, but he's decided that life is too short to keep fighting for something that isn't working, so they're done. Lucy goes back to Scott, who's basically like, "I'm sorry you got your heart broken; let's make out." Sonny tells Dante about the incident on the island and his lack of information on how his rock-solid security could have been breached. Dante suspects an inside job and considers everyone close to Sonny guilty until proven innocent. Sam and Alexis reminisce about Spencer while putting together his obituary. Though they have lots of fun, happy memories of him, Alexis is pretty crushed by his "death." Tracy is overly interested in Lucy and Martin's relationship, and it's almost like she feels bad for being partly to blame for their problems.

John is free to hate Sonny all he wants, of course, but for him to say that Sonny only cares about himself when he's the one who took care of John's brother while he was dying is laughable.

What is it about Scott that makes Lucy keep going back to him? I just don't get it.

Alexis thinking she caused Spencer's "death" by giving Esme a job is some Olympic-level reaching.

Sam: "I bet I can cheer you up with one word." Me: "Doubtful, but go ahead." Sam: "Chupacabra." Me: "...Okay, yeah, you're right."

February 6th, 2024

Dante urges Anna and Jordan to cooperate with John and leave him to do his investigation. Robert is on John's side about basically everything, but he asks him to drop the charges against Anna and Jordan anyway. He promises to keep an eye on the women and make sure they stay out of trouble. John drops the charges, but Anna has already come up with a way she and Jordan can keep investigating: She'll accept Laura's offer to be the commissioner again, and John will have to play nice with her to get the PCPD's cooperation with his investigation. After getting reassurance that Brick is 100 percent loyal, Sonny expresses his concerns that there's a rat in his organization. Brick brings up his longheld suspicions about Dex, suggesting that he pretended to save the day on the island because it's a great cover for treachery. Brick vows to uncover the rat, and Sonny vows to make Dex pay if it's him. This makes it a really bad time for Michael to give Dex more money to snoop around and find the mole himself. Tracy confesses to Martin that she manipulated him and more or less caused his breakup with Lucy. He's furious about that, though he knows that if that's all it took to break them up, there was already a problem. Martin goes to try to patch things up with Lucy, but she's already slept with Scott, and Martin decides that that means she's made her choice. Tracy blames Gregory for her decision to come clean, telling him that ever since she's become friends with him, she's gone soft. Gregory laughs at her for thinking it's bad that she's nicer, and she comments that he's not the one who has to live with the consequences. She immediately regrets that, but it just makes Gregory laugh more, since he appreciates that at least one person in his life isn't tiptoeing around his condition.

Yes, Anna! Do more stuff that knocks that smug look off of John's face!

I love how Dante was just barely hiding his amusement over Anna and Jordan's arrests, and Robert didn't even both to try to mask it.

Ooh, is Sonny finally going to find out how Dex really came to work for him? They put that on the backburner for a long time.

Tracy may have "poisoned" Lucy and Martin's relationship but everything she said was true. Scott and Lucy are like Sonny and Carly – they can't stay away from each other.

Raise your hand if you care even the slightest bit about Scott and Lucy. Yeah, thought so.

February 7th, 2024

The aftermath of Spencer's funeral is pretty depressing, but at least Cameron came to town for it. Kevin and Elizabeth hang back before going to the reception, wanting to honor Esme despite, you know, everything. Heather is allowed to come to her grave, and she tears into Kevin for trying to rehabilitate Ryan, which allowed him to get access to Esme, which she claims she never wanted to happen. She doesn't hold a grudge against Elizabeth, though, and she even asks Elizabeth to keep an eye on Laura and Kevin to make sure they're doing right by Ace. Trina is somewhere between the anger and depression stages of grief, and she doesn't see a point in ever going back to college. Her life has no meaning because Spencer's life is over. Michael and Willow are making the co-parenting-but-living-apart thing work, though the tension between them is mostly gone, and it looks like she's close to dropping the whole thing. She urges him to reach out to Sonny, who he hasn't talked to yet about exposing Nina as the whistleblower, and assures him that they'll be able to work things out like they always do. Finn sees for himself that Gregory's symptoms are worsening, and he has trouble accepting that there's nothing he can do. He tells Elizabeth that he's realized that Gregory won't be able to live on his own much longer. Dante lets Sonny know that Anna and Jordan are looking into Curtis' shooting, but he stops short of mentioning that the FBI is now involved, which means Sonny also doesn't get a heads-up that John is in town. Cyrus does that thing he always does where he asks for another chance and Laura's like, "Yeah, sure, whatever."

I really appreciate that they brought Cameron back for this.

"I don't think I've ever known anyone as alone as Esme." Yes, well, that can happen when you're mean to everyone.

I assume Nikolas wasn't at the funeral or reception because he's still in lockup, but a) someone should have mentioned that and b) Heather was allowed to go, so...

Speaking of which, only one guard with Heather, who's notorious for escaping custody? Come on.

