Jason kills one of the shooters, who he recognizes as a mob employee but won't talk about with Anna. She thinks Sonny sent the gunmen and can't understand why Jason would continue trying to protect a man who just days ago threatened to kill him. Forensics finds a burner phone in the warehouse, and when Anna calls the only number on it to find out who the shooters were speaking to, she immediately recognizes the voice of the person who picks up: Valentin. Carly tries to talk Sonny out of asking Blaze to advocate for him with Kristina. He ignores her, but before he can approach Blaze, he learns of the shooting at the warehouse. He calls Diane, who objects when Jason tells her to go warn Sonny that the police are going to question him. Jason figures he doesn't need a lawyer with him, so Diane goes to Sonny, asking him straight out if he was behind the shooting. Sonny seems completely clueless about the situation and why someone would target the warehouse. Brennan picks the lock on his handcuffs so he can meet up with Valentin in a hospital stairwell. He tells Valentin that Carly let it slip that the FBI is investigating Pikeman, and that they sent John across the country to head things up. That means Jason's working with the FBI, but Valentin isn't worried since he's pretty sure that Jason doesn't know he's involved with Pikeman. Blaze admits to Kristina that she told Molly about Sonny's attack on Dex, and Kristina's furious about what she sees as a betrayal of her trust. She runs into Carly, who's apologetic about how Kristina saw her father in a new light, especially while she's pregnant. However, she warns that if Kristina can't ever get past what she saw, she'll have to decide whether or not she wants Sonny in her life. Ava inadvertently records Natalia saying that she thinks gay people don't take things seriously, which is exactly how she sees Kristina's decision to have a baby she's not going to raise.
I didn't expect Anna to connect Valentin to Pikeman this soon, so I was genuinely shocked by that cliffhanger.
I can't decide if Valentin is going to be mad that the shooters didn't wear masks, or if he wanted Jason to ID them so he'll get the wrong idea and think Sonny sent them.
Wait, Brennan complained that Valentin is moving too slowly, but he also doesn't want him to do anything to Jason right now? I'm confused. And why is he voluntarily going back to Pentonville when he could have run?
You can't beat a scene between two villains when they're as well cast as Valentin and Brennan are.
Kristina is definitely her father's daughter, because drama queen.
What's unspoken from Kristina and Carly's conversation about how all the Corinthos kids eventually have to confront the truth about Sonny is that Avery and Donna are next on deck for that.
I've made no secret of my distaste for Ava, but I have to give her credit for calling Natalia out on her attitude and defending Kristina, who she doesn't even care about that much and who wouldn't care about having Ava defend her.
Also, Ava, if you're going to take down Natalia, do it this month. It would be fitting because it's Pride.

Anna now has all the pieces she needs to put together the puzzle that is Pikeman. Jason wants to give them all to John so he can get his (and Carly's) freedom, but Anna convinces him that to wait until they have proof, because otherwise, Valentin will wriggle out of this and John will never let Jason go. She then has to convince Jason not to go after evidence himself, since she thinks her personal connection to Valentin is the best way to bring him down. Finn keeps swearing to Elizabeth that he's not going to drink again (though alcohol was never a problem for him, so it's not like drinking is really an issue), and though she seems to believe him, there's still awkwardness there, left over from the way he talked to her when he was drinking. John is itching to arrest Sonny for trying to kill Jason, but Diane talks him down since he doesn't have any evidence to prove his hunch. For now, John will be satisfied with gloating that the saddest story to come out of all the kids Sonny has taken in is now Sonny's enemy. Sonny is unhappy to realize that Diane isn't 100 percent sure of his innocence. Worried that Carly will feel the same, he runs straight to her to tell her that he had nothing to do with the hit. She believes him, and he asks her to pass the message on to Jason. She thinks that he wouldn't care whether Jason suspected him if he didn't still want to have a connection to his ex-best friend. Sonny, however, sticks to his decision to cut Jason out of his life. Drew lets Carly know that he's considering running for office, which means she might be dragged back into the spotlight over their insider trading. Carly brushes off that concern and gives him her full support. Brook helps Chase navigate his grief, getting him to the point where he wants to honor Gregory by living life to the fullest. He's a little worried about inheriting ALS, especially if it means that Brook would be faced with taking care of him. Brook knows that he would do it for her, so she has no reservations about doing the same for him.
Hey, Jason, maybe don't tell the police commissioner that you're going to break into someone's house.
What I'm hearing from Finn is, "I'm not going to drink again, but if I do, it's not that big of a deal because I'm not an alcoholic."
Maybe this will be a wake-up call for Sonny. Does he want to keep being the guy people suspect of trying to kill his former best friend?
I have to say, I really enjoy how Sonny keeps pointedly calling John "Jagger."
Drew running for office is one of the most boring plots I can think of.

Gregory's loved ones hold a nice memorial for him, sharing some of the things they learned from him and hope to carry forward. Tracy basically says that she thinks they could have had a relationship if things had gone differently, and everyone's surprised to learn that he and Alexis kissed after they went skydiving. Brook continues being the GOAT for Chase, who tells her how much he appreciates it. Everyone thinks he and Finn are doing well with their grief and will be able to move on now, but as the reception is winding down, Chase catches Finn drinking. Molly and Kristina do a whole "everything is great!" "Yes, everything is great!" routine with each other until Kristina finally says she knows that Blaze told Molly what happened after the wedding. Molly spins it into an accusation that she's not allowed to ask about the baby because...uh...I don't really know. Shut up, Molly. Anyway, I think they're over it. Natalia wants Blaze to re-record a track that apparently didn't have any problems, but Blaze is distracted by her fight with Kristina and can't tap into the right emotions. She tells Natalia that she and Kristina might be done, to which Natalia says that their relationship probably wasn't authentic anyway since Kristina probably just wanted to be with a celebrity and Blaze mistook her interest for love. Blaze's anger at her mother and sadness over her possible breakup provide her what she needs to perform well. Kristina unexpectedly shows up at the recording studio, looking like she's ready to put the fight behind her, so please join me in laughing in Natalia's face.
