Seconds after Sonny kills John, Michael finds him with the body. He immediately takes charge and orchestrates a cover-up, sending Sonny to find Carly and ask her for a fake alibi. Carly quickly agrees without asking why Sonny needs one. Michael then pretends to come across John's body and call Chase. Anna comes to guide the investigation, but between the cover-up and the pouring rain that washed away any potential evidence, there's little to go on. Still, Tracy's the only person who's pretty sure that Sonny is the killer. Kristina goes to Irene's grave for some big, long monologues about her grief, her love, etc. Sam and Alexis spend the whole episode wondering where she is while not really doing much to find her. When she eventually comes home, Sam opens up a tiny bit about her own experiences losing a baby, but that doesn't really do much to help. Later, Alexis finds the gun Kristina took from Sonny's place. Jason comes across Isaiah and calls 911, then tracks down Ava at what turns out to be Sonny's request. He saves her just as Boyle is about to shoot her, and the tables get turned with Ava getting the chance to kill her would-be killer. She decides she doesn't want another death on her conscience, so she backs down. Ric is so obviously interested in rekindling things with Elizabeth that even Ace (who Tracy has dubbed "devil baby") is like, "Dude, you're coming on really strong." He tells her he's taking on Heather's case, and she warns that that won't endear him to anyone in town, as if there's anything that could accomplish that at this point. Drew and Willow do that thing again where they acknowledge that they have feelings for each other but insist that they don't want to hurt Michael, so they're going to bury their emotions and pretend everything's normal. Portia asks Jordan to help figure out who Isaiah is so they can let his family know what happened. Jordan gets sidetracked when she listens to the 911 call, recognizes Jason's voice, and wonders why he left Isaiah before paramedics or the police could arrive.

My sole reaction to John's death.

I laughed harder than I should have at Sonny's whole show with his belt.

A fun twist on this plot would be if Kristina gets arrested for killing John, Sonny tries to turn himself in, and the police don't believe he's guilty because they figure he's just trying to save Kristina.

I've said it before but it's even truer now: Michael is fully his father's son.

Carly...I mean...freaking A! Why would you agree to give Sonny an alibi without knowing what he needs it for??

If I were a better person, I would feel bad for Nina for being made to think that Sonny and Carly hooked up just upstairs from where she was hanging out. But I'm not, so I don't!

If Kristina didn't take the gun to kill herself, as I suspected, why did she take it? And if that was her intention, what made her change her mind?

Don't fall for his charms, Elizabeth! Stay strong!

I really want a scene where someone (maybe Jason or Nina) walks into a room, sees Ric, and walks right back out. (Hey, remember when Ric and Nina were married? That was really weird.)

"The life we built together means everything to me." It's hard to buy that when you keep kissing another man.

Kristina realizes that the gun she took from Sonny is missing, and for some reason, she calls Michael. She admits that she took it because she wanted to kill Ava and John, but she doesn't say why she didn't follow through. She's relieved to hear that John is dead, and Michael somehow convinces her, despite sound less convincing than anyone has ever sounded, that Sonny didn't kill him. Freaking out about Kristina having a gun while out on bail and unable to reach Diane to get advice, Alexis goes to the bridge where everyone hangs out. After giving it a lot of thought, she throws it over the side. Ric and Elizabeth see her but pretend to buy her story that she tossed a broken phone. Alexis then goes to Robert to complain about John's harassment of Kristina, and he informs her that John is dead. Sonny takes Carly home with him so they can work out the story they'll tell the police for their fake alibi. Carly really hates the whole thing, but let's just say that she doesn't take a lot of convincing to stay on board. She even agrees to spend the night, even though Sonny's reasoning for that is pretty flimsy. In other news, Sonny doesn't say a word about Michael's involvement in the cover-up or even that he knows that Sonny killed John. Jason tries to get Diane to represent both him and Ava as they tell the police everything that happened with Boyle. Diane really, really doesn't want to, but it ends up not mattering, as Jason and Ava tell the complete truth, both about the events of the evening and about how John made Ava falsify her testimony about what happened in the hotel room. Anna is able to corroborate their stories and they're both released without any trouble (which makes sense, since neither of them committed any crimes). To make Ava's night even better, she learns that John is dead and she doesn't have to worry about him anymore. No-Name Villain has insomnia because of a woman, so he plays poker with Lucky. Lucky tries to get him to agree to release him if he wins, but NNV will only go so far as to let him live until he loses a hand. Lucky keeps himself alive and has flashbacks about Elizabeth, who he's totally not over. Just as Lucky's starting to get desperate, knowing it's only a matter of time before he loses both the game and his life, the game gets interrupted by NNV's insomnia-causing woman. It's Holly, who's as surprised to see Lucky as he is to see her. Drew tells Curtis all about his make-out session with Willow and the feelings they've admitted to having for each other. Curtis, who could not want to be left out of this more, tries to convince Drew that everything will be okay as long as he and Willow stop acting on their feelings and pretend the actions they've already taken never happened. Meanwhile, Willow has a sex dream about Drew. Jordan asks Brick if he can identify Isaiah, since she thinks he's connected somehow to Jason. Brick doesn't know him, but he's more than happy to do some digging. Jordan voluntarily sticks around to chat with him and even agrees to a date, because I guess she has no self-control or something. Somehow, a conversation between Robert and Mac about John's murder turns into one about Cody, which becomes one about Holly.

I still wish we'd gotten a murder mystery, but I do like all the little developments coming up with John's murder.

Wow, Michael sucks at lying.

With John dead, the charges against Kristina should go away, right? Since he never got any evidence to back them up?

It would have been funny if Alexis' phone had rung after she told Ric and Elizabeth she threw it off the bridge.

Let's start taking bets now on when Sonny and Carly will hook up (because it's definitely a when, not an if).

Hee hee hee. The fake sex happened in Tracy's room. I hope Sonny and Carly both specify that in official statements and I hope it gets back to Tracy.

Oh, Curtis. If only we could all forget it ever happened.

Ironically, for someone who's been playing poker so well, Lucky's poker face is awful. Allow me to translate: "That voice sounds familiar.... Why does that voice sound familiar?... Oh. I know why that voice sounds familiar."

Congratulations to Elizabeth, who, over the course of three months, went from a boring love interest to a probable love triangle with two of the show's most interesting characters ever.

Poor Jordan is going to feel dumb when she finds out that Isaiah isn't connected to the mob. Then again, if that's her motivation to find out who he is, he'll appreciate her going above and beyond what she'd likely do if she didn't think he had that connection.