February 8th, 2024

Michael apologizes to Sonny for everything he screwed up for him and promises to respect whatever decision Sonny makes about Nina. Sonny still isn't thrilled with everything he did other than telling Sonny the truth, but, like Carly, I really don't think he's that committed to carrying a grudge. In even better news for Michael, Willow is just about ready to let him move back home. Anna regains her position as commissioner and quickly starts to working with John. He tells her, Jordan, and Dante that there have been a string of hits on high-level mob employees committed with the weapons stolen from the WSB. Thanks to confidentiality issues, Dante isn't allowed to warn Sonny, even though he's worried that Sonny's focus on a possible rat will keep him from seeing the real threat coming. Anna convinces John to give Sonny a heads-up by playing the "what would Stone want?" card. Nina tells Martin about her plans to start her own magazine and poach all her former employees from Carly. She thinks it'll be easy because she still has connections with all the people who would contribute to her success, like advertisers. Brook teams up with Carly to win over one of those advertisers, but Nina still plans to find a way to get her ex-employees' NDAs tossed. Willow addresses Drew's desire to continue getting revenge on Nina, all but asking him to let it go. Drew just doubles down on his no-more-Mr.-Nice-Guy thing, basically saying that Victor broke him and he has no intention of being as forgiving as Willow has always been. Finn tells Chase that he thinks Gregory should move in with him. Chase doesn't think they need to do anything right now, since Gregory's condition hasn't declined enough for that, and because nothing bad has happened yet, like, Chase, this is supposed to help prevent that. More understandably, he doesn't want to take away Gregory's independence before it's necessary. But Gregory has already been thinking about this as well, and after a conversation with Lois about how her family has always lived together, he asks if he can move in with Finn and Violet.

Ugh, we're just going to have to go through another round of this Sonny/Michael stuff when the truth about Dex inevitably comes out.

John gets that Sonny's children could be in danger, right? Like, if he doesn't want to help criminals, fine, but if Donna or Avery gets hurt because Sonny didn't know there was a threat out there, it's not going to matter whether John followed protocol.

Yeah, no one wants a storyline about Carly running a magazine. Work-centric storylines are boring.

So I guess when Drew says he would do anything for the people he loves, that doesn't include dropping his vendetta against Nina because Willow wants him to.

February 9th, 2024

John is able to put his hatred for Sonny aside for, like, two minutes to warn him that mobsters are being targeted by the same person who shot Curtis. Sonny doesn't seem too concerned. Brick notices that Dex has some extra spending money and does some digging into his finances. He reluctantly gives up a date-ish outing with Jordan so he can share with Sonny that Dex has a secret foreign bank account. Drew negotiates a deal with a Crimson advertiser who promises to stay on if Carly is the editor long-term. Carly's annoyed to have to have that conversation again. Somehow the topic switches to Drew's desire to crush Nina, which Carly doesn't support and doesn't want him to try to get Michael to support. She eventually says that she'll only stay on at Crimson if Drew lets go of his grudge. Willow wants to take her and Michael's reconciliation slowly, but she acknowledges all the work he's been doing to make up for the hurt he's caused. Cody orchestrates an axe-throwing competition to ensure that Maxie and Spinelli win a night out together. Spinelli insists that he doesn't want the help and doesn't have romantic feelings for Maxie, but Cody doesn't believe him. He gives Spinelli some pointers to win, but he didn't count on Sasha being so good. Josslyn's having some trouble balancing her need to grieve Spencer in her own way with giving Trina the support she needs.

I like the theory floating around that Jason (brainwashed or under mind control, obviously) is behind the mob hits. That would definitely be unexpected. Well, except for the fact that now I expect it.

Morgan mention – drink!

I'd like to see Scott punch John in the face for cheating on Karen, please and thank you.

Enough with the Jordan/Brick stuff. She deserves so much better.

Maxie's writing today was great. More of that, please.

Cody Bell, wingman??

February 12th, 2024

Nina orchestrates a disaster at the hotel to force Carly to vacate the offices while she's supposed to be finalizing her first issue of Crimson. While Drew refocuses his efforts to fight back, Carly complains to Diane, then confides that she really can't handle Drew's campaign of vengeance along with everything else going on in her life. Martin urges Laura and Kevin to adopt Ace so that no one can ever challenge them for custody (and because Nikolas is likely going to be in prison for a long, long time). It's pretty clear that Laura wants to, but she won't put any pressure on Kevin to make the same decision. He acknowledges that it won't be easy, especially for him since he's never raised a child before, but Laura's family has become his, and he's up for the adventure of parenting with her. Michael lets Josslyn know that things are heating up in the organization and Dex might be at risk. He has no idea about the real risk Dex is facing, as Brick tells Sonny that he received two big payments, both right after Sonny was the target of violence. Sonny has a guard bring Dex to him for a meeting that could very well turn into a trip to the Pine Barrens. Trina tries to busy herself by going back to work, but the distraction doesn't help. She tells Ava that her grief is so deep that she wishes she'd died instead of Spencer. Ava can relate, since she wanted to trade places with Kiki after she dies. She encourages Trina and reminds her that her family is there for her. Lucy confronts Tracy for, in her view, breaking up her and Martin, but Tracy's delighted that Lucy went back to Scott and has very little sympathy about the situation. Lucy goes in search for Martin so they can make up, but he's on his way out of town and she doesn't reach him before he boards a plane. Gregory worries that moving in with Finn and Violet will lead to him losing his independence and kick off the final stage of his life. Tracy thinks he'll find, like she has, that living with family has lots of upsides. Willow basically says the same things over and over about how nice it was to have Michael home overnight, and she finally invites him to move back in.