Finn drank?? But he said eight times that he wouldn't!
I can't wait for Violet to start asking questions about the things Finn did in the past that hurt his relationship with Gregory.
Brook and Elizabeth's faces after Alexis mentioned that she and Gregory kissed were hilarious.
I think Jake was the tallest person in this whole episode.
In addition to shutting up over making the situation about herself again, Molly can bite me for not asking if Kristina's okay after going through something that was traumatic for her.
I can't believe Natalia didn't tell Blaze to use her heartache to make her music better. I also can't believe she didn't send Kristina away and then not tell Blaze she'd come by.

Finn makes multiple excuses to go home alone, where he fights temptation to drink, even calling a place about an AA meeting, but ultimately goes to a bar instead. Chase decides not to say anything about Finn's drinking until he and Violet have both left. Brook supports his decision to confront his brother and try to help however he can, but she reminds him that they can't force Finn to do anything. She's more worried about Violet than anything, since she's most likely to get hurt if this continues. Kristina questions Natalia's making decisions for Blaze, sounding like her mother and not letting Natalia get the better of her. Natalia doesn't think that Blaze and Kristina's relationship will last, especially after Blaze becomes famous, and she all but asks Kristina to end things now. Instead, Kristina apologizes to Blaze for yelling at her and asks her forgiveness, which Blaze easily gives her, so suck it, Natalia! Josslyn and Gio will be working side-by-side at the hotel all summer, and they quickly become friends. He also hits it off with Trina, but she's taken aback by a glimpse of him that reminds her of Spencer. Violet hangs out with Maxie, Spinelli, and the kids (minus Bailey, who apparently just doesn't exist anymore) but is too worried about Finn to have any fun. Maxie says exactly the right things to her.
If you'd told me ten years ago that the three most mature characters in one episode would be Kristina, Maxie, and Brook, I would have said, "Uh-huh, okay. And what alternate universe are you communicating with me from?"
LOL at Natalia saying she doesn't like to repress her feelings when that's exactly what she wants Blaze and Kristina to do. I can't wait until she gets chased out of town by a mob of people waving pitchforks and rainbow flags.
Usually when people on the show are like, "You look just like X," I don't see it, but here? Yeah, Gio looked just like Spencer when he was getting out of the pool.
How and when did Georgie and Violet become friends? They have a big age difference. It would make more sense for Violet to be friends with Scout.
June 7th, 2024
While doing some underage drinking with friends, Jake sees Finn getting way too close with a woman who's very interested in hooking up with him, even though all he does is talk about himself. Jake goes straight to Elizabeth to fill her in, and she lets herself into Finn's apartment just in time to see him and the woman making out. Brook and Chase are set on separating Finn and Violet so Finn can get help, even though they know that one or both of them could resent their interference. Brook suggests basically distracting Violet with an impromptu sleepaway camp at the Quartermaines' while Finn hopefully goes to rehab. Trina spends a little more time with Gio, warning him that his family's beloved Sonny is very divisive in Port Charles, and his new buddy Josslyn is especially opinionated about him. Gio asks if Trina looked at him strangely earlier because they've met before, and though she explains that he looked like someone she used to know, she gets too upset to continue. Dex is now openly flirting with Josslyn in public, and it looks like Trina's attitude toward them is, "Will you guys just get back together already?" Dex finally makes a move, asking Josslyn to have dinner with him. Drew helps along another positive Willow/Nina encounter, so he's probably going to get laid again.
Elizabeth did this storyline 20 years ago, with a guy we actually cared about. Time to give her something better. By the way, if she breaks up with Finn, Liaison fans are going to get their hopes up, and that is not better.
So much for Elizabeth's kids all being angels. Jake, if you're going to be dumb enough to go to a bar when you're underage, you have to go to one in another town, because your dad goes to that one, and he's not going to look the other way if he catches you there.
"If we're being honest, I don't think child abduction is the answer to all of our problems." You're no fun, Chase!
I loved Trina being like, "Welp, looks like I'm a fifth wheel. Guess I'll go over there."
With Josslyn and Gio on opposite sides of the Sonny issue, so far he's not much different from Spencer, but at least if the two of them, Dex, and Trina all hang out, we won't have to deal with Dex and Gio fighting like we did with Dex and Spencer.