September 5th, 2024

Carly regrets her decision to blindly agree to help Sonny, but she thinks she can just keep her head down and power through until the police focus on someone else. But Diane tells the exes that to make their fake alibi believable, they need to make everyone believe that their hookup at the Quartermaines' wasn't their first. I laugh for 20 minutes straight. Diane lets Alexis know that Kristina's likely going to be in the clear, but that doesn't make Alexis feel any better, since she thinks that Kristina might have killed John. Unlike most people on this show, she asks Kristina right out if she did it. Kristina says no, but she's not exactly upset about it. She assures Alexis that she wasn't going to use the gun to kill herself, either. Alexis tells her that she got rid of the gun, which Kristina seems to think is a bigger deal than the fact that she had a gun while out on bail. Tracy hires a dialect coach to help Lois get rid of her accent, though the coach insists that she'd actually be empowering Lois and not completely changing her. Brook, Ned, and Olivia protest, but Lois seems to be considering working with her. Feeling like Ava deserves a second chance like the one Nina got from Willow, Nina tries to enlist Ric to replace Scott as Ava's lawyer. He refuses, since she's been accused of hurting Kristina and killing Irene. Tracy freaks out after her family implies that Sonny and Carly hooked up on her bed. Gio takes the information to Josslyn and Trina, because it wouldn't be an episode of this show if Josslyn didn't weigh in on something. Trina spends her precious few minutes of screentime this week telling Gio that Sonny and Carly aren't on good terms. Josslyn, meanwhile, starts filling with rage as she attempts to confirm whether the rumor is true. Now that Ric knows that John was murdered, he connects the dots to Alexis and her disposal of the gun. He wants to tell the police what he and Elizabeth saw, but he knows that his history with Alexis will be a roadblock to his credibility, so he pressures Elizabeth to come forward with him. Dante and Jordan both admit to feeling useless – he with regard to Lulu, she with regard to Irene – so they team up to try to figure out who Isaiah is. As Dante finds his phone at the scene of his hit-and-run, an assassin sent by NNV (whose name appears to be Sidwell) lurks around his hospital room, waiting for a chance to kill him.

"I'm not gonna take this any further than I absolutely have to." Uh-huh. Uh-huh. So when you and Sonny eventually get married for the eighth time, are you going to go back to Carly Corinthos or do you think you'll stick with Spencer?

The missing gun is something Diane could spin for a defense. She could argue that someone stole it and used it to kill John in order to frame Sonny.

Why is Kristina so worried about Sonny realizing that the gun is missing anyway? It's not like he's going to ground her for taking it.

Was the dialect-coach stuff supposed to be funny? The Sonny/Carly stuff is ten times funnier.

See my August 26th entry re: not watching Lois do a Brooklyn version of My Fair Lady, and know that I'm doubling down on that.

"Filthy Four-Legged Urges is the name of my new band." Careful, Gio. You're on the verge of being fun.

Suddenly Ric has morals?? Also, love that he won't defend Ava because of the connection to Kristina and Irene, but he apparently has no problem ratting out his daughter's mother for something that could send her to prison.

Dex has already graduated? Port Charles' police academy seems...not legitimate.

September 6th, 2024

Sonny tells Jason that one of his guns is missing, but neither has any idea who could have taken it, since no one knows the combination to the case it was kept in. Sonny's more worried about the unregistered gun he used to kill John, and he gives it to Jason to dispose of. At the same time, Anna confirms that Sonny owns a registered gun matching the one used to shoot John, so she and Dex go over to search his penthouse. Sonny doesn't put up a fight, since Jason has the actual murder weapon on him. The police note the absence of one of the guns, and Anna mentions that if Sonny had it, they could test it to see if it was the one that killed John. Lucky busts Holly for running a con on Sidwell, which she says she hopes to wrap up that night. He still thinks Isaiah is sending backup, and he offers Holly rescue if she needs it, but I'm pretty sure she can take care of herself. Sidwell knows that Lucky has been stalling because he thinks help is coming, but with the assassin still hanging around Isaiah's hospital room, Sidwell's confident that that's not going to happen. Ric calls Elizabeth out on avoiding doing the right thing by telling the police that they saw Alexis getting rid of a gun. Elizabeth makes multiple excuses not to get involved and tells Ric that he's been gone too long to know the kind of person she is now. In the end, though, he drags her to the police station and makes her tell Chase what they saw on the bridge. Elizabeth adds the editorial comment that she doubts that Alexis had anything to do with John's death. Ric comes up with a flimsy reason to stay back so he can happen to mention to Chase that Alexis has killed before and would do pretty much anything to protect her daughters. Josslyn is disgusted by the thought of Carly getting back together with Sonny, even though Carly says they're not reuniting. Josslyn also suspects that Carly gave Sonny a fake alibi, but it's not clear which possibility she believes more. Her concerns about Carly's return to the mob world are partly about Carly letting someone mistreat her and partly about her potentially risking her life for Sonny. Just one session with the dialect coach has Lois talking like an accentless person, albeit one who takes a long time to get out a sentence. Olivia hates it and Brook worries that Lois is letting the opinions of insignificant people get to her. Tracy's the only person happy with the results, though now it looks like Lois might start correcting her speech, which is going to get old really quickly. Dante finds out that Isaiah bought his phone in Nairobi, which Jordan notes is where Kevin and Laura just landed on their way to find Lucky. So finally, someone has made the connection between Isaiah and Lucky.

Hee. If Alexis had done nothing and Kristina had returned the gun, Sonny would be off the hook. Those darn Davis women!

Interesting that Sonny told Jason that Michael knows about the cover-up but didn't say that Carly isn't aware of that. So either he doesn't think that Jason will say anything or he's not worried that Jason might tell Carly.

You can stow the smugness, Dex. Sonny doesn't care if you have a badge now; he'll still punch you in the face.

I appreciate that, for once, long-distance travel is taking a realistic amount of time, but I feel like Laura and Kevin should have gotten to the compound by now.

That backbone was looking great on Elizabeth, until she let Ric wear her down. At least this means the odds are probably lower that she'll consider rekindling things with him.

Okay, enough Ric/Elizabeth scenes. He needs to interact with more people.

I'm really hoping that Lois is only faking her excitement about losing her accent so she can bug Tracy, and as soon as Tracy breaks, Lois will go back to speaking normally.

"Put her back!" Seriously. Thank you, Olivia.