Is the implication that if Heather ever gets parole, she'll be able to get custody of Ace? Ha! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! Not a chance.

I'm outright begging Kevin and Laura to change Ace's name when they adopt him.

I'm annoyed that they brought Nikolas back just to send him to jail. They should have had him either leave again or never come back. Then they wouldn't have to figure out what to do with Ace.

I'm not saying Brick is the rat but wouldn't throwing suspicion on Dex be the perfect way to divert it from himself?

Kiki mention – drink!

Wow, it's a shame that Lucy will never see Martin again, or that she can't fly to North Carolina and talk to him in person.

February 13th, 2024

Sonny takes Dex on a field trip to the Pine Barrens and accuses him of being the rat. Dex is like, "Listen, I have a totally reasonable explanation for everything, but I can't actually tell you what it is, so...can you be cool? Please?" Sonny orders Dex to unlock his phone so Sonny can dig into his financial records, but instead, Dex wipes the phone and refuses to tell him that Michael is his bankroller. Ava is understandably anxious about Avery's safety and wants to cancel a sleepover she's supposed to have at Carly's house. Carly reassures her, then asks Brick for information on what Sonny's doing to increase security. He tells her that Sonny is working on catching a rat and things will be taken care of soon. A text from Josslyn saying she can't find Dex makes Carly realize that Sonny thinks Dex is a traitor. She desperately tells an uninterested Brick that they have to stop Sonny from killing him. Molly invites Blaze to crash plans she made with Kristina, then asks her sister why they aren't together yet. She thinks Kristina is dragging her feet because she doesn't want to bring Blaze into the complicated pregnancy situation, but Kristina reveals that Blaze already knows all about that. She admits that they're already dating but are keeping it quiet because Blaze isn't out. Molly worries that Kristina won't be satisfied in a relationship where she's kept a secret. Gregory moves in with Finn, and the two of them and Chase explain Gregory's illness to Violet and prepare her a little for how things might progress. Gregory hates that she'll have to see him sick and won't have him around as she grows up. Elizabeth tells Laura that Heather blames Kevin for Esme's death because he didn't do more to tame Ryan. Ava also has Ryan on her mind, as Spencer's death has made her think more about Kiki, and that means thinking about her killer.

There's no reason for Dex not to tell Sonny about his arrangement with Michael. Your loyalty is not more important than your life, man!

Also, Dex cannot be stupid enough to not realize that Sonny suspected him until they got to the Pine Barrens.

On a related note, Carly put things together shockingly fast.

Yay, Kristina's using Blaze's real name!

Kristina might want to let Sonny know that Blaze isn't out. I'm not saying he would out her, but he knows her grandmother and he might mention her closeness with Kristina without realizing it's not common knowledge.

Kiki mention – drink!

February 14th, 2024

Carly stops Sonny from killing Dex but can't convince him that Dex isn't a rat. She eventually tells him that she's the one who hired Dex. Sonny is skeptical that she hired someone to protect him, not least because she doesn't have the kind of money he was paid, and he quickly figures out that she's covering for Michael. Carly and Dex admit that Michael first hired Dex to take Sonny down from the inside, then later had him keep an eye on Sonny because Michael and Carly weren't sure about his judgment. Sonny feels betrayed, and it doesn't look like his and Michael's repaired relationship is going to stay repaired for long. Cody takes Spinelli to the Savoy, where Maxie, Sasha, and Lucy happen to be having a ladies-only Valentine's night that Lucy won't let them join. Once she's left, Cody and Sasha both play matchmaker for the exes, who admit to still having feelings for each other. Danny gets busted for underage drinking, making Sam see that he's becoming more and more like Jason as he grows up. She's not quite sure how to parent a handful without admitting how much of a handful she was at his age. Curtis and Portia celebrate both their anniversary and Valentine's Day by getting intimate for the first time since his shooting. Chase's Valentine's Day plans for Brook don't go the way he'd hoped, but it turns out that neither of them cares that much about the holiday, and they're perfectly happy just hanging out at home. Willow and Michael's long road to reconciliation finally gets to the let's-just-drop-all-this-and-have-sex stage.

Sonny is totally justified in being mad that, you know, his own son hired someone to destroy him, but not so much in feeling betrayed because his family wanted to make sure he was safe.

I would not object to a storyline where Sasha and Cody further develop feelings for each other while scheming to get Maxie and Spinelli back together.

Why did Spinelli agree to hang out with Cody when he hates him?

Nathan mention – drink!