June 10th, 2024
Elizabeth is immediately done with Finn, who tries to make her look like the bad guy because she hasn't been around enough while he's grieving (never mind that he never asked her to be or that he basically chased her off when she disapproved of him drinking before). As he's trying to force her to stay, Jason shows up and gets her out of there. Elizabeth doesn't seem to have any second thoughts about dumping Finn, and she thinks that Jason's assistance will help Jake think more highly of him. Brook and Chase share their plans for Finn and Violet with Tracy, who thinks they're right to make these moves but warns that they may have a tougher road ahead than they think. The couple knows that Finn might not respond they way they'd like, but their top priority is protecting Violet no matter what her father does. Maxie has to endure Nina babbling about what a great day she had and how, because Drew helped facilitate it, she'll have to keep putting up with him because of what she gets out of it with Willow and Wiley. Drew comes in to fight with Nina about something no doubt unworthy of his level of anger, and after Maxie leaves, the two of them make out, because Nina's insistence to Maxie that she wasn't going to sleep with Drew again carried about as much weight as Finn's insistence that he wasn't going to drink again. Dex and Josslyn are definitely getting back together, and he actually appreciates the fact that she broke up with him because she was honest about her feelings and she helped him realize that he was becoming someone he didn't want to be. Willow tells Michael that spending time with Nina earlier moved her closer to getting past everything that's happened with her. She credits Drew with helping with that, making Michael wonder how Drew has been able to dismiss what Nina did to him. Drew has to leave Curtis to launch their new wellness stuff on his own while he focuses on his campaign, which he's all but committed to. Curtis jumps right on board.
Yeah, I'm totally rooting for the character who took his grief out on someone who didn't deserve it, then accused her of abandoning him (and then denied that he accused her of abandoning him).
Elizabeth putting the keys in a glass that had alcohol in it was [chef's kiss].
Have the Liaison fans stopped screaming, Clarice?
Can't believe this is what Brook and Chase are doing instead of going on their honeymoon.
Someone is inevitably going to catch Drew and Nina together, and I kind of can't wait to see who it is.
LOL at Maxie going, "I...don't want to be here" and running away.
June 11th, 2024
Chase and Brook present their let's-turn-the-Quartermaines'-mansion-into-a-summer-camp idea to Finn, who, hungover or not, easily figures out what they're up to and slams on the brakes. He won't accept any criticism from Chase, who has a seemingly perfect life, and he won't acknowledge that his drinking could have a negative effect on Violet. Chase can't push him toward treatment, and he knows his options are limited, but he makes it clear that he's not going to back down from making sure that Violet's okay. Brennan tells Anna that John thinks she's the mastermind running Pikeman. Anna wonders why Brennan started the organization to begin with, as if money and power aren't enough motive. She also wonders if Brennan would have killed her if she hadn't arrested him first. He gives a vague non-answer, but it's pretty clear that the answer is yes. Sam pulls a small con on John to distract him so Spinelli can steal his FBI credentials, which will give him access to confidential files. Sam and John end up confiding in each other about the what-ifs they imagine about their exes. The con is successful and Spinelli gets what he needs without being spotted, but there are tons of files to go through, so it's going to be a while before anything pays off. Brook vents to Lois about Finn, and Lois reminds her of their relatives who have struggled with alcoholism and how there's only so much their loved ones can do for them. Brook knows all that, but she, like Chase, is fully committed to protecting Violet. Aiden accidentally alerts Elizabeth to the fact that Jake shouldn't have been close enough to a bar to have seen Finn coming out of it. She puts things together pretty quickly, and though she's not pleased, she puts that aside to tell Jake how glad she is that he called Jason.
Chase, it's time to get help from someone who knows what they're doing. Or, at the very least, Alexis.
I assume that Brennan told Anna about John's suspicions to make himself look helpful, but it's actually going to work to Anna's advantage, because now she can play to those suspicions and keep John from figuring out what she's put together about Valentin. So thanks, Brennan! You were good for something after all.
"[He's] looking rather agitated. Although that may just be his face." Hee. I love how everyone hates John.
I don't buy John not knowing who Sam is even before she introduced herself.
Other than saying that she's single (which was a mistake, because the second John sees her with Dante, he'll get suspicious), everything Sam told John was technically true. In fact, she and one of her exes divorced because he wasn't who she thought he was – Drew literally wasn't Jason.
This would have been the perfect opportunity for Ned to talk to Brook about the Quartermaines' experiences with addiction. But no, we had to hear about Cerullos we've never met and likely never will. Bleh.

Sonny reaches out to Kristina with a heartfelt apology and a present for the baby, though they're accompanied by his misinterpretation of the catalyst behind the fight with Dex. Kristina's reminded that he's still the same father she's always known and loved, and though it's not clear if she's going to be able to move past what happened, she definitely appreciates the effort. Molly finally tells T.J. what happened at the wedding, then immediately regrets it because, to absolutely no one's surprise, he totally overreacts. He places all the blame for the surrogate arrangement on Molly, as if she forced him to go along with it, and has basically convinced himself that Kristina's going to refuse to give them the baby. Laura complains to Alexis about being painted as trying to get Heather freed, then goes right back to doing things that could get Heather freed. Alexis looks over the details of the case and determines that a good lawyer could make a compelling argument that Heather isn't responsible for her actions. Laura says that she doesn't necessarily want Heather to be let off the hook (uh, no pun intended), but she also doesn't want her stuck in prison for life if she doesn't deserve it. She gets Alexis to admit that in her previous, lawyerly life, she would have wanted to leave things up to the justice system. Sasha again urges Cody to reveal his paternity, and he again makes excuses not to, this time saying that he's kept quiet for so long that Mac will never forgive him. Sasha thinks he should give Mac the chance to prove him wrong. Carly catches up with Jason, who, of course, won't tell her anything she wants to know about the shooting or Pikeman. Sonny checks in with him as well, mostly wanting to make sure Jason knows that he wasn't behind the hit. He adds that part of him wants to trust Jason again, but he's not there yet. Gio asks lots of questions about people in Port Charles and gets answers from Josslyn, in case anyone needs a refresher course.