September 9th, 2024

Sonny stonewalls Anna until Diane arrives and works her magic to get Anna to back off. Anna tries to separate Jason from Sonny, thinking that Jason might choose to do the right thing, like, yeah, he's going to rat on his best friend of 30 years for killing a guy they both hated. Jason exercises his Fifth Amendment rights, as he usually does, and Diane definitely wishes that Sonny would follow suit, because his announcement that he hated John and is glad he's dead doesn't make him look good. Michael and Kristina show up in the middle of things, and when Anna asks if either of them took the missing gun, Michael quickly catches on and says that of course they didn't. After Anna and Jason both leave, Kristina confesses to Sonny that she took the gun and that Alexis got rid of it. Meanwhile, Jason destroys the real murder weapon. T.J. tells Ric that he thinks that Molly will be talked into forgiving Kristina, while T.J. will never be able to. He's probably right, as Alexis is on a mission to get her daughters to make up, but that's not going to happen any time soon, especially since it's only been a little over a month since Irene died. Alexis' attempt to get Molly and Kristina to talk crumbles into a screaming match and Molly complaining again that Alexis always takes Kristina's side. Lucky begs Holly to help him escape, but she's in this for diamonds and doesn't want to risk losing out on her payday. She thinks that Lucky, being Luke's son, is perfectly capable of saving himself. Jordan catches the assassin as he's about to kill Isaiah and easily figures out that he's not really a hospital employee. She chases him into a stairwell, and though he almost injects her with what he was going to give Isaiah, she takes back control and restrains him. When she has him hauled to the police station, she recognizes him on surveillance footage from the airport, realizing that he's been following Isaiah since he arrived in town. Back at the hospital, Isaiah wakes up while Elizabeth is in his room and says Lucky's name. Dex tells Chase about Sonny's missing gun, which Chase suspects could be the one Alexis got rid of, though he's not sure about the connection. After conferring with Anna, the two guys go to Alexis' house to question her. Portia's become obsessed with finding out Heather's test results and whether she's still suffering from cobalt poisoning. Curtis gets it, but he suggests that she think twice about letting Heather have that much power over her. Portia expresses concerns about Ric taking over as Heather's lawyer, so when Curtis runs into Ric, he asks how the Ashfords can be sure that Trina will be protected. Ric manages to spin things to make him look like a better choice than Scott because he cares about the Ashfords (sure) and will focus only on the medical aspects of the case and not the part where Heather might not be liable for her crimes (uh-huh, sure).

I'm actually on Molly and T.J.'s side now (except for the stuff about blaming Kristina for Irene's death; that's cracked). They shouldn't be pressured to forgive Kristina. If Molly decides to never speak to Kristina again, I would support that. Alexis needs to go back to staying out of this. At the very least, leave them alone for a few months before trying again to get them to make up.

Also, Alexis, Kristina is in no way alone. She has the whole Corinthos side of her family showing up for her. And she's the one who sent Blaze away, so...yeah. Plus, I agree with Molly that saying that Kristina's doing worse right now isn't helping. It makes it seem like Alexis thinks Kristina is entitled to more grief than Molly is.

I guess it would be too reasonable to suggest that Lucky ask Holly to call the WSB for him. Then he can be rescued without anyone suspecting that she was involved.

The line for the Jordan Ashford Fan Club forms behind me.

But...it doesn't matter if Heather is still suffering from cobalt poisoning. It matters if she was when she killed a bunch of people. Also, she's committed a ton of crimes over the years. Did she have cobalt poisoning the whole time?

September 10th, 2024

Elizabeth is shocked when Isaiah tells her that he knows Lucky. She doesn't get to ask him much before she's called away, but Carly gets Lucky's location out of him, and Anna learns of his work in Africa and journey to New York. When Elizabeth finally gets the chance to talk to Isaiah again, he tells her that Lucky's in a dangerous situation and might have already been killed. One of Sidwell's employees tells him that the mines they've been raiding aren't yielding the amounts that they were hoping for. Sidwell literally kills the messenger and decides it's time to move to another location. Unsure whether to bring Lucky along or kill him, Sidwell finishes a poker hand and honors Lucky's umpteenth win (which he achieved by cheating) by keeping him alive. Molly thinks that Kristina killed John and that Alexis is going to take the fall for her. She tries to look at everything from the perspective of a lawyer and leave aside everything personal, but that just brings her to the same conclusion. She tells T.J. that she's going to work to exonerate Alexis and get Kristina to confess. Meanwhile, Michael tells Kristina to keep her mouth shut and let things play out, because there's no way there will ever be enough evidence against Alexis to send her to prison. Kristina's pleased that he believes her assertion that she didn't kill John. Anna thinks that Jason will help her with the investigation into John's murder because they worked together before and were kind of becoming friends. Jason's like, "I'll help you where I can, but if you're expecting me to say that Sonny killed John, don't hold your breath." Anna's like, "Maybe I don't want to be friends after all." Carly asks Brennan to try to track down Lucky again, and though he claims that using WSB resources for off-the-books reasons could jeopardize his career, he agrees. Jordan is supposed to help Drew with something political, but she's distracted by the thoughts of her heroic deeds. Drew thinks she misses being in law enforcement and urges her to go work with Anna. She chooses to stay with him instead, and I don't know if that means something, but if it does, she should definitely use protection.

I'd appreciate it if Isaiah expressed a little more urgency about Lucky's situation.

Of all the people Elizabeth could have called, she chose Carly?

Brennan, no! We do not use Lucky's name for sexual innuendo!

"Michael? The same guy that gives TED Talks whenever someone isn't honest with him about truth and honesty?" Ha! Excellent point, T.J.

"I thought we were becoming friends." Oh, honey. Jason was always going to go back to crime. It was always a matter of when, not if.

September 11th, 2024

Alexis won't just tell Molly that she got rid of a gun that had no connection to John's death, so Molly continues believing that Kristina killed John and that Alexis is covering for her. When she learns that Ric was one of the witnesses who sent the police in Alexis' direction, Molly confronts him, but she's not as mad at him as she is at Kristina. Ric tries to convince her that Ava's telling the truth about Kristina having an accidental fall, but Molly wants someone to blame so badly that she can't see things clearly. Even without having any evidence to back up her theory, Molly makes a statement to Dex that she believes Kristina killed John. Alexis is pretty sure that no one will be able to build a case against her, and she has full faith in Diane anyway, so she's pretty calm about being a person of interest in John's murder. Diane disapproves of how she's handling things and says that if Alexis gets put on trial, she won't represent her. Nina tries again to get Ric to represent Ava, but even knowing that she changed her story and Irene's death is an accident doesn't sway him to help a woman whose actions led to his daughter being hurt. Ava appreciates having Nina and Trina (...heh) on her side, and she's hopeful despite facing both criminal charges and an ugly custody battle. After talking to Molly, Ric changes his mind and agrees to be Ava's lawyer, if only to expose the truth so Molly can accept that no one's to blame and start to move on. Anna can't shake her suspicion that Sidwell sent someone after Isaiah because of something Isaiah did, or because he saw something he wasn't supposed to. Isaiah is very tight-lipped about the circumstances surrounding his abduction, and even more tight-lipped when Jordan tries to find out if he has any family. He tells her that there are thins he doesn't want to revisit, which she can relate to. While waiting for satellite photos of the area where Lucky's suspected to be, Carly and Brennan discuss John's murder, her alleged relapse with Sonny, and her insistence that she's not getting involved in mob stuff again. Anna comes by in time to learn that Sidwell's compound has been abandoned. Carly desperately offers Brennan money to continue trying to locate Lucky, but he's not sure it's worth the trouble, as even if a transplant saves Lulu, the length of her coma means she has little chance of a meaningful life. Carly makes it clear that she won't give up on finding a way to help her cousin as long as Lulu's alive. Willow starts back at GH and promptly oversteps by asking Elizabeth questions about Lucky and whether she thinks he'll come back to Port Charles. Elizabeth admits that she's worried that Aiden will get his hopes up that Lucky will move back, but will end up disappointed. In other Willow news, she practically confesses to Lulu that she's been doing stuff with Drew, vowing again to cut it out.