Daniel Edward Morgan! Just wait till your father gets home!

Also, congratulations to Sam for being the first person to mention Jason since the announcement that Steve Burton is coming back.

February 15th, 2024

Michael goes to Sonny to hash out everything, but since he's not exactly apologetic and Sonny is definitely not forgiving, it's really just a bunch of yelling. Michael warns that if Sonny keeps pushing people away, he'll end up alone. For now, though, he has Ava, who thinks he should focus on the water his sinking ship is taking on and how much he can handle before everyone goes down. Josslyn urges Dex to leave town before Sonny decides to take him out because of everything he knows about the organization. Dex refuses to let Josslyn come along, since she'd be giving up her chance at a normal life (this is just a rehash of the same conversation they've had before). For some reason, she thinks she can talk Sonny into just cutting Dex loose and not hurting him. But while she's going to see him, he's on his way to see Dex. O'Neill, the guy John busted while he was talking to Anna and Jordan, won't cooperate with the investigation, so Dante and Jordan brainstorm ways to ensure he's kept in town and available for more conversation. The investigation takes a surprising turn when they learn that a prison transport van was attacked and the prisoner was killed. P.S. That prisoner was Liv. Nina realizes that she's never going to lure anyone away from Crimson, and Drew doesn't make it a secret that he's had a hand in that. He offers to buy her half of the hotel, which will fund the magazine she wants to start, but Nina turns him down. She tells Valentin that she's ready to give up on getting revenge in the publishing arena, but he eggs her on. Meanwhile, Anna's like, "Hey, Drew, how's your rage? Are you feeling completely fulfilled by your revenge schemes or do you think maybe it's time to acknowledge the ways you've changed recently and do something to address them?" Blaze barely blinks at the news that Molly knows about her and Kristina because she's focused on the fact that Kristina used the word "relationship." Kristina puts her foot in her mouth by mentioning that it's still hidden, then repeats what she's said before about not pressuring Blaze to come out before she's ready. But Blaze's mother is coming to visit, and Blaze has decided that she doesn't want to hide a relationship that makes her so happy, so she's going to tell her mom everything. The writers throw the Anna/Valentin fans a bone by giving them a couple of pointless scenes together.

Michael spelling out the reasons he wanted to punish Sonny just make his plan look even more like a disproportionate response.

I'm not saying that Dex should use what he knows about Sonny's business to blackmail him into leaving him alone, but...it certainly wouldn't be a bad idea.

Dex. The most powerful man in town is probably literally gunning for you. You're carrying a weapon and wouldn't open the door for Josslyn until she told you it was her. Why did you open the door for Sonny without checking to see who was there?

LOL at Josslyn thinking that Sonny will spare Dex just because she asks him to.

R.I.Pieces (TM Landon Kirby), Liv. None of us will miss you.

Dang it, Valentin! Stop being the devil on Nina's shoulder!

February 16th, 2024

Instead of killing Dex – which, let's be honest, he really wants to do – Sonny basically sends Dex into witness protection, though it'll be managed by Brick instead of the feds. Dex would have to leave Josslyn behind and never be able to see her again, so Dex would rather die. Sonny's like, "That would mean you're responsible for your death, not me, which means I don't have to be the bad guy in Josslyn's eyes, so maybe rethink that." Josslyn bugs Ava about where Sonny is and what he's doing and can't Ava try calling him so Josslyn can beg him not to kill Dex, since Sonny won't take her calls? Ava doesn't seem that interested in helping Dex, despite the fact that he saved her life twice, but she does seem interested in getting Josslyn to open up to her, as if they're friends or something. Ultimately, Josslyn realizes that of course Sonny went to Dex's place, but by the time she gets there, Dex is gone. Sonny gives her his dog tags and barely blinks when she tells him she hates him. One of the guns stolen from the WSB was found at the scene of Liv's murder, so it's not a big leap to think that her death is connected to Curtis' shooting. Anna, Jordan, and Dante consider picking a Pentonville inmate to act as an informant and get O'Neill to talk to him since he won't talk to the authorities. Cyrus whines for the 50th time that Laura doesn't have faith in him, just because, I don't know, he hasn't killed anyone in the past two weeks or whatever. He tells her he's arranged for his "flock" to protect Nikolas in prison, which Laura doesn't like the sound of. She also doesn't like the sound of his new radio show, where he gets to tell the people of Port Charles all about how he's a good person now and they can find redemption like he did. Alexis tries to reassure Sam that she's not a bad mother just because one of her kids is acting out. She thinks that Sam handled everything with Danny well, and that she'll also be able to handle anything he pulls in the future. But Sam is still worried that Danny is hardwired to seek out danger like his father was. Then Alexis learns that Liv is dead and she goes to tell Ava, who's like, "Oh. Okay," just like the rest of us.

Yes, Dex, letting Sonny kill you would definitely be better for Josslyn than if you just vanished. Stop being so dramatic.

Michael sucks for not reaching out to Dex and at least offering to try to protect him.

Somehow, I don't think Sonny will lose any sleep knowing that Josslyn hates him.