Let's hope Kristina isn't naïve enough to believe that Sonny's promise to never commit violence again is going to stick. It carries as much weight as Finn's promise not to drink again.
Molly should leave T.J. and raise the baby with Kristina and Blaze. T.J. should get lost in the woods and get eaten by wolves.
Again, people are freaking out about the possibility that Kristina will want to keep the baby when she's given no indication that that thought has even crossed her mind.
I guess Alexis forgot that Heather kidnapped her grandson, made everyone think he was dead, and almost killed him, if she's willing to just let justice take its course.
They really don't have anything interesting for Sasha and Cody to do, huh?
Gio's pretty curious, isn't he? Almost suspiciously so.
June 13th, 2024
Blaze and Kristina fantasize about the future a little, but Kristina isn't quite ready to start making plans. Molly comes by to vent about her fight with T.J., worried that all the years they've spent in sync with each other have caught up with them and they won't be able to get past this. Kristina's worried about the same thing, and what it could mean for the baby if they split up. Trina wants to know if Laura's really trying to get Heather's case reopened and/or get her released from prison. Laura tells her that she's just trying to make sure that everything is fair and just, but she would never want to brush aside everything Heather did and the people whose lives she affected. Kevin joins them with the news that the Invader published a teaser about an interview with Trina, something Trina says she already refused to participate in. Laura's still upset that people are turning on her, but as long as she's advocating for a murderer, I don't think that's going to change. Curtis visits Heather to try to get a read on things. She gives him an emotional apology for all the harm she's done, including to Trina, but he doesn't buy that she's being genuine. It turns out that she had no idea that Laura was looking into getting her case reopened, and she claims that she doesn't want to be freed, because she deserves to be punished for her crimes. Alexis lectures Adrian about publishing leaked info in the Invader, especially since it makes Laura look bad. Adrian doesn't seem to have any regrets. Diane has questions about the info, guessing that Laura talked to Alexis about the legal aspects of Heather's situation. Diane is determined to keep Heather behind bars, but Alexis reminds her that she herself set precedence for a release when she successfully got Franco acquitted because he had a tumor. The women agree to keep quiet about that and hope that no one else remembers it. Tracy confides to Stella that she feels cheated out of time she could have spent with Gregory. Stella can relate, since she recently learned that Marcus died.
I can't imagine that Kristina's responsibilities would change if Molly and T.J. split up. They would just have to work out custody of the baby.
If this Adrian guy (is that his name? I never really pay attention to him) is publishing stuff behind Alexis' back, he has to go. If Valentin won't get rid of him, Alexis needs to play the "it's him or me" card, then pray that he fires her.
Also, I would very much like to see Portia yell at Valentin for letting someone publish lies about her daughter.
Franco: the non-gift that keeps on giving.
Hmmm, I don't think anyone was expecting Marcus follow-up. How about that.
Speaking of people named Marcus, where's Taggert?

Elizabeth confers with Chase, having found good reason to stick to her decision to dump Finn but still worrying about his well-being, not to mention Violet's. She advises him to get Alexis involved, since she knows more about Finn's addiction issues than they do. Elizabeth goes to check on Finn and Violet, finding that Finn's behavior is starting to affect Violet and it won't be long before she realizes that something's wrong. Finn refuses to let her take Violet for even the night, and he still doesn't think that he's done anything to justify the reactions everyone's having. Chase tells Alexis that Finn is spiraling and is surprised to learn that he actually drank at the wedding, despite claiming that he started after Gregory's death. Alexis agrees to talk to Finn, which I'm sure will be all he needs to turn himself around. Trina gets Gio a job playing at a show opening at the gallery, and hearing him play in person definitely makes her fall for him a little. She and Josslyn are having trouble finding an apartment, and Gio clues them in about a place above the Quartermaines' garage that I guess we'll just pretend has been there for a while. Trina's hesitant to move on with her life (and possibly worried about being in such proximity to Gio), but she agrees with Josslyn that this is an opportunity they can't pass up. Kristina asks Alexis about the legal implications if Molly and T.J. end up splitting up. Alexis doesn't want to get involved because she thinks she'd be asked to choose sides, but Kristina just wants facts. Alexis points her toward legal documents and advises her to give lots of thought to the consequences if she decides not to honor the agreement she made with Molly and T.J. Drew officially declares his intention to run for Congress, and the guy he's replacing again suggests that he change his last name to Quartermaine. Nina gets involved, of course, and she and Drew fight more, of course, and then she asks him for help with Willow, OF COURSE.
Why is Elizabeth going to Al-Anon meetings if she wants nothing to do with Finn?
Every time someone mentions Hayden, my ears perk up like a dog who heard the word "walk."
It seems like Alexis thinks that Kristina wants to keep the baby, but what I got from the conversation was that Kristina's trying to preserve Molly's rights. It would be interesting if, instead of Molly and T.J. vs. Kristina, we got Kristina vs. T.J. to make sure he can't take full custody of the baby and shut Molly out.
Josslyn was never going to get an apartment wearing what she's wearing. Joss, you CANNOT wear something like that to a place where you want to look mature and respectful. Actually, I would recommend never wearing it anywhere.
By the time this show ends, everyone on it will have lived on the Quartermaines' property for at least a month.