By having Molly point the finger at Kristina as a murderer, the show has systematically dismantled the entire Davis connection, and unless the decision to fire Kelly Monaco gets reversed, it's only going to get worse.

"She's not in her right mind." Yes, she is! She's perfectly sane! Stop acting like she's two seconds away from a complete breakdown!

I wouldn't be the slightest bit surprised if Ric agreed to represent Ava in the custody battle, too.

I can't believe that Ric has been on almost every day for four weeks and hasn't run into Sonny yet.

Speaking of Sonny and how mad Ric is that he never faces consequences for his actions – hey, Ric, how much prison time did you get for keeping a pregnant woman hostage in your house? Zero? Do I have that right?

Isaiah's a transplant surgeon? How convenient!

Friendly reminder that we still know absolutely nothing about Jordan's family and history after almost ten years. Could her blatantly obvious future romance with Isaiah be what finally cracks things open?

I think I've said this about other coma patients in the past, but it would be awesome if a bunch of people told Lulu their secrets and she remembers them all when she wakes up.

Why was Willow talking to Lulu like they've never met?

September 12th, 2024

Diane wants Sonny to step up and find a way to get Alexis off the hook for the crime she can't say out loud that she's sure he committed but is pretty sure he did. Sonny isn't sure how to accomplish that, but he vows to keep Alexis from being sent to prison. Also, he now knows what happened to his gun, and that Ric was one of the people who told the police that Alexis disposed of it, so it's only a matter of time before we get a Sonny/Ric fight. Jason isn't happy to hear that Carly's relying on Brennan to locate Lucky. She's vague about whether she believes he's shady, but what's clear is that she'll deal with whoever she needs to in order to get Lucky home so he can save Lulu. It's no real surprise when she asks Jason to play the hero, and he says yes, probably partly because he knows she'll never shut up if he doesn't. Sasha surprises Cody with a Scorpio family brunch, which goes great until James starts asking questions about the exact nature of Sasha and Cody's relationship. Cody says that he'd like Sasha to be his girlfriend, then worries that he overstepped. She says yes, and just when things are about to get back on track, Tracy shows up and throws a fit because someone who's supposed to work for her family is being nice to other people, basically. Sasha and Mac both stand up to her, which Cody appreciates, and James inadvertently shames her by being like, "I get cranky when I'm hungry, too, by which I mean that you're acting like a child, so have some quiche and shut up." Josslyn can't believe that Michael isn't as frustrated as she is that Carly's going to such lengths to help Sonny. She also doesn't seem to have a grasp on the fact that Michael might have realized, after all the time he spent mad at Sonny, that it wasn't worth it. Michael basically tells her to suck it up. Tracy seizes on Sonny's probable murder of John as a(nother) good reason to call off letting him invest in Deception. No one agrees with her, and Lois thinks she's just mad because Sonny and Carly allegedly hooked up in her room. Natalia gives Sonny a heads-up that Tracy could invoke the morality clause in his contract, but of everything Sonny's dealing with right now, that's, like, 15th on the list, so I don't think he's going to lose any sleep over it. Brook has been thinking a lot about having a baby, but she's not sure if it's good timing right now, and she's worried that she and Chase will never be on the same page at the same time. Lois tries to reassure her, and Brook decides to start the ball rolling sooner rather than later.

"Alexis just framed herself for murder." Heh. I guess that's true.

What was the point of Laura and Kevin going to look for Lucky if Jason's just going to swoop in and save him?

Please tell me that Carly doesn't actually believe that her attempted kidnapping by Brennan was just a matter of "miscommunication."

"Are you ready for something fun and exciting?" Yes, but I doubt that Sasha and Cody can deliver something that qualifies.

Who did Lois' hair, and can I kick them in the shins?

September 13th, 2024

Alexis is understandably frustrated with Sonny when he won't admit to killing John and acts like he won't lift a finger to keep her from taking the fall. Then he has the nerve to be annoyed when Mac arrests her for murder. Brennan has information for Carly on Lucky's location, but Anna hangs up his phone before he can share it. She wants it for herself, as she's decided to go rescue Lucky in honor of Luke. Brennan and Felicia both think that's a bad idea, but Anna's made up her mind. With no follow-up from Brennan, Carly and Jason go back to Isaiah in case he can give them anything helpful. Since he's new to town, he believes that Jason's just a coffee importer and therefore isn't qualified for a one-man rescue mission. Isaiah wants to tag along, but he's in no shape for that. He tells Jason that Sidwell's girlfriend is his way in, though he doesn't know her name, as he's only heard Sidwell call her English. Jason and Anna both head to Africa thinking they're on their own, only discovering when they get on the same plane that they have the same mission. Michael wants to pay a criminal with a grudge against John to make a false confession so Alexis and Kristina (and Sonny, of course) are off the hook. Chase summons Kristina for questioning, but Michael does his best Diane impersonation and won't let her say much. That said, she does lie that she was only at Alexis' house and the cemetery the night John was killed. While trying to puzzle out who would have told the police that Kristina left Alexis', something Chase shouldn't have known, Kristina figures out that Molly made a statement against her. P.S. Kristina went to the Quartermaines' before she went home, so...yeah. Tracy objects to the idea of Brook and Chase having a baby any time soon, because apparently she thinks Chase would have to leave his job and Brook wouldn't be able to balance parenting with her Deception responsibilities. Lois gets so mad at Tracy for inserting herself in the couple's business that she reverts to factory settings. Chase overhears the conversation and thinks that Brook's pregnant. While the two of them sort that out and agree that they want to start trying for a baby right away (like, right now, on a couch in a room anyone could walk into), Lois assures Tracy that Brook having a baby won't hurt their relationship. Felicia thinks that Tracy got mad about the brunch because she considers Cody a friend and is feeling territorial. Mac wants to get Cody a new job and a new place to live so he doesn't have to deal with her, but Felicia, who's probably trying very hard to keep from laughing, tells him to let Cody take care of himself.

People need to stop saying that Alexis doesn't have an alibi. She does have one; the issue is that it's Sam, and no one's going to believe her if she says she was with Alexis all night.

Jason and Anna, stuck next to each other for 18 hours? Take a sleeping pill now, Anna.

Dante should have gone with Jason. He feels like he's sitting around doing nothing; they should have him...you know, do something. But I guess someone needs to stay back to make medical decisions for Lulu.

I guess Anna gave up on her plan to find Charlotte. Speaking of which, are Valentin and Charlotte ever going to resurface? I would have assumed that they were off the show, but James Patrick Stuart would have said something.

I know someone used to call Holly "English," but I can't remember if it was Robert or Luke. Either way, Carly and Jason wouldn't know that, but if Jason mentions it to Anna, she might.

Michael's lost it, and there's no way Chase isn't suspicious.

Yeah, Kristina, I'm sure no one saw you at the Quartermaines'. It's not like there were 30 people there at the time.