Those Josslyn/Ava scenes were a waste of everyone's time. Josslyn hates Ava, and she's not dumb enough not to know where Sonny was the whole time.

Uh, I know someone in Pentonville who's not a threat to the general population if released, and who would be happy to help extract information from O'Neill in exchange for a reduced sentence.

I can't believe Sam thinks what Danny did was worse than anything Kristina ever did as a teenager, as if Kristina didn't flee the scene of a car accident she caused and run off to Mexico.

The only way this Cyrus/radio stuff could be interesting is if he started blabbing people's secrets on the air.

February 19th, 2024

Valentin buys the Invader and installs Nina as the publisher. Alexis immediately quits, then changes her mind when she's assured that things will stay the same. She tells Gregory that part of her reason for staying is to keep an eye on Valentin and Nina, who are obviously up to something. It looks like Nina's first order of business is to publish something unflattering about Carly and Drew. Josslyn is determined to find Dex and convince him to come back to Port Charles, no matter how Sonny may react. Carly's basically like, "Dex knew what he was getting into, Sonny is a prince for not killing him, and I will not address your excellent point that Sonny demands loyalty from others but doesn't reciprocate." Fortunately, Josslyn ignores her. Trina's back-and-forth between the anger and depression stages of grief has mostly stopped and she's more depressed than anything. She doesn't want to give in to her emotions because she's afraid she won't be able to come back, and she can't see herself ever being happy again. She also can't look ahead to the future, which is why she's having trouble deciding whether she wants to go back to school in the fall. Curtis doesn't want her to pretend everything's okay when it isn't, and he assures her that she doesn't have to make any big decisions right now. Tracy has a fit about not having a plus one on her invitation to Brook and Chase's wedding, which of course leads to a fight between her and Lois. Brook determines that it was an accidental omission, and she thinks Tracy's bad reaction came out of loneliness. Marshall has pretty much confirmed that he never had schizophrenia, but instead of being happy, he's mad at himself for taking the word of the misdiagnosing doctor. Stella helps him accept that he can't change the past and he needs to let go of his fears that whatever was really going on will happen again.

You know, Valentin, there are much less expensive ways to demonstrate that you're still in love with Nina.

Does Carly think Sonny deserves a present or something for not killing Dex? Stop defending him! Stop making excuses for him! This is the worst attempt at comforting someone ever in history!

Trina should be Ace's nanny. Laura and Kevin will definitely need childcare, and Trina needs something to do and a way to keep her connection to Spencer. It's win-win.

The only men Tracy can tolerate long enough to invite to a wedding are Gregory and Finn, who are already coming, so let's all just calm down.

February 20th, 2024

Diane serves Nina with divorce papers, not bothering to hide her lack of sympathy. Nina wants to do something to get Sonny's attention, so Valentin advises her not to sign the papers. Anna and Laura convince Cyrus to use his prison ministry to get O'Neill to give him the information they need. Jordan offers to have Curtis brought into his shooting investigation as a consultant, but he thinks his focus should be on his recover and his family right now. He decides not to let her know that Sonny told him about the connection between Pikeman and the WSB. He also decides that he wants to warn Selina that mobsters are being targeted, but first he wants to come clean to Portia about their former work arrangement. Portia's scared that that made Curtis a target instead of just collateral damage. Dante wants to get to work on finding the rat in Sonny's organization, so Sonny tells him that he may have already taken care of it. Dante's surprised to hear about the whole Michael/Dex thing but doesn't think Sonny should write them off so quickly. He shouldn't turn down any help offered to him, no matter how unlikely the source. Robert lets Laura and Valentin know that he won't pursue jail time for Charlotte for the things she did to Anna, but she'll be on probation for three years and will have to do 1,000 hours of community service and see a therapist. Laura's fine with all that but Valentin thinks it's too much and accuses Robert of making things personal because of his hatred for Valentin.

I don't want to have to watch any Sonny/Nina scenes (or Nina/anyone scenes), but I agree with her that it's strange that they've had no contact and now all of a sudden, he's filing for divorce. Seems like an odd choice in terms of the writing.

No way would Jordan be okay with enlisting Cyrus to get to O'Neill. NO WAY.

Cyrus should be jumping to help the police. What better way to show that you're a good guy now?

I guess Sonny forgot that the person he was talking to about his son trying to bring him down from the inside was the other son who tried to bring him down from the inside. So whenever he's all, "I can never trust Michael again," I'm like, "Yes, I totally believe that."

Here's the thing, Portia: If Curtis warns Selina that her life could be in danger, she'll see him as a good guy rather than the frustration who cost her money and business. She may even be inclined to repay the favor in the future.

"That's a lot of organized crime going on." That's it, that's the show.