June 17th, 2024
Michael throws Willow a surprise birthday party at the Metro Court, and Drew and Nina pretend that Nina stopped by without knowing about the party so Drew can ask Willow if she can stay. Willow agrees and everyone behaves, for once, though Carly's suspicious about why Drew's doing favors for Nina. Alexis doesn't sugarcoat anything with Finn, criticizing his decision to drink around Violet and push away his loved ones. He sticks to his insistence that since he's not an alcoholic, he doesn't have a problem, and everyone's overreacting to his reasonable way of handling his grief. Alexis warns him that rock bottom is coming quickly. Not only is Drew running for Congress, but he's also started the ball rolling on changing his name to Quartermaine. Willow makes him announce his plans at the party, and he talks about serving the community and sharing prosperity, blah blah blah, I'm sure this rich white man will make a difference where no other rich white man could before. Portia lets Elizabeth know that Finn is cutting his bereavement leave short and coming back to work the next day. Elizabeth spills that he's still drinking, that she dumped him because of it, and that she doesn't think he should be around patients. She also thinks that Portia should work on convincing him to go to rehab. A brief talk with Chase about Gregory's death makes Cody think he might be losing time with his own father that he won't be able to get back. Sasha tells him that if he's wondering what to do about that, he already knows the answer. Gio continues delighting everyone whose path he crosses, like, seriously, is this kid too good to be true or what?
Drew, don't lie to Willow. You're not a politician yet.
Just like everyone on the show will live on the Quartermaines' property at some point, they will also change their last name to Quartermaine at some point.
"I'm not an alcoholic." Keep drinking like this and you will be.
Finn and Sonny would get along really well right now, with their drinking and their victim mentalities. They should definitely not hang out, though. They would only be bad influences on each other.
How long until we find out that Gio's father is actually someone already on the show? Someone round up the possibilities so we can place bets.

Valentin seems to fully believe that Anna wants to get back together with him and that he can make things work with her this time. John tells Jason that he found emails Anna and Brennan have been sending each other for the past five years, and he's more convinced than ever that Anna's running Pikeman. He tasks Jason with getting the evidence that will confirm it. Jason goes straight to Anna to warn her that Valentin is framing her. She recognizes his actions as a classic WSB attempt to make someone a decoy. She gets Jason to agree to continue letting her work on Valentin, but Jason warns that if it comes down to handing Valentin over to John or letting Carly face charges, he'll choose to save Carly (of course). Sam asks Carly to talk to Jason about staying away from Danny. Carly thinks that Sam is taking things too far and is unreasonable for trying to keep Jason from his son, especially after she spent so many years having no problem with Jason's life. The two get into a big fight, and it ends with Sam saying that she doesn't want Danny to end up like Morgan, and she'll hold Carly equally as responsible as Jason if something happens to him. Sasha thinks that Cody's lonely, which is just another reason for him to come clean to Mac and get the family Sasha's sure would accept him. The two of them start to get romantic in the boathouse, then find themselves trapped in there when Gio starts practicing his violin right outside. They decide that having a private concert isn't anything to complain about. Scott reveals to Lucy that he's been looking into Heather's case and believes that the cobalt poisoning is to blame for her actions. However, he's mostly involved because he wants to help her sue the manufacturer. Lucy makes some excellent points about why being pro-Heather is a horrible idea, repeating what people have already said but adding that Scott wouldn't be so eager to support Peter if he were in Heather's position.
I thought Jason was going to try to convince John that Anna wasn't running Pikeman, so I was glad that he decided to just go with it. It's funnier this way.
Okay, here we go. Carly's right that Sam can't take back who Danny's father is. She's right that forcing Danny and Jason to stay apart is cruel to both of them. And she's right that Jason's the one Sam should be talking to about all this. But Sam is right that she changed, Jason didn't, and now she sees how dangerous his life is for Danny. And she's right to worry that Danny could suffer the same fate as Morgan (speaking of which: Morgan mention – drink!). And if Carly is more concerned with Jason's feelings than with Danny's safety, she's lost the plot.
That said, two more things: 1) "Why did you make such a big damn deal about having a baby with him?" Carly can bite me. 2) Saying that Carly's as responsible as Jason if anything happens to Danny is a big stretch, and I think Sam will look back on that and go, "Why did I say that?"
Also! Sam's going to be ticked when she finds out that everything Jason's been doing, including leaving his kids, has been to protect Carly.
They did it! They made Sasha and Cody interesting! All they had to do was have Gio accidentally c-block them!
I'm adding a new name to the drinking game. Franco mention – drink!

Mac makes a surprise return to town and has happy reunions with Maxie, Felicia, and his grandkids. Cody also reconnects with him, realizing that he can no longer use Mac's absence as an excuse not to do anything with his knowledge of his true paternity. He confides in Tracy (without telling her that Mac is his birth father), who thinks he should stop worrying that Mac will reject him and imagine how great it would be if Mac was thrilled by the news. Brook and Chase meet with Alexis, who reluctantly tells them that Finn is in bad shape and it's only a matter of time before he really screws things up. She's with them on protecting Violet but warns that reporting the situation to Social Services could lead to Violet being placed in foster care. While Brook talks things over with Sonny, who encourages her to do whatever's necessary to get Violet out of a bad living situation, Chase consults Stella. She tells him to document everything so he can build a case – not one against Finn but one advocating for Violet. Alexis gets news from the appeals court, but she's too nervous to look at it, so she makes Diane read it. Diane tells her that there's good news and bad news. The good news is that her disbarment has been vacated. The bad news is that she has a two-year suspension on her license...but it started four years ago, so she's in the clear. Now she just has to take some continuing-education courses and reapproach the bar to return to her legal career. Natalia says nice things to Sonny about Kristina, though she still doesn't think that Blaze and Kristina's relationship is one that can end in happily ever after. Sonny guesses that Gio took his scholarship to PCU partly because he wants to stop relying on Sonny, who's paid so many of his expenses over the years. Josslyn's a little amused that he feels like he's taking advantage of Sonny.