If Brook's responsibilities at Deception are so huge, how was she planning to run a record label? Hush, Tracy.

September 16th, 2024

Alexis is calmer about her situation than most people would be, since she knows that getting rid of the gun isn't enough to lead to a conviction for murder. She decides that she should answer the police's questions even though she doesn't have a lawyer, and she concocts a story about finding the gun on her property and getting rid of it out of fear that one of her grandchildren would come across it. She claims that she only went from her house to the bridge and back, unknowingly backing herself into a corner because the police have just found new evidence against her: her car was seen at the Quartermaines'. Kristina accuses Molly of pointing the police in her direction, but Molly won't apologize because she knows Kristina must have done something, even if she didn't kill John, and she hates that Alexis is falling on her sword. Dex lets Molly know that Alexis has been arrested, and Molly urges Kristina to make a full confession to get her off the hook. Kristina goes to Dante, of all people, and he's like, "Aside from the fact that I have something way bigger to worry about right now, I can't do anything for you." Sonny and Ric finally encounter each other, and unsurprisingly, they're fighting within two minutes. Ric is basically the new John, as he plans to use Kristina's tumultuous life as a reason Sonny shouldn't get custody of Avery. He rants about how Alexis favors Kristina, and how she and Sonny coddle their daughter and always clean up her messes. Sonny thinks it all goes back to what all their problems stem from: the fact that Adela chose him over Ric. In the end, Ric is more thrilled than ever to get to try to take one of Sonny's kids away from him, and though Ava's skeptical about whether she can trust Ric, she's pretty sure he's fully on her side. Danny hears that Jason's on his way to find Lucky, and he's so thrilled that he rushes to the hospital to share the news with Dante. He runs into Elizabeth first and she calls Sam, who tries really hard to be supportive of Danny's pride in his father when she's more upset that he's run off into a dangerous situation once again. She's frustrated that Jason won't prioritize his children, and it doesn't help that Elizabeth is all, "But he offered to pay Jake's tuition, so it's not all bad!" Sam crosses a line (even she admits it) by warning Elizabeth that when Lucky eventually gets home, Aiden's going to face the same problems with him that Jake and Danny did with Jason. She also predicts that Elizabeth will lose sleep over worrying about Lucky putting himself in danger. Danny overhears and guesses that Sam thinks that Jason could get killed, but he's confident that his father will get home safely. Tracy continues complaining that Sasha hosted a get-together at the Quartermaines', but Sasha has her pegged and knows that if Cody had played host, she would have been fine with it. Tracy tries to spin things as a concern that Sasha is holding herself back by working for the Quartermaines and thinks too much about Cody's happiness. Sasha stands up for herself, saying that Tracy's jealous because Cody's time with his new family takes away his time with her, and it's her own fault that she doesn't have more friends to hang out with. Dante gets a little too the-gentleman-doth-protest-too-much while telling Cody that he loves his life the way it is now and just wishes Lulu had her life back.

So thrilled to keep watching Molly and Kristina have the same fight over and over. Such great TV.

I hope to get through life without ever being in a situation where one of my brothers feels the need to ask me if I murdered someone.

Ava and Ric are toooooootally going to hook up.

You're right, Danny! You don't have to worry about your father dying. (glares at Frank Valentini)

Kristina wants to tell the police the truth about her activities the night of John's murder, thinking that that will be enough for them to let Alexis go. Alexis thinks they'll suspect that Kristina's lying to help her, or that she'll inadvertently incriminate herself. At the arraignment, which only the Davis women are present for, Alexis has to go up against a lawyer representing the FBI. He paints her as a flight risk and a danger to the community, and though the judge agrees with Alexis that her past crimes are irrelevant, he won't grant bail, and he sends her to Pentonville before the trial. Molly tells Sonny not to come to Alexis' arraignment, since his presence could make the judge go harder on her. Sonny insists on being there for Kristina, which is, of course, the wrong thing to say to Molly, who doesn't care the slightest bit about her sister's feelings right now. Sonny says he's doing everything he can to ensure that Alexis doesn't face prison time, but so far, it looks like all he's done is make a phone call. Sam is sure that Michael knows something about what Kristina was up to the night of John's murder, and she's even more sure that he knows that Sonny killed him. Michael basically brushes her off, only caring what happens to Kristina. He tells Sonny that Sam is putting things together, but hopefully she'll back off and let things play out. Sonny's just grateful that Michael didn't rat him out to the police. While Nina's gushing to Sasha about Drew, he's having another awkward encounter with Willow. Sasha finally tells Willow that she saw them kissing on July 4th and is available if Willow ever wants to talk. Willow's all, "Woe is me, I have no self-control, my life is so complicated," like, if you're not being sent to jail pending trial for a murder someone else committed, you can go sit down. Drew's starting to have second thoughts about his campaign, partly because his opponent has a family, which automatically makes her more likable, apparently. Nina thinks that if the two of them are seen together a bunch, rumors will start circulating that they're dating, and somehow that will help him. Stella thinks that Trina is hiding out in the gallery instead of getting on with her life and pursuing her dreams again. She successfully talks Trina into going back to school, knowing it's not too late to enroll for the fall semester because she already checked on that.

Sam should have had her conversation with Sonny instead of Michael. Well, really, Kristina should have been the one to talk to Sonny. She's the one whose mother is going to jail because her father is too cowardly to do anything meaningful to help her.

It seems to me that Sonny's only regret about this whole thing is that Michael caught him. Gross.

"All that matters right now is protecting Kristina." Stop it, Michael. You're being gross, too.

Willow, I'm going to need you to stuff it. Other people on this show have actual problems bigger than your ridiculous love triangle.

LOL at Nina thinking that associating with her will help Drew in the polls.

September 18th, 2024

Alexis can't convince the judge to send her somewhere other than Pentonville, so she stoically accepts her fate, which the show makes a big, dramatic deal about, as if she hasn't done this before. Molly gets shoved aside once again while Sam takes Kristina to the hospital so she can finally get some sort of psychiatric help for all of her issues. Kristina has a great talk with Felicia, who understands what she's going through and assures her that if she works at it, her grief will diminish. Molly and T.J.'s anger over the situation with Ava has gotten to Kristina, though, and she admits to feeling like Irene's death was her fault. Ric tells Heather that according to her blood tests, her cobalt levels haven't changed enough for them to be able to prove that the cobalt poisoning was to blame for her actions. Heather insists that she feels different since the revision surgery, and her sadness over losing out on the chance to be with her family seems to make Ric feel actual feelings. He reveals to Elizabeth that he also had a test done by an outside lab, and those results are completely different from the ones done by GH. Natalia takes up screentime that could be going to someone else and proves to be a naïve little bunny by not figuring out that Sonny killed John. For all his big talk about doing everything he can to help Alexis, all Sonny does is hire Martin to defend her. Sam vents to Dante that she thinks the hits the Davises keep taking might not be something they can come back from. She decides to turn her focus to finding evidence that Alexis didn't kill John, starting by finding the gun she threw off the bridge.