Sonny wants to talk to Ava about Liv, but Ava thinks there's enough bad history between them while they're living together, so she'd like to skip that conversation. He lets her stick around when Selina comes by to confront Sonny for not telling her that mob bosses are being targeted. He fills her in on the apparent rat in his organization and says he wanted to confirm who it was before he told her anything. Selina has also been targeted, and she discovered that one of her guards took bribes to give up information. In exchange for a place to hold her poker games, Selina offers Sonny access to the guard. Maxie's financial situation is much better, so Felicia tells Spinelli that he can start making arrangements to move out. Spinelli's reluctant to do so, and as Maxie tells Sasha, she feels the same. Spinelli mentions to Cody that he once wooed Maxie with karaoke, and since it's conveniently karaoke night at Charlie's, it doesn't take much for Cody to come up with a matchmaking scheme. Tracy's mad that Carly changed the agreement she made with Deception for her first issue of Crimson, but Maxie and Brook worked out a new arrangement that actually served them better, and the company is already seeing positive results. After seeing how they've been working so closely and talking to Felicia about what Maxie's said about work, Lucy realizes that Maxie and Brook are conspiring to navigate around Tracy's decisions. She threatens to tattle on Brook to Tracy, but when Brook agrees to negotiate with her, Lucy says she wants in. Carly is more upset by the news of Liv's death than she expected, since Liv's the reason Morgan is dead. Nina picks a bad time to bug her, which just makes Drew even madder at her. That, in turn, makes Carly frustrated that he keeps antagonizing her. Brook calls Tracy out for again being grumpy because of her personal issues and gets her to admit that it's about a man. She urges Tracy to invite him to the wedding, but Tracy says there's no point. Brook puts together that she likes Gregory and gives her a pep talk about asking him to go the wedding with her. Tracy decides to do it, but she's seconds too late, as he's just asked Alexis to be his plus one. A comment from Trina about how Sonny probably has a guard keeping Dex from returning to town makes Josslyn decide to ask Spinelli to track their phones. Also, Trina is depressed; someone please take her to therapy. Nina starts making changes to the Invader that Alexis doesn't like, and Gregory thinks they might acually be good ideas. Alexis challenges him to come up with a better one so they don't have to use Nina's.

Sonny: "You can trust [Ava]." Selina: "It's heartwarming that one of us does." Ha!

I'm now counting the days until Jason's back because no matter what happens, there's a good chance we'll get a break from all the Nina stuff.

Carly could probably solve at least half of her problems by finding new office space. The other half could be solved with an ultimatum, even though I hate ultimatums. Carly needs to tell Drew he can either be with her or get revenge on Nina, but not both.

When Drew heard about Liv's death, he thought about Morgan, not Scout? You know, his child who was born outside in a snowstorm because of Liv?

Morgan mention – drink!

Whose idea was it for Tracy to move on from a dead love interest by getting involved with a man who's going to die?

Noooooo, please not karaoke again.

Selina lets Sonny interrogate her bribe-taking guard, who says the person who paid him to turn on her was just a middle man, so his identity isn't important. He did, however, hear the guy on the phone with his boss, who goes by the name Stone. Of course, Sonny thinks that's John. Anna and Dante wire Cyrus up and send him to a religious gathering at Pentonville so he can get O'Neill to see him as someone to confide in. Cyrus plays his part well, but as O'Neill is about to open up to him, John announces to Anna and Dante that he's shutting things down. They think there's something fishy about his resistence to their plan, since they're working toward the same goal, and Anna threatens to tell the feds that John shouldn't be running the investigation. Cody gets Sasha to bring Maxie to karaoke night, where they tell each other without telling each other that Maxie and Spinelli's feelings for each other have rekindled. They get Spinelli to sing, and he and Maxie definitely feel a connection. They both admit that they like living together again and aren't eager to end that. They kiss, but Maxie freaks out a little and takes off. Carly tells Drew that in order to move on with her life, she needs to keep Nina out of it as much as possible. He talks a little about wanting Nina to feel the same pain and humiliation he did in prison, getting the closest he's ever gotten to actually analyzing why he keeps going after her. Still, he doesn't want to drop his vendetta, so Carly reminds him that when she agreed to take over at Crimson, one of her conditions was that he back off. Since he hasn't, she's done with the magazine.

Obviously we're supposed to think that John is Stone, and that would certainly be an interesting twist, but you know who else might use the name Stone? Someone whose nickname used to be Stone Cold. (Also, it's a long shot, but just in case, Morgan Stone Corinthos.)

Actually, the best twist would be if Selina's behind all the mob hits and she got her guard to play along.

Anna's plan is dumb. Even if it works, it's dumb.

Awww, Sasha and Cody didn't even get to see the fruits of their labor.

Consequences! Carly deployed consequences! She's the first person to actually do something other than just comment over and over that Drew isn't acting like himself!