John J. York looks so good!
Good casting on Bailey – she looks like both Maxie and Felicia.
I don't think Violet would be placed with a foster family or in a group home when she has family who are capable of and willing to take her in. Plus, Tracy got emergency foster-parent approval years ago to look after Teddy, so she'd probably just do it again. Anyway, the best way to ensure that she stays with her family is to find her mother. But I think that's the solution to everything, so don't take my word for it.
I loved Diane's "ha ha, I'm messing with her" look.
Enough with Josslyn/Gio scenes. If they're not going to get together, there's no point to them. Give someone else the screentime.

Spinelli locates an audio file on the FBI's servers that informs him and Sam that Jason's been working for them to try to help Carly. Spinelli can't erase the file to keep the FBI from holding it over Jason's head, but Sam is less concerned about that than she is about the fact that Jason abandoned his children and put his life on hold for Carly. She makes a copy of the recording and takes it straight to Carly. Finn actually makes a concerted effort to make his first day back at work the best he can (by which I mean he doesn't drink and he's professional with Elizabeth), but it goes downhill quickly when Portia and Terry call him in for a meeting. They inform him that they'll be monitoring him, and that he can only work if he agrees to go to 12-step meetings and submit to drug tests. Finn thinks this is a violation of his rights and points out that the hospital wouldn't even exist anymore if he hadn't saved it. He quits, then blows up at Elizabeth, because it's obvious that she's the one who raised the issue with the chiefs of staff. Then, to no one's surprise, he goes home and drinks. Carly lets Jason know that Drew is running for Congress, which means the media might start digging into Jason's life and exposing things he doesn't necessarily want people to know about, especially his sons. Jason is more focused on getting his life back than he is on whatever Drew chooses to do with his. But he also warns Anna that if the press shines a spotlight on him, the FBI might see him as useless to them and go after Carly, so Anna needs to step things up in her Valentin investigation. Maxie disapproves of how Drew and Nina manipulated things to get Nina admission to Willow's birthday party. She thinks that Willow will be upset when (because let's be honest, it's a when, not an if) she finds out that they've been hooking up. Nina plans to continue winning Willow over by helping Drew get elected. Josslyn and Trina each tell Gio things about each other – Josslyn mentions that Trina's going through tough time because she lost her boyfriend, and Trina basically admits to trying to get Dex and Josslyn back together. Let's just say that it doesn't look like they need her help with that. Mac catches up with Anna and Robert, learning that John is in town but isn't the same as he used to be.
It's fitting that Finn was wearing all black today, because he's basically a villain now.
Of course Carly thinks she's the reason Jason and Drew don't get along. It started way before that whole mess, hon. It's because of Sam, not you.
Nina needs to make some new friends so Maxie can get one frigging minute of peace.
I wish Dex had made a "protect and serve"/volleyball joke.
Lots of mentions of dead people today (A.J., Nathan, Georgie). Hmm.

Finn wakes up from what appears to be a blackout, since he doesn't seem to know how he got a cut on his hand from broken glass. By the time Violet gets home, he's passed out again, and that combined with the blood make Violet think he's dead. Seeing that he missed calls from Tracy, she calls Tracy for help. Tracy leaves Finn with paramedics and takes Violet to Brook and Chase, who pretend everything's fine and they're just going to have an impromptu sleepover at the Quartermaines' that Finn is totally fine with. Tracy leaves Chase out of her planned confrontation with Finn, which she begins by telling Finn that Violet is gone and won't be coming back. Anna does a little snooping at Valentin's house but doesn't find anything helpful. If he knows that she's on to him, he's doing a good job of hiding it, because he's fully ready to get back together and professes that he still loves her. Anna clearly would rather do anything than spend time with him, but she plays along and gives him the impression that they might be able to rekindle things. Sam plays the FBI's recording for Carly, who now knows that they could bring charges against her for taking over the Corinthos organization while Sonny was gone, though she doesn't seem too worried about it. Sam's furious that Jason made so many sacrifices for her and that his loved ones suffered the consequences while Carly gets away with everything. Carly just defends Jason's decisions. Sam vents to Spinelli that even with the FBI having evidence that could put Carly in prison, that'll never happen because Jason won't let it. Jason tells John that he's an idiot for focusing on Anna (okay, maybe I'm editorializing), but John is confident that she's the head of Pikeman, and equally confident that he's just days away from bringing her down. He's so cocky about it that he takes Carly champagne to celebrate his upcoming work success. Carly plays dumb about knowing that he's been using her to pull Jason's strings.
If having Violet find him unconscious and think that he's dead doesn't make Finn agree to get help, I don't know what will.
Yeah, I don't think paramedics would leave an unconscious man slumped in a chair with no one looking out for him.
I admire Chase for acknowledging that Finn must be in a lot of pain to risk Violet seeing him in this state, because if I were in his position? Yeah, we're fighting.
Between John and Valentin, men on this show are developing a bad habit of not knowing when women are lying to them.