Heather is Alexis' cellmate? Who could have ever seen that coming??

This is everything Sonny can do to help Alexis? (No offense, Martin.)

I can't believe they didn't have a cutesy intro between Martin and Natalia, since their actors were both on All My Children.

How long before we find out that Portia altered Heather's test results?

Anna and Jason track Sidwell to a casino and immediately realize that his girlfriend is Holly. She spots them but keeps quiet about knowing them. Anna and Jason work out a scheme to steal Sidwell's phone so they can get Lucky's location from it, but Holly confronts Anna after she gets her hands on it. Dante meets Isaiah, who gives him some reassurance about Lucky's odds of making it home and the possibility that Lulu can hear when people talk to her. Rocco comes by the hospital and admits to Dante that he feels like he's been kept away from his mother. Dante admits that he's been shielding Rocco from the realities of her condition, but Rocco is still being optimistic. Ric makes it clear that he wants to get back together with Elizabeth, acting like he's been stricken with amnesia and has no idea why she might not be up for that. She tells him that definitely isn't going to happen, but she'd like them to be friends. He claims he won't try to press things, but I think we all know that the second she shows even the slightest bit of interest in rekindling their romance, he'll jump on it. Cyrus introduces himself to Isaiah, who's under the impression that he's just Lulu's kindly uncle who cares about those in need. Jordan quickly sets him straight and even tells him a little about her past dealings with Cyrus and his crimes. Also, the two of them are totally into each other. Gio feels bad for telling Josslyn that Sonny and Carly hooked up, but she's not about to shoot the messenger. He finally proves his worth as a character by convincing her to stop spending so much time thinking about her mother's decisions.

Anna will need to take a picture of Jason in a white tux, because otherwise, no one will ever believe that she got him to wear one. And trust me, a lot of people are going to want to see it.

Jason is the last person I would ever want to play poker with.

I'm looking forward to Anna losing it on Holly when she finds out that Holly hasn't lifted a finger to help Lucky. And then when Laura finally catches up to them, she can yell at Holly, too.

Really, Ric? You don't know why Elizabeth wouldn't want to get back together with you?

Elizabeth's "shutting down" of Ric is like that episode of How I Met Your Mother where every time Lily tries to tell her high school boyfriend that she doesn't want to be with him, she can't keep herself from adding, "Right now."

The sentiment behind Jordan and Josslyn's conversation about organ donation was nice, but...both of their transplants were done with organs taken from people who didn't consent to the donations.

September 20th, 2024

Holly threatens to bust Anna for stealing Sidwell's phone, but she backs down when Anna tells her that she and Jason are looking for Lucky because Lulu needs him. As I'd hoped, Anna blasts her for not doing anything to help Lucky escape. Holly makes excuses and provides the intel that Sidwell's phone won't help Anna and Jason sneak into his camp. Anna comes up with plan B: Infiltrate from the inside. Jason gets on Sidwell's good side by busting a fellow poker player for cheating, and Sidwell can't stop himself from continuing the game so Jason's poker skills don't show him up. He runs out of money and wagers a diamond bracelet that Holly was eager to get her hands on. When he loses, Holly bugs Sidwell to invite Anna and Jason to their camp so he can get more money and keep playing. But one of Sidwell's minions overheard Anna and Holly talking, and Sidwell has started plotting revenge. Lucky gets beaten up by Sidwell's minions and either dreams or hallucinates that Elizabeth is with him. She calls him out for running away from his family and doesn't accept his excuse that he didn't want people to see who he really is. She says he's a coward who can't admit that he's flawed, and if he wants to show how much he regrets leaving, he'll come home. This gives Lucky the motivation he needs to get up and start picking the lock on his cell. Willow tries to flee the Savoy about 30 seconds after she arrives with Michael, since Drew's there with Nina. Drew thinks that people will start getting suspicious if they keep avoiding each other, and they shouldn't have to, since nothing's happening between them and it totally never will! Ever! Nina advises Drew to step back from Aurora so he can turn his full focus to his campaign. She expects him to hand things off to Michael, but Drew chooses Curtis instead, just minutes after Portia suggested that he have an exit plan in mind in case the Quartermaines totally lose it. Michael's obviously hurt not to be Drew's first choice as acting CEO, but Drew thinks he should devote more energy to getting ELQ back from Valentin. Michael and Ned have had a fight about just that, as Michael can't let go of Ned's past betrayal of the family and Ned can't let go of the fact that Michael is so Corinthos-y. This turns into a fight between Ned and Lois that turns into her defending Sonny and Ned trashing him. Ned is confident that Sonny killed John, and he doesn't trust Lois' judgment of her old friend because her abandonment of her accent means she's not the same person she used to be. Gio tries to play peacemaker, which just leads to him and Lois talking about how awesome Sonny is.

Granted, I don't know much about this kind of stuff, but should Anna and Jason be using their real names?

I need Anna to stop calling Jason "darling." It's weird.

I'm still not really a Holly fan, but I loved her glee when she asked who knew that Anna and Jason were "together."

It would be hilarious if, after four people flew halfway across the world to rescue him, Lucky saved himself. It would be even more hilarious if he wound up saving Jason and Anna, too.

Okay, Gio. Go take a seat (at the kids' table).

September 23rd, 2024

Robert and Felicia try to get an update out of Brennan, who will only tell them that Anna and Jason made contact with Sidwell in Nairobi. Robert wonders if Brennan is going out of his way to help because he wants to earn points with him and Laura. Felicia thinks it's more about winning points with Carly. She's probably right, because the next person Brennan goes to see is Carly. This mostly gives Josslyn – who's like, "I'm going to try to stop passing judgment about Sonny and Carly's possible reunion, but also, I'm totally not going to" – another man to distrust. Carly seems fine with being friends with Brennan, though she warns him that other people in town won't be able to move past his previous misdeeds as easily as she has. T.J. laments to Curtis that he and Molly have been avoiding each other. Curtis can relate a little, since he pushed Portia away after his shooting, which he says was a way to try to control something in situation he otherwise couldn't control. T.J. isn't sure if the strength of his and Molly's relationship up until now means they have a future together. Molly hangs out with Dex, confiding that she feels like the universe is sending her a message with all the obstacles she's faced in trying to become a mother. She adds that court is the only place she feels confident and like herself. Portia learns for the first time that Brad has been back at GH for a month, and she blasts Terry for allowing him to be rehired. But Portia is now confirmed to be a big old hypocrite, because we get a flashback of her changing Heather's test results. I don't think she'll be losing any sleep over that, though, since it means Trina doesn't have to worry about Heather getting out of prison. The conversation with Portia has Terry thinking about second chances, and she asks Elizabeth if she thinks Heather deserves one. Elizabeth's like, "Just keep her away from me." P.S. Steven is out of prison, if anyone cares. Brook and Gio are filler.

If the parallel continues between Willow and Lulu's medical emergencies, does that mean Lulu's going to fall in love with Jason?