Just as O'Neill is about to tell Cyrus about what landed him in Pentonville, Heather interrupts. She blames Cyrus for Esme's death (I don't know; just go with it) and outs him as the mayor's brother, making O'Neill balk at talking to him. The audio cuts out, so John runs to break up the conversation, ignoring Anna's protests. But while the surrounding guards are busy dealing with Heather, Cyrus managers to get O'Neill to tell him a little about the guy with the stolen guns. Cyrus reports to the authorities that O'Neill is scared of the guy and thinks he can reach O'Neill in prison. O'Neill sees him as untouchable because no one knows he exists – he's supposed to be dead. Kristina's pregnancy is progressing well, and she's now in her second trimester, which means Molly and T.J. are going to start sharing their good news. During an appointment, Kristina blurts out that she wants to know whether the baby is a boy or girl, then remembers that she doesn't really get a say. T.J.'s a little bothered, but Molly isn't. Kristina confides to Blaze that in that moment, she felt like the baby was hers. Blaze thinks she's feeling the way anyone would in her position, and Molly and T.J. understand that. Then they have sex. Sam turns to Elizabeth for advice about parenting a difficult teen, as if Elizabeth's kids aren't all angels. Elizabeth assures her that everything Danny's been doing is totally normal and encourages her to find something they can do together that might make him feel like opening up to her. Sam takes him to the bridge and gets him to reveal that he's been missing Jason more than usual. Wyatt's father just returned after two years of military duty, and Danny's down because they no longer have missing their fathers in common. Sam assures Danny that he can talk to her about Jason any time he wants, but he's resistant to being too open with her. Sonny and Ava bond a little over losses, making her pretty much the only person he has around who he's not even a little bit mad at. He's surprised to realize that she's also the only person he can really trust right now. Tracy has dinner with the Chases, deliberately avoiding any discussion of whether she's taking a date to the wedding. Gregory might have any idea of her feelings for him, though. Tracy is clearly touched that the family has been so warm to her.

Steve Burton implied that anything pointing to Jason being Stone was a red herring, in which case it's a surprisingly brilliant red herring, because it just keeps looking more and more likely.

Once a-freaking-gain, Heather ruins everything.

I assume the hotel room where Kristina met Blaze is the one Blaze's mother is going to stay in during her visit, because I don't know why else Blaze would be there.

I think Sam should encourage Danny to spend more time with Jake. Jake is a good role model, and he knows what Danny's going through missing Jason.

I wouldn't be surprised if Sonny and Ava hooked up. I'm not sure she would do that to Nina, though.

Kiki and Morgan mentions – drink!

February 26th, 2024

Sonny asks Spinelli to help him with a project, wanting to use a third party just in case it turns out he can't trust Brick. Spinelli's hesitant to get back into mob-related work, but when Sonny assures him that no one he cares about will be in danger, he agrees. He's surprised that Sonny wants to work with him, though, considering how annoying Sonny has always found him. Apparently that's no match for Jason's admiration for Spinelli. John tells Carly that he's with the FBI, and she immediately thinks he's trying to befriend her so he can get info on Sonny. She also thinks he should be a lot more grateful to Sonny for the way he took care of Stone. John claims that he's working on a case that involves Sonny and is trying to protect their family. This is the first Carly's heard about them needing protection, so now she has more things to be annoyed about. Blaze's mother, Natalia, shows up early and finds Kristina in Blaze's bed. Kristina lies that they were hanging out the night before and she slept over because it got late. Blaze and Natalia start bickering about stuff, since Natalia doesn't seem to know much about and/or respect her daughter's preferences. Finally, Blaze decides to tell her that Kristina is more than a friend. Nina bugs Ava to find a way to get her and Sonny in the same place, since she hasn't been able to get him to talk to her. Ava doesn't want to rock the boat since she and Sonny are getting along so well and she's not sure how much longer he'll want her to stay with him. Nina wants to know all about what's going on with the organization, including why Dex is gone, I guess because she thinks she and Sonny will work everything out and she'll go back to being the first lady of the mob. Sonny shows up while she and Ava are talking, and he finally agrees to stay in the same room as his wife for longer than ten seconds. Curtis can relate to Drew's recent issues feeling like a victim and struggling to balance what he wants with what's best for his relationship. He helps Drew see that since Carly has been nothing but supportive, he should do the same for her. Maxie is trying really hard to avoid Spinelli so she doesn't have to talk about their kiss. But he gets advice from Sonny to tell her how he feels, so she's about to get cornered. For those tracking this sort of thing, Wyndemere has officially been sold.

Ugh, Nina, you can't show up at someone's work without warning and then whine that they're busy.

"By the way, you're drinking Corinthos Coffee" made me laugh. You could tell that John was thinking, "Rats, now I can't come here anymore."

Morgan mention – drink! (I won't be tracking Jason mentions. The rate things are going, we'll all be dead of liver failure by the end of the week.)

God bless Curtis Ashford.

LOL at Sonny advising Spinelli to talk to Maxie about his feelings when he refuses to talk to his own wife.

I forgot about the whole Wyndemere thing. I still have no idea who would have bought it.