I wish Sam had mentioned that Drew also made a huge sacrifice to keep Carly from going to prison, like, how many guys have to do that before Carly realizes that maybe she should stop doing bad things and letting other people face the consequences?

Tracy has booked a spot for Finn at a rehab facility and tells him he can't get Violet back until he's done with treatment. He swears he'll get himself together and handle sobriety himself, but she knows he can't do that, so she doesn't budge. Brook, Chase, and Lois practically put on a play to make Violet think that everything's fine and her father doesn't need her, while making moves behind the scenes to keep Finn off the Quartermaines' property and start the ball rolling on a potential custody suit, if it comes to that. Diane is fully on board with getting emergency arrangements, but Tracy thinks she should add a restraining order to that. Carly plays nice with John while clearly (to us, at least; he's too clueless to pick up on it) wanting him to get as far away from her as possible. She rants to Spinelli about how horrible John is and declares that she's going to turn herself in so he can't mess with Jason anymore. Spinelli talks her down, pointing out that Jason's sacrifices will have been for nothing, and she could end up in prison after all, which would leave Donna motherless, the exact thing Jason didn't want. Carly agrees to keep quiet, but she vows to find a way to get Jason out from under John's thumb. Kristina makes an effort to continue fixing things with Sonny, which leads to the two of them, Blaze, and Natalia having dinner together. The four of them are getting along great and having a good time when Ava crashes and tries to invite herself to join them. Kristina tears into her for what she did to Alexis, simultaneously giving Sonny another reason to turn against Ava and endearing herself to Natalia. T.J. must have been visited by three ghosts or something, because he apologizes to Molly, acknowledges that they both agreed to have Kristina be their surrogate, and is the voice of reason when Molly worries that Kristina will want to keep the baby.
Taking Violet to the Quartermaines'? Okay. Barring Finn from the property? Maaaaaybe not legal.
Not to argue that Carly should again avoid the consequences of her actions, but Spinelli's right that she should just not do anything. Once Pikeman is brought down, she'll apparently be off the hook, so she should just wait this out.
If Natalia would get past her bigotry, she might be a fun character.
Shouldn't Sonny be more unstable by now?
It's nice to see that the aliens that abducted T.J. and replaced him with a poor double have finally returned the real one.

Jason asks Maxie to call Anna for him, I guess because he thinks she might not answer his call. Anna picks up but can only talk to Maxie for a few seconds before Valentin interrupts. It's not news to Jason that Anna and Valentin spent the night together, since he staked out the house all night, so I'm not sure what this all was supposed to accomplish. Anyway, Valentin is eager to build a life with Anna again, either in Port Charles or elsewhere. She pretends she's hesitant and needs to think things over first. Then she meets with Jason to report that she found a satellite phone in the house, which Jason thinks could be all they need to prove that Valentin's running Pikeman. Carly visits Brennan, somehow thinking that he'll be able to tell her if the FBI will hold up their end of the deal with Jason. Brennan says no, and also, she should be proactive in preparing for what will likely be her day in court, because there's no way the FBI will just decline to pursue charges against her. Diane was able to get Chase and Brook emergency custody of Violet, as well as the restraining order, and she delivers the paperwork to a distraught Finn. He accuses his brother and sister-of-law of a long-term scheme to take his child from him. He takes the case to Scott, trying to tempt him with an additional suit against the hospital for the way they treated him based on accusations that weren't backed up by any proof. Scott is the voice of reason for once in his life, telling Finn that a) a judge wouldn't have signed off on the custody arrangement and restraining order without proof that they were necessary, and b) Chase is doing something he feels he has to but doesn't want to. Finn doesn't even wait five minutes after the conversation to order a delivery of vodka, but he quickly smashes the bottles, so maybe he's finally realized that he's handling things badly. Sonny finally kicks Ava out of the penthouse, and she's either a great actress when it comes to pretending she doesn't know why he would do that or she's truly clueless about how much she's rubbed him the wrong way. Jason checks in with Elizabeth and they talk about Jake and how he may be coming around on his father. Elizabeth says that Jake and Aiden are doing okay in the wake of her breakup with Finn, but Jason wonders if anyone's looking after Elizabeth. That would be Scott, who wishes that Elizabeth had confided in him about Finn and who offers his support whenever she needs it.
Anna. Girl. You did not have to do that.
I love how Maxie told Anna exactly why she was calling.
I can't believe I'm recommending this, but this is what Carly should do: Play on John's obvious attraction to her and try to get him to cross a line so that if he does ever bring charges against her, Diane can argue that he mishandled the case.
I assume that now Brennan knows Jason's motivation for working with the FBI, which is why I told you to stop, Carly.
How many days do we think it'll be before Finn violates the restraining order? I say by the end of the week.
Also, having to turn to Scott for help should be another indication to him that he's nearing rock bottom.
Morgan mention – drink!