If Dex were anyone else, I might foresee Molly cheating on T.J. with him, but no way is Dex going to cheat on Josslyn.

Okay, now how long before Portia frames Brad?

They're not going to bring Steven back again, are they?

There's a fan theory that Gio is Brook and Dante's son from a teenage fling, but I can't make the math work without Dante having committed statutory rape.

September 24th, 2024

Diane catches Carly being a little too friendly with Brennan and reminds her that Sonny's fake alibi depends on the police believing that he and Carly have rekindled things. Ideally, Diane would like them to move back in together, but at the very least, they need to act like a couple. Carly goes straight to Sonny, blasts him for getting too close to Natalia, and tells him what Diane said. She refuses to lie to Josslyn or Donna about the true state of their non-relationship, but she's resigned to pretending they're together, which, let's just say, Sonny doesn't have any complaints about. Alexis tells Martin why she's protecting Kristina and continually refuses to amend the statement she made about the night of John's murder in order to exonerate herself. She thinks there's enough evidence pointing to Kristina for her to be put on trial, and if anyone's going to go to court for a murder they didn't commit, Alexis wants it to be her. Martin agrees to obey her wishes, but he wants to mount a defense by pointing the finger at Sonny. Molly attempts to bridge the gap between her and T.J. with breakfast at the hospital, but all that happens is she complains about Alexis protecting Kristina. T.J. ends up having to confide in Stella because his partner can't stop avoiding her feelings for two minutes. Chase has more questions for Kristina about the night of John's murder, and even without knowing any details about anything, Dante knows it's a bad idea for her to talk to him. He quickly calls Diane and sends her over, which ends the conversation before Kristina can do much more than admit that she might have taken a rideshare to the cemetery on the night in question. Diane assures Kristina that because she was questioned without an attorney present, nothing she said can be used against her in court. However, Chase is allowed to follow up on what she said, which could lead to cans of worms being opened, so Kristina needs to get a lawyer ASAP. Chase is smart enough to know that Diane's arrival wasn't out of the blue, and he warns Dante that if he interferes in the investigation again, Chase will report him. Heather is strangely nice to Alexis, but it still doesn't justify giving her any screentime.

Operation: Strange Bedfellows is basically a repeat of Sonny and Carly's 2007 marriage of convenience, but it was entertaining back then, and honestly, it's pretty entertaining now, mostly because he's all, "Well, this is a bummer. Anyway, dinner tonight?"

Also, thanks to Diane for that name, which I'm totally stealing.

I hate how the circumstances of the cover-up mean that Chase is a villain.

If my mother were facing prison time to protect me, I would, like, take an acting class or something to become a better liar.

To Natalia, who clearly thinks she's adorable: You're not.

Gross of them to have Heather express sympathy to Alexis over losing a grandchild when she almost lost another because Heather jumped off the hospital roof holding him. Yeah, I haven't forgotten.

September 25th, 2024

Anna pretends she wants to do business with Sidwell, even giving him a reference to call who can verify that she's legit. He thinks it's all a little too convenient. Holly sneaks off to free Lucky, who's just freed himself, but she can't convince him to stick around long enough to help Anna and Jason make an escape. Sidwell catches them outside Lucky's cell, and Holly lies that she was going to bring him to the poker game he was planning for his new guests. Sidwell busts the women for knowing each other but still doesn't know that they're both connected to Lucky. He declares that they're going to play a game with three possible outcomes: 1) Anna and Jason live, 2) Lucky and Holly live, or 3) Sidwell wins and he gets to kill everyone. Alexis doesn't like that Martin's plan to turn the spotlight on Sonny will still require her case to go to trial. She knows that Kristina will just end up confessing in open court, which will make all of this pointless. She urges Martin to look for someone else to throw suspicion on instead. Martin then meets with Molly, who also wants to make Alexis look innocent by making Sonny look guilty. Martin doesn't seem to think that'll be a problem even though Sonny's the one who hired him to defend Alexis. Kristina admits to Sonny that she went to the Quartermaines' to kill John the night he died. Like Alexis, he wants her to keep that to herself. Kristina all but asks him if he killed John, a question he sidesteps. He promises that he won't let Alexis be punished for a crime she didn't commit. Sam begs Carly to recant her statement giving Sonny a fake alibi so Alexis won't have to face prison time. For some reason, she thinks Carly will put someone else's family ahead of her own. Even when Sam points out that Carly has put Jason in danger and owes her, Carly won't budge. Jordan opens up to Isaiah about Irene's death and how she doesn't feel like the loss is hers to mourn. Isaiah thinks it is, and he urges her to talk to someone about it. Jordan visits Alexis and asks if she was really going to help Kristina take Irene from Molly and T.J. Alexis is relieved to finally get to clarify that she wasn't involved in Kristina's petition, and she was sure that Kristina would have changed her mind about it by the time Irene was born. Alexis and Jordan lament that their kids are struggling and hope that they'll work things out and stay together. Carly is optimistic that the progress Anna and Jason have made means Lucky will be home soon, but Isaiah brings down her mood by telling her that without a trained team backing them up, they probably won't succeed.

I'm sorry, did Lucky just try to throw Anna and Jason under the bus? Dude, they came to save you!

I'm as frustrated with Alexis as Martin is. She's making horrible decisions.

Kristina's attitude about all this is also frustrating. Your dad is the reason your mom is facing life in prison! GET MAD!

Sorry, Sam, but considering the number of times over the years Sonny and Carly have hooked up while not being in a relationship, it's actually not crazy for them to use that as a fake alibi. The only crazy thing is that they haven't actually hooked up since their last split.

"Alexis needs to get herself out of this" is an interesting stance for someone who's had three different men get her out of her last three jams.

September 26th, 2024

Sidwell sends Anna and Holly away so he, Lucky, and Jason can play a hand of poker to see who lives and who dies. In a brief moment alone together, Lucky makes it clear to Jason that he's not going to make an effort to win. Jason tells him about Lulu and orders him to win his freedom and go home. All three players have good hands, but Jason folds his winning one so Lucky and Holly will live. It turns out to be a wasted heroic move, as Sidwell still won't let Lucky go. Anna figures that Jason will let Lucky win so he can go save Lulu, which means she and Jason won't be leaving alive. She asks Holly to tell Robert about her death in person so that he can share the news with Robin. Holly still has resentment toward Anna for getting between her and Robert, but she refuses to let Anna die, if only so she doesn't have to admit to Robert that she left Anna behind. Lucky asks for new stakes, but instead of his freedom, Sidwell agrees to let him play for both his and Holly's lives. Holly declares that she's done with all this nonsense and manages to grab Sidwell's gun as Lucky frees himself with keys he stole. Sidwell has Anna and Jason placed in a cell together, which is a dumb idea because now she can help him pick the lock on his handcuffs. Anna freaks out more than is natural, and speaking of things that are unnatural, she and Jason kiss. With the patience of a saint, Stella gets Tracy to acknowledge that her anger at Sasha and Cody about the brunch stems from her fear that her friendship with Cody won't last. Tracy admits that losing Luke, Gregory, and Finn has done a number on her, and that part of the reason she likes Cody is that he reminds her of Luke. Stella convinces her that not all of her friendships will end. Drew thinks that Michael should head up ELQ now that Valentin is out of the picture, but Ned wants to be the CEO. Michael really just wants everyone to stop fighting. Ned would like an end to the two-against-one dynamic, and Drew finally steps aside and tells the two of them to work things out. Ned tells Michael that Drew is acting a lot more Quartermaine-ish now, and not in a good way. He believes that Michael wants what's best for the family, but he doesn't feel the same about Drew, and he warns Michael to watch his back. Later, James gives Ned more anti-Drew ammo when he spills that he overheard Willow telling Nina that she and Drew kissed. Drew doesn't seem to get that when Willow says she wants him to stay away from her, she means it, and he's now coming across like a stalker. James and Cody are boring, and James somehow gets more screentime than Maxie, which is ridiculous. Then Cody and Sasha start to get it on, but Tracy catches them.

