December, 2004
December 2nd, 2004, 12:45 a.m. - Apprentice roundtable
I took part in RNO's Apprentice roundtable. I didn't really have anything interesting to say, but...well, honestly, do I ever? :)
December 5th, 2004, 9:12 p.m. - La la la
I'm listening to the radio, so...Songs I Hate:
And, Songs I Love:
9:47 p.m. - "The Quality of Ivana is Quite Strained"
New Apprentice extras article up. And that's from Shakespeare, dolts.
December 7th, 2004, 12:43 a.m. - "IKEA - Affordable Solutions for Better Racing"
New Amazing Race awards article up. IKEA better give me some free stuff, yo.
December 8th, 2004, 12:13 a.m. - I'm bored
You're never too old for these things, right? A couple of my friends have them on their xanga sites, and I'm bored, so...here.
1. WHAT IS YOUR FULL NAME? Jennifer Michelle Brasler
So now everyone can stop telling me that I should have a blog. Because I just did a very blog-like thing.
December 10th, 2004, 12:37 a.m. - Take that, CIA!
You may not have given me a job, but I have another interview in 10 hours. And I got a free pen from you guys, and I'm NOT GIVING IT BACK! So THERE!
December 12th, 2004, 3:36 p.m. - Bah humbug
Guess whose cat knocked over the Christmas tree that was just put up yesterday? Fortunately, he only broke one ornament, but he's still going to get coal in his stocking this year.
December 13th, 2004, 11:47 a.m. - "Marco Polo"
New Apprentice extras article up. I should've just called it "Shut Up, Jen."
4:12 p.m. - "Days of Whine and Lac Rose"
New Mazies article up. (My apologies for the title; it doesn't have quite the punch I was going for, but there wasn't much I could do about it.)
December 14th, 2004, 10:01 p.m. - His ox isn't broken, but his brain is
Dear CBS,
The next time you're casting for The Amazing Race, please conduct more thorough psychological tests of your contestants. Please also put them in very stressful situations and see how they react before you cast them. Because somehow a crazy dude slipped through your screening process.
Sincerely,
The We Hate Jonathan Society
December 15th, 2004 - I have entered...the working class
I got a job! There is, of course, an appropriate Buffy quote for this moment:
Wesley: "I didn't get this job because of my looks."
December 18th, 2004, 8:13 p.m. - Giving in
I've finally broken down and am getting a cell phone for Christmas. As always, there's an appropriate Buffy quote for this situation:
"Oh, I know, our ways are strange to you, but soon you will join us in the 20th century. With three whole years to spare!" - Jenny, "I Robot, You Jane"
December 19th, 2004, 7:08 p.m. - "Rain, Rain, Go Away" and "Beer Before Liquor"
AKA "I'm Apprenticed Out" and "Shut Up, Jonathan."
December 25th, 2004, 1:51 p.m. - Fa la la la la
Merry Christmas!
December 28th, 2004, 12:35 a.m. - "Get Out of My Dreams, Get Out of My Cab"
December 29th, 2004, 5:02 p.m. - What else is new?
It's my last week before I start work, so I'm going to watch a lot of TV, read trashy books, and do nothing productive. Aren't you jealous?
December 31st, 2004, 11:51 a.m. - Vote or die (not really)
Go submit your nominations for the 2004 RealityNewsOnline Awards!
1. "Give a Little Bit" (Goo Goo Dolls) - I like Goo Goo Dolls (and I know I'm in the minority on that), but this is a horrible cover. Even playing it on Joan of Arcadia didn't make me like it. And the music on that show usually rocks.
2. "Lady" (Lenny Kravitz) - Shut up, Lenny. Enough already.
1. "Over and Over" (Nelly and Tim McGraw) - Yeah, I know - Tim McGraw and Nelly? Together? But I love this song. I love it more than a person should.
2. "Nobody's Home" (Avril Lavigne) - Seriously. Avril Lavigne, you guys. If you'd told me a few months ago that I'd one day like not one, not two, but THREE Avril Lavigne songs ("Nobody's Home," "My Happy Ending," and "Don't Tell Me"), I would've run off screaming. But now I can actually admit that I like some of her songs. I still don't like HER, but this is a big step for me.
3. "Dare You to Move" (Switchfoot) - Yes, still. It hasn't gotten old for me yet.
4. "Fall to Pieces" (Velvet Revolver) - I can't get it out of my head. But that's good.
5. "Disappear" (Hoobastank) - I don't get the Hoobastank hate. Everything thinks they suck. I like this song! I like most of their songs. So everyone leave me alone!
6. "Vertigo" (U2) - Well...it's U2. What's not to like?
7. "Sunrise" (Duran Duran) - And I don't even like '80s music! Or music that sounds like it's from the '80s!
8. "Sunday Morning" (Maroon 5) - I heard part of this song on the Love Actually soundtrack, but the whole thing is pretty good.