Finn runs into Chase at Gregory's bench, and though he's combative at first, he admits that Chase has been doing the right things, and that he needs to get himself together for Violet's sake. He's going to go to rehab, but first he wants to see Violet, which Chase thinks is fair. Ava sends Trina to get something of hers from Sonny's, and Sonny tells her to let Ava know that she'll be hearing from Diane about custody of Avery. Ava rants to Trina about this and more or less vows to play as dirty as necessary. Trina shares the news with Josslyn and Gio, and Josslyn gives him a brief explanation of why she dislikes both Ava and Sonny. Gio worries that Ava will be a legitimate threat to Sonny. Tracy extends an invitation for Brook, Chase, and Violet to move into the mansion if things get to the point where Finn loses custody. She admires Brook for stepping up so much, especially when she's supposed to be doing newlywed things right now. Kristina has drawn up a petition to keep the baby with the Davises if Molly and T.J. split up, and she asks Alexis to look it over, because she doesn't understand that when Alexis said she's staying out of this, she meant it. Alexis brings up the possibility that Kristina actually wants Molly and T.J. to break up, which Kristina doesn't give any indication of being true Sonny tells both of them that he kicked Ava out and is Team Alexis when it comes to her disbarment (which, as she reveals to them, has ended). Mac thanks Cody for helping out with family stuff while he was gone and apologizes for being suspicious of him in the past. Sasha's like, "What is wrong with you that you wouldn't jump at the chance to have that man as your father?" Ava seeks legal assistance from Scott, of course, and he warns that a custody fight between two unsavory people could get really messy.
I can't see them writing out Finn but having Violet stay, so my guess is that this is all an act and he's going to take her and run.
Ava is ridiculous for sending Trina to Sonny's in her place, and Sonny is ridiculous for bringing up a custody case to her. Grow up, both of you.
How can Brook be surprised that Tracy's proud of her? Everyone's proud of you, Brook!
Seriously, why so many Josslyn/Gio scenes?
If Cody doesn't reveal his paternity to Mac by the end of July, I'm gonna do it.

Finn explains things to Violet in an age-appropriate way and breaks the news that he has to go away for a while. She heartbreakingly thinks that she can do enough to help him on her own so that he doesn't have to leave. She eventually accepts the situation, and Brook is able to convince her that both she and her father will have enough to do to occupy themselves during their time apart. Chase drives Finn to rehab and Finn thanks him for all his help, whether or not it was welcomed in the past. He appreciates that after everything Chase has seen as a cop, he still wants to help people. Chase is pleased that Finn is making the right decision for himself and Violet, but he's privately frustrated that things have turned out the way they have. Sam tells Dante what Spinelli discovered in the FBI's database, and Dante's like, "Never speak a word about this to anyone ever again, for any reason." (Apparently she hadn't realized before that her actions could land her in prison.) They agree that Danny would be hurt if he found out that Jason chose Carly over him, basically, so they'll do what they can to keep that information from spreading. Carly gives Diane an overview of what the FBI has on her and how they're holding it over Jason's head. She still wants to get Jason off the hook, but Diane thinks she only has a 30 percent chance of avoiding prison time, even with only the recording meeting the standards of viable evidence. She tells Carly to do nothing while she starts putting together a defense in case Carly needs it. Jason teaches Danny about motorcycle maintenance and tells him a little about the accident that turned him from Jason Quartermaine to Jason Morgan. Josslyn and Dex continue their trek toward getting back together.
So...what happens in 90 days? They bring Michael Easton back for a couple of episodes and then have Finn and Violet move away? He sends for Violet off-screen? He dies off-screen and Violet lives with Chase and Brook from now on, spending the rest of her life suffering from horrible abandonment issues? That doesn't sound appealing. I guess we just put a pin in this and wait until the end of September to see what happens next.
If Jophielle Love didn't break your heart today, you have no soul.
My Carly-corrupts-John idea is looking better and better, isn't it?
I imagine that Diane says, "Why in God's name would you do something like that?" to her clients on a daily basis.
Oh, Carly. Diane doesn't have to ask who hacked into the FBI's database. She definitely knows the answer to that.

Carly tells Jason that she knows all about his arrangement with the FBI, and she wants to turn herself in to free him from it. Jason echoes what Spinelli said about that making everything he's done be for nothing. He also wouldn't be able to handle the guilt of knowing that Carly went to prison because of him. Carly gets all that, but she doesn't think she can live with knowing that she's the reason he lost time with his family. Brook presents Tracy's offer to Chase, who says that he spent the whole drive back from the rehab facility thinking about all the responsibilities he has now that he's never had before. When he got home, he remembered that he now has a wife to help him with everything, so they should make decisions together. Seeing how comfortably both Brook and Violet are at the mansion, he agrees that they should spend the summer there. Ava gives Laura a bunch of half-truths (and some outright lies) about her falling-out with Sonny, which Laura is too smart to take at face value, even knowing how erratic Sonny has been lately. Ava wants Laura on her side in case there's a custody case and she needs character witnesses. Laura really doesn't want to get involved, but she agrees to testify on Ava's behalf if necessary. Kristina wants to pass off her responsibilities at her youth center to someone else in case she winds up taking custody of the baby. Blaze is surprised that she's thinking that way and that she's willing to fight T.J. for custody on Molly's behalf. Kristina asks if Blaze would be willing to co-parent with her if she wound up with custody, but Blaze isn't ready for a family yet. Sonny and Natalia talk about betrayal and forgiveness and blah blah blah, just hook up already.
Good luck trying to keep Carly from doing something you don't want her to do, Jason.
Also, Carly, you don't "call the FBI's bluff." They'll just put you in prison and find something else to hold over Jasons' head.
If Brook and Chase ever split up, I legitimately might cry.
The point of Gio coming in while Brook and Chase were talking was...?
I'm surprised Ava isn't using what she knows about Sonny's medication against him. At least not yet, anyway.
I think Natalia's the first person to point out, albeit indirectly, that Ava basically named Avery after herself.