And here I thought the worst part of today's episode was going to be having to put up with James. But it's kind of nice to know that, as polarizing as the show can be, all the fans are united in hating this.

The kiss aside (please, please, let's put it aside), Anna's acting out of character. I'm sure she's gotten out of tougher jams than this. Why is she panicking so much?

Call it – four weeks back and Lucky finally called someone "man."

Dead man's hand cameo!

"What the hell are you doing here?" Saving you, obviously! You're welcome, by the way.

Am I supposed to be rooting for Holly? 'Cause no.

I can't believe this ELQ CEO argument is still going on. Stella, can you fix that, too?

If Tracy yells at Sasha and Cody for trying to have sex in the stable, I'm on board. James could have walked in!

September 27th, 2024

Lucky is able to grab Sidwell's gun, but Sidwell neutralizes him by threatening to stab Holly. Holly saves herself, then disappears instead of sticking around to make sure Sidwell doesn't kill Lucky. Carly does nothing to hide her annoyance at having to be seen in public with Sonny, and when he gives her permission to go bug Brennan for news on Anna and Jason, she takes off. Brennan finally does something useful, authorizing a drone strike on Sidwell's compound in hopes of sending his people running so their hostages can escape. It works, and just in time to keep Anna and Jason from being executed. They save Lucky from Sidwell, and Holly reappears with a getaway vehicle that allows the good guys to escape to an airfield where Brennan has a plane waiting for them. Sidwell now wants to go after Holly, knowing she stole diamonds from him, but other than that, everything worked out. Sonny takes advantage of Carly's departure to hang out with Natalia, who believes that they've rekindled things and doesn't want to start anything with him if that's the case. Diane yells at Sonny for spending time with Natalia instead of Carly and will probably yell at him again when she finds out that he's implied to Natalia that nothing is actually going on between him and Carly. Felicia gets a little nosy with Elizabeth about her feelings about Lucky coming back to town. Elizabeth insists that they won't be getting back together (sure) and she's completely moved on from him (uh-huh, sure). Felicia knows from her own experiences with Frisco that it's not that easy. Tracy apologizes to Sasha and Cody, and then the three of them are boring for the rest of the episode. Robert and Diane are filler, only talking about Brennan and how shady he is. Lucy doesn't like that Martin has changed since leaving town and wants nothing to do with her.

I guess we're supposed to feel like Holly's two heroic actions are enough to erase the fact that she barely did anything to save Lucky?

I can't decide which would have been funnier: Laura and Kevin showing up for the rescue and Sidwell being like, "Your mom came to save you?" or the two of them showing up after everyone escaped and being like, "Uh, what'd we miss?"

What was the point of the two-minute stretch where the plane was in restricted airspace? Dumb.

"We're done done." Considering the fact that the final scene of the episode was Lucky and Elizabeth on the phone with each other, framed in a way that makes it obvious it's a big deal, I'm going to say you're not done done, Liz.

Robert and Diane barely get any screentime together, so why waste all their scenes in this episode on them talking about Brennan?

Did Michael E. Knight forget in all the months he was gone that Martin has an accent?

September 30th, 2024

Lucky heads to the hospital as soon as the plane lands and starts undergoing tests to see if he's a match for Lulu. He wants to move things along as fast as possible, but Portia tells him that there are a lot of factors to consider, and he'll have to be patient. Fortunately, by the end of the episode, his test results indicate that he'll make a good donor. Elizabeth lets Aiden know that Lucky's in town, but if Aiden wants to see his father, he's doing a really good job of hiding it. He's disappointed that he's always been the one to initiate contact with Lucky, and he won't let himself believe that Lucky's in town for any reason other than to save Lulu. Terry makes a beeline over to Elizabeth's house to give her the heads-up that Lucky is at the hospital. Elizabeth does a little too much insisting that she won't have any problem seeing him again, and she reminds Terry that they've been apart for 15 years and are basically strangers to each other now. She doesn't expect him to stick around after he saves Lulu, though Terry thinks she's trying hard to manage her expectations. Meanwhile, Lucky visits Lulu and expresses his guilt over leaving her and the rest of his family. He even thinks that if he'd stayed in town, he would have been able to keep her from getting hurt. He hopes to make things up to everyone after the transplant, which means Elizabeth may not have to manage her expectations after all. Brennan debriefs Robert on how he handled things at Sidwell's compound, confirming that he authorized the drone strike, which happens to be a protocol Robert developed long ago. He asks Robert to follow up with Holly, which seems pretty suspicious considering Robert isn't in the WSB anymore. Mac, however, would prefer if Holly stayed far away from Robert, because he foresees her upending his life and then taking off. Carly tells Jason that Brennan saved everyone with the drone strike (though she also acts like she was the hero there), but Jason is less grateful than he is mad that she keeps trusting someone who's obviously not trustworthy. Anna spends the whole episode recapping her adventure for Felicia, except for the part where she kissed her daughter's ex. Nina really thinks that her...whatever with Drew is going to turn into something, while Curtis is much more realistic and worries that she's going to end up hurt. Off-screen, Marshall was chosen to tour with Wynton Marsalis, which Curtis finds out from someone other than Marshall.

Nice fake-out. I really thought from Portia's expression that Lucky wasn't a match.

Okay, the new Aiden is, like, 25. "I'm going to miss the bus." It doesn't matter, because you're old enough to rent a car. "I have to go to school." Where you're getting your master's in culinary arts? Because you're 25.

Thank you, Mac, for being the first person to finally mention Ethan. And thank you, Felicia, for reminding Anna that the guy she just kissed used to date her daughter.

What ridiculous contrivance to get Holly in scenes with Mac. Robert wasn't at home or his office (where he actually was), so she thought he might be at Maxie's?

Carly taking credit for the drone strike is so on-brand.

Good call, Curtis, suggesting that Nina's interpretation of her relationship with Drew might be as inaccurate as her interpretation of her relationship with "Mike."