February 27th, 2024

Nina seems to think that her and Sonny's love for each other is enough to keep them together. He calls her petty and reckless, and makes it clear that her actions were unforgivable. Natalia is partly in deep denial that Blaze might have feelings for a woman and partly unable to think about anything other than her daughter's career. She calls Kristina a distraction and implies that she put ideas in Blaze's head about her attractions. Even when Blaze calls Kristina her girlfriend, Natalia won't refer to her as anything other than a friend. In the end, Blaze isn't sure that Natalia will ever accept her as she is, but she has no regrets about coming out, since it made her feel free. Apparently Drew didn't actually take anything away from his conversation with Curtis, because he tells Carly that he wants to let go of his rage about Nina but doesn't know how. He seems to think that she's had an easier time getting over what Nina did, when really it's just that Carly is able to focus on other things and is patient enough to sit around and wait for Nina to do something stupid that comes back around on her. Maxie and Spinelli confess their feelings for each other, though Maxie isn't sure they're enough to make a rekindled relationship work, since they weren't before. Just as Spinelli has convinced her to at least give it a try, he comes clean about lying about needing a place to stay. Maxie's offended by the thought that he believes she can't take care of herself or the kids. He tries to assure her that that's not the case, but she's too mad to listen and kicks him out of the house. She seems to regret that later, though.

Yes, Nina, be dismissive about the reason Sonny wants to divorce you. That'll help.

Natalia's going to need to come around on Blaze's sexuality really quickly if the writers want people to like her, because the audience won't put up with her for long like this.

Drew. Therapy. Try it.

Maxie isn't much of a grudge holder, so I can't see her being mad at Spinelli for too long.

February 28th, 2024

Lois, Tracy, and Maxie gather as Brook tries on wedding dresses, though there's more talk of Lois' dress, which was originally Lila's, than there is any trying on. Chase is much less nervous about his wedding than Finn apparently thinks he should be. Tracy accidentally ruins that when her lawyers prematurely send him the prenup she had them prepare on Brook's behalf. Now Chase thinks that Brook is planning for the end before they even get married, and Brook has to deal with the fallout. John runs into Scott at Karen's grave and the two vent to each other about Sonny. Scott wants John to fail his assignment to find out who's after Sonny and just let him suffer the inevitable consequences of his own actions. John can't do that, but he's sure that Sonny will die sooner or later, so as long as they're patient, they'll get what they want. Josslyn tracks down Dex and is pretty confident that she can just take him home with her and Sonny will have to deal. Dex tells her that this is the last time they're going to be able to see each other. Sonny and Carly discuss John, the mob hits, and the Dex situation, not getting anywhere with any of it. Michael's worried about Sonny now that he's banished Dex and doesn't trust Michael and Carly anymore. Dante thinks he's a good enough ally for their father to have, but Michael knows that his job prevents Sonny from ever fully being able to let him in.

I assume they had all that talk about Lila's dress because that's what Brook will end up wearing. Otherwise, it was pretty pointless.

As if Brook would a) ever even think about a prenup or b) let lawyers send one to Chase without discussing it with him. Come on, Chase! Do you know your fiancée at all?

John cheated on Karen! No way would Scott just brush that aside!

Sonny is less mad at Carly about what he sees as her betrayal than he is at Nina about her betrayal. Just sayin'.

February 29th, 2024

Dante is awkwardly stuck between Sonny and Michael, as Michael worries that Sonny's vulnerable now and Sonny dismisses everything Michael says to him. John shows up at the gym while they're all there, and he and Sonny fight for a while about Stone and Karen. Sonny baits John into taking a swing at him, and Dante and Michael jump in to separate them, ruining Sonny's plan to get John to hit him so he'll have to leave town. Brook calms Chase down, assuring him that a prenup is nowhere near the top of her list of priorities. He signs anyway, not caring about money, and she tears up the paperwork. As she tells him that she would love to wear Lila's dress but isn't sure Tracy would let her, Lois and Maxie discuss the same thing. Lois considers stepping in to request it but worries that Tracy would say no just out of spite. Gregory has already softened Tracy a little by calling her out for branding Chase an interloper, and she admits that Lila never offered her the dress to wear at one of her weddings. Now she thinks she was always meant to share it instead, so she gives it to Brook. Dex is adamant about not going back to Port Charles, even though Josslyn points out that if anything happens to him, Sonny will be the top suspect. Dex knows that if Sonny doesn't kill him, he'll look weak, which will just put the Corinthos contingent in more danger. Josslyn tries to negotiate a future return, but Dex is resigned to disappearing from her life forever. Just before they're going to have to say goodbye, Michael calls Josslyn and urges her to bring Dex back to town so he can protect Sonny again. With weddings the topic of the moment (Violet's planning one, too), Finn and Elizabeth discuss the state of their relationship. They agree that they're both really happy and aren't in a rush to make any changes, but a future marriage isn't out of the realm of possibility.

I've been expecting (and dreading) a Sonny/John boxing match, so I'm surprised we didn't get one today.

Yesterday and today were such wastes of Brook, Chase and everyone around them.

Josslyn and Dex are both right. Sonny would never get away with killing Dex or having him killed, and he'll look weak if he doesn't do anything. But with John watching Sonny's every move, Dex should be good to go back to Port Charles.

"It's early – she's not even registered yet." Finn is so easy to mess with.
